*S1 Jersey Sales Numbers Revealed! - sapp2013 - 08-06-2017 With the first season in the books and the second year started, it looks to be the time to look back at how the fans of the newly created NSFL have viewed the players and which ones seem to have found a home in the fanbases’ hearts. With just under 40,000,000 jerseys sold in the first year alone, let’s take a peek at which player’s jerseys have sold the most. DISCLAIMER: All of these numbers were produced by calculations, stats, records, AND semi-random numbers. This in no way says that one person is a better player than the other, but it allows for more bragging rights to be claimed. Thank You. Top 20 Players: 20. B. Nuck, RB Yellowknife Wraiths @NUCK Starting us off at #20 is Bubba Nuck. Bubba was the outright best Running back in season 1, leading the league in rushing yards, tied for 1st in rushing TDs, and third in rushing average just behind the Orange County Duo. Bubba deserves his place here on his list as one of the backbones to the wraiths offense who seem to have started fast once again this year as Bubba already has more than 350 yards on the ground; on pace to just break last year’s record. 19. R. Phelps, WR Orange County Otters @DrunkenTeddy Phelps was the reason why the Otters were as good as they were last year. He may not have been in the endzone too much, but he would catch everything thrown at him and would move the markers just about every time he made contact with the ball. He made Boss’ life easy by always being open, pulling in the most receptions in the league last year as well as the second most receiving yards. It would be a surprise if his name is not at the top of the stat sheet once again at years end. 18. J. Williams, CB Arizona Outlaws @RayCobaine Williams may not have had the same numbers as his teammate Rashad, but boy, when he got his hands on the ball, you were sure he was going to score every time. 5 interceptions with 3 of them run back for touchdowns really was the spark the outlaws needed to make a push for the playoffs and cement themselves as the best defense in season 1. The Fans loved it when he went up for the ball because they could not wait for his signature touchdown dance at the end of the play. 17. D. West, WR Baltimore Hawks @GoodLeftUndone The lone Baltimore Player in the top 20 is Damien West. West would wind up not even playing for the hawks in season 2 after being traded to the Wraiths. He put up good numbers, top 5 in both receiving and Receptions, but he has had a lot of competition with an expansion team nearby, the Philadelphia Liberty, stealing fans away from his Jersey sales. 16. I. Rashad, SS Arizona Outlaws @Destroyer Rashad wasn’t gaining much attention during the draft or preseason, but once the season started, he came out with a bang, 3 interceptions in his opening game against the Otters and he had Boss’s number all season, adding 4 more to his total by season’s end. Had we known how good he would become, we may have seen him jump into the top 10 in sales, but we will have to wait until next year to see if he is able to duplicate his tremendous play. 15. L. Tiernan, RB Colorado Yeti @Ltsmashie At #15 is Luke Tiernan, a running back who switch to Linebacker this past offseason. With a very crowded backfield, Tiernan was able to get a decent amount of carries before his position mates would pass him in skill. The position change seems to have gone smoothly, but look for his name in our top 15 once again next year as he starts making a ruckus on the defensive side of the ball this year. 14. J. Garden, WR Yellowknife Wraiths @Ballerstorm Despite being considered one of the top Wide outs this past year, Garden slipped a bit in the jersey rankings. It might not help that he plays in northern Canada and some fans may not even know where Yellowknife really is. Hopefully he can garner a couple more Jersey sales as the second season rolls around and fans learn how to read a map. 13. K. Laces, K San Jose Sabercats @tootboots12 The first kicker on our list. You might be thinking, “Wait, MULTIPLE kickers in the top 15?!?!”. Well, you would be right. Despite last year’s pathetic play for the Sabercats, one of the only bright spots was seeing Laces hit the field. You were damn near sure he was gonna kick it through the uprights everytime. I asked a fellow news reporter what he thought of the kicker, and even though he was from San Diego, he had this praise for the kicker, “80% of the time, he makes it every time”. 12. L. Jenkins, RB Orange County Otters @Jiggly_333 One of the Otters pairs of their Dynamic Duo of backs shows up at #12. After both players narrowly missed the century mark last season, Omar and Leroy went separate ways; Leroy looking to cement his legacy as an Otter and Omar starting anew with the Liberty. Even though Omar may have surpassed Leroy once again, this time in jersey sales, Leroy is looking to carry this rivalry to the grave and we should see good numbers from the both of them in season 2. 11. D. Law, WR Colorado Yeti @Law The second player from Colorado to land on this list and just missed the top 10. Law played very well as a Wide out, catching practically everything thrown at him from his QB Noble and being his favorite target in the redzone. Coming back this year Hendrix and Law will try to cement themselves as the top Wide Receiver duo in the league. 10. J. Durden, RB Arizona Outlaws @Durden Coming in tenth place is Someone who didn’t quite light up the score board or the box score as much as others, but won the hearts of the fans. Durden scored 5 times and helped lead Arizona to and win the Ultimus Trophy in the inaugural season and definitely deserves a place on this past year’s top 10 of jersey sales. 9. A. Nugent, K Arizona Outlaws @galatix The highest jersey sales for a kicker this year belong to Adrianne Nugent, who seems to have gone Inactive as the season went on. With both his duties as a kicker and punter, he won the fans praise with his “give no shit’ attitude and by ghosting on media members as they tried to interview him after each and every game. 8. S. Weston, WR San Jose Sabercats @Symmetrik Despite not playing in the #1 Wide Receiver position, Weston has absolutely dominated jersey sales with his play, both on offense and special teams, as well as his work off the field with the NSFL PLAY NOW foundation. His charity work has really caught the attention of those in San Jose and he is loved be the city. His sales numbers may be inflated a bit since he did donate 1,500 jerseys to homeless shelters, but his heart was in the right place. 7. L. Jefferson, WR Arizona Outlaws @adam2552 Jefferson played second fiddle to Stormblessed during the inaugural season and wasn’t too keen on it. Whether it was a problem with the front office or the locker room, the Outlaws let this man go due to the Expansion draft and they are dearly missing him. Although he switched to the other side of the ball, no one can doubt this man’s playing ability and the Outlaws hope he won’t catch another pass from their star QB in the future. Regardless, being ranked #7 in the league for jersey sales says something about his perception from the fans and there is no doubt that the Liberty would love his presence both on and off the field this year. 6. B. Westfield, WR Orange County Otters @Bwestfield The Twelfth round snag seems to have caught the attention of the fans in California as he lead the otters to the playoffs on his spectacular first season. Just missing the Century mark, being top 3 for average yards per reception (eligible players), and leading the league in touchdowns is quite the feat, especially when many of his peers were drafted many rounds before him. He might be the steal of the draft, but only time will tell. Hopefully the fans keep up their support and so Bradley can shw the nation why he is so beloved in the Orange County. 5. L. Noble, QB Colorado Yeti @ Just barely being edged out by Orosz to lead the league in eligible passer ratings, Noble crushed him in jersey sales by almost three-fold. Something must be in the water in Colorado, because everyone is feeling the Yeti inside of them this year and the bandwagoners are hoping on early. Noble is ready to lead this team and finish what he had hoped for last year, the chance to raise the Ultimus trophy. 4. L. Hendrix, WR Colorado Yeti @deadendpath27 Hendrix is already enjoying a nice first quarter to the season, racking up almost 300 yards and adding a touchdown. He is on pace to break what he did last year which his fans in Colorado will enjoy. Anything that will go right has for him as he and Noble lead the Yetis into a 3-1 record and hope to continue this upward path to the finish line this season. 3. V. Draxel, QB Arizona Outlaws @701 Vincent Draxel is the highest jersey seller for QBs in the league. With his impressive 20/14 TD to Interception ratio, he completely blew the competition out of the water. Granted he was also the star QB for the Ultimus winning team, fans would not leave him alone and would constantly shove merchandise in his face hoping he would grace them with a signature. He is a superstar in Arizona and it would be blasphemous to call any other QB the GOAT while you are in the Copper state. 2. O. Wright, RB Orange County Otters @`xdave2456` The second half of last year’s Orange County duo is taking his talents to Philadelphia to try to continue his illustrious career. Missing the Century mark by just 1 yard, Omar will want to improve on his numbers, but having the second most jerseys sold in the first year is something he can be proud of. 1. N. Stormblessed, WR Arizona Outlaws @Stormblessed The seventh Outlaw on this list and the highest jersey sales of anyone in the league belongs to none other than None Stormblessed. With his Key-n-Peele-esque name, HE was the most balanced Wide out this year, not toping a single category for the top 4 stats, but being top 8 in yards, average yards per catch, and touchdowns really drives the crowds crazy. It will be hard to top the 1.9 million Stormblessed jerseys that were sold this year. --- Here is the full list so you can see where you land among all the players from S1 (including those who played only a couple of games) as well as total amount of jerseys sold: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rank | Player | Pos. | Team | # of jerseys sold | Total Sold: 39,548,271 | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Stormblessed, N.
