No one really knows where Sam Squanch came from. It's as if he just stepped out of the Nova Scotia woods one day. After stumbling upon a group of kids playing American style football, they asked if he wanted to join. Based on his size, they suggested he play defense and they discovered he was incredible good at catching people and tackling them. Deceptively fast for his size, it was as if the offensive players never saw him. He seemed to be in one place and then another, or multiple places at once. They often never saw him coming.
He attracted the attention of a scout from North Carolina State University who invited him to try out for the football team. He quickly became a star linebacker for the Wolfpack, setting several school records for tackles and sacks. He was also a star student. His uncanny knowledge of wild animals attracted the attention of the veterinary school, and he also specialized in forestry and cryptozoology. As he prepares for the DFSL Draft it remains to be seen if there is a spot for him at the Pro level. Although rumors have it he already knows some people in the Colorado Yeti organization.
