*All Time ISFL GM Rankings #20-#11 - siddhus - 03-25-2021

Make sure you check out yesterday's edition, which was #30-#21, because its intro will explain a lot more about what is happening here, as well as, we put a lot of work into it, so check it out! After a positive reaction from people all over the discord servers I posted the article in, we decided to get together, and get this edition done, as quick as possible, to let the next 10, know where they end up on the list. With this portion we enter the top 15ish% of all the GMs that ever were in the league, so it is a huge accomplishment, and whoever ends up having a name here, should be happy with themselves and the GMing career. Keep in mind that, the higher the list goes, it gets a little harder, because everyone here has a claim to be higher, and it took a lot of inner debating and talking with the other voters to determine who actually ended up in the final stage. Once you read through it, make sure to leave something below about stuff you disagree with or agree with, or any predictions for the 10-1, which includes the best of the best, and all the GMs that have an arguement for making the Hall.

20. @Frostbite*
Team(s): Sarasota Sailfish Head GM (S22-S27)
--------------------------------------------
SAR S22: 6-7 (0-1 playoffs)
SAR S23: 8-8
SAR S24: 12-4 (1-1 playoffs)
SAR S25: 11-5 (0-1 playoffs)
SAR S26: 8-8 (1-1 playoffs)
SAR S27: 12-4 (2-0 playoffs), Ultimus, GMOTY
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 57-36-0 (61.29%)
Playoffs Record: 4-4 (50.00%)
Trophy Case: 1 GMotY, 1 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 12, 15, 18, 19, 22, 22, 28
Points: 81
--------------------------------------------
Frost was one of those expansion GM founders, whose work finally paid off this season. Getting the Ultimus and a GMotY, really elevated him on the ranking, getting an Ultimus in only 6 seasons. After that first season of a 6-7 record, where they were still able to make the playoffs, they have not had a losing record since, showing how much the Sailfish has grown under Frost’s leadership. After some playoff struggles against other teams, they were finally able to finish the job as mentioned in the beginning. Frost was one of the only expansion GMs in this leagues history, to not have ISFL GMing experience, having only GMed the DSFL for a while before making his way up, but he still adjusted quickly. With a roster still in his prime, with some work, he has a chance to repeat, if everything falls in his favor. We look forward to seeing how long Sarasota can stay on the top, fighting for the best team in the league while Frost is GM.

19. @Oles
Team(s): Philadelphia Liberty Co-GM (S3)
    Philadelphia Liberty Head GM (S4-S7)
    Chicago Butchers Head GM (S16-S17)
--------------------------------------------
PHI S3: 8-5-1 (0-1 playoffs)
PHI S4: 7-7 (0-1 playoffs)
PHI S5: 8-6
PHI S6: 9-5 (1-1 playoffs), GMOTY
PHI S7: 10-4 (2-0 playoffs), Ultimus
CHI S16: 10-3 (0-1 playoffs), GMOTY
CHI S17: 8-5 (0-1 playoffs)
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 60-35-1 (62.5%)
Playoffs Record: 3-5 (37.50%)
Trophy Case: 2 GMotY, 1 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 16, 17, 18, 19, 19, 20, 22
Points: 86
--------------------------------------------
Twice has Oles been put in charge of a new expansion team, and twice has he built the team into a 1-seed championship contender. In Philadelphia, that meant overseeing an extremely young roster and making additions wherever possible, and Oles thrived at this task, earning a GMotY award and an Ultimus at the tail end of the build. Almost ten seasons later, Oles was selected as the expansion GM of the Chicago Butchers. With aggressive draft and free agency moves, Oles built a championship-caliber roster before the team even stepped on the field, earning a second GMotY and achieving an unheard-of two straight playoff appearances in the team’s first two seasons.

Trophy Case: 2 GMotY, 2 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 20, 21
Points: 92
--------------------------------------------
Bwestfield has been a GM for the longest of times, actually being third in the list for most games played. Along the time, he was able to collect two GMotY awards, as well as two Ultimus’ being there as the OCO co-GM, helping start the dynasty that came from there. From OCO, he made his way to Colorado in Season 14, while, even with not starting too well, with 6 wins in the first three seasons in total, he finally got a little better, being able to improve little by little every season, setting Colorado up for success when he left. But maybe his biggest accomplishment, was being the Co-founder of the New York Silverbacks where in just two seasons got a bye game in a very tough ASFC conference, getting the GMotY award alongside his GM partner. He stepped down after S26 unfortunately but was able to leave NY in a good spot.

17. @AdamS

--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 68-67-0 (50.37%)
Playoffs Record: 5-4 (55.56%)
Trophy Case: 1 GMotY, 2 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 13, 16, 16, 16, 16, 21, 24
Points: 95
--------------------------------------------
Juggling around teams for a lot of his GMing Career, AdamS finally settled down when he was named one of the expansion GMs, and became the founder to the Austin Copperheads. From there, he made it his mission to be the fastest expansion team to an Ultimus, and despite starting out 0-13 in his first season, he managed to make that a reality, and got the Ultimus in five seasons, that still remains a record for an expansion team, that while teams have gotten close, none have quite beaten it. But before Austin, he spent two seasons in Arizona where he was their head GM right after the whole multi controversy and was able to steer the ship to the right place and keep them just over .500. Then in New Orleans was able to go 11-3 twice in a row, making the Ultimus twice, and ended up winning one of them. All in all, did a very good job at GM, with his most notable job, being able to set up Austin for the future, where they are thriving to this day.

CK has been a GM since the beginning of time, it feels like, yet unfortunately doesn’t have a ton of hardware to his name. Outside of the 3 Ultimus wins and 3 GMOTY, he does have several good seasons but wasn’t able to make it all the way. Most likely the reason he is this low on the list is the fact that his overall regular season record is below 50% and the fact that he had only 11 winning seasons in his 27 so far. He has proven he is a good GM, but he is just outside the top 15 in these rankings due to the losing seasons.  With the last two seasons having .500, if he can get back to the S24-25 form for the Sabercats, we could easily see him rise up in the list.

15. @ADwyer87
Team(s): Arizona Outlaws Head GM (S1-S4)
  Honolulu Hahalua Co-GM (S22-S23)
--------------------------------------------
ARI S1: 9-5 (2-0 playoffs), Ultimus, GMOTY

Regular Season Record: 57-28-0 (67.06%)
Playoffs Record: 6-1 (85.71%)
Trophy Case: 3 GMotY, 3 Ultimus’
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21
Points: 99
--------------------------------------------
Dwyer is one of the more controversial GMs on this list, as he was involved in the multi controversy with the Arizona teams of S1-S3. So how did we deal with that? We decided that S1 did not have many multis, and there was never any evidence that Dwyer had any idea that the multi’s were even on the team. So it was agreed that S1 would go without an asterisk, and the others to be treated as if Dwyer were doing the best that he could with what he thought were active players. We also factored in his two seasons as an expansion GM, which saw little success but did see a lot of excellent building towards the core of the team, which of course nearly made the Ultimus this past season and has been trending upwards as of late. Overall, his tenure as GM was tainted by the rough deal he got from Er’s shenanigans, but he was still a good GM.

14. @nunccoepi + @iseedoug
Team(s):  Baltimore Head+Co-GM (S14-S17)
--------------------------------------------
BAL S14: 11-3 (0-1 playoffs)
BAL S15: 12-2 (2-0 playoffs), Ultimus
BAL S16: 7-6
BAL S17: 8-5 (2-1 playoffs)
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 38-16-0 (70.37%)
Playoffs Record: 4-2 (66.67%)
Trophy Case: 0 GMotY, 1 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 8, 11, 15, 18, 18, 22, 23
Points: 102
--------------------------------------------
From creating QuickKetchup sim testing in the DSFL (leading the Luchadores to five straight Ultiminis), the duo of Nunccoepi and iseedoug made their way to the ISFL to try their hands in Baltimore. Not getting a single losing record, while also making two Ultimus Games, while getting to win one in the process as well. They are the one of two duos that were put together in this ranking, purely because they only GMed with each other, and they requested to be put together. With a 70% win percentage and a 66% playoff win percentage, they were able to consistently keep winning no matter how important the game was. When they took over Baltimore, the team had only had 4 wins the season before, but right away they made some trades, and were able to almost flip their record, and get themselves 11 wins. Getting ranked as high as 8 on the list, but also as low as 23, there was lots of debate on where they should end up, but they landed somewhere in the middle of that, and are in the top 15 GMs.

13. @TomHanks
Team(s): New Orleans Second Line Co-GM (S18-S21)
New Orleans Second Line Head GM (S21-S24)
--------------------------------------------
NOLA S18: 5-8
NOLA S19: 8-5 (1-1 playoffs), GMOTY
NOLA S20: 7-6 (1-1 playoffs)
NOLA S21: 9-4 (3-0 playoffs), Ultimus, GMOTY
NOLA S22: 8-5 (0-1 playoffs)
NOLA S23: 9-7 (0-1 playoffs)
NOLA S24: 9-7 (0-1 playoffs)
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 55-42-0 (56.7%)
Playoffs Record: 5-5 (50.0%)
Trophy Case: 2 GMotY, 1 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 20
Points: 120
--------------------------------------------
TomHanks became the Second Line GM in S18 after acting as the GM of the Tijuana Luchadores during S16 and S17, taking over for terriblehippo. NOLA had been struggling for a few seasons before this time, but due to some savvy moves by Tom and fellow GM JuOSu, they were able to go on a playoff streak from S19-S24, never having a losing season during that time. Tom was able to orchestrate several good trades that allowed NOLA to rebuild with a strong S18 class and pick at the top of S19, and used that to the best of his ability. Despite some bad luck in the playoffs outside of the win in S21, tom rightfully racked up his two GMotY awards and is deserving of a place on this list.

12. @woelkers*
Team(s): Colorado Yeti Co-GM (S21-S24)
New York Silverbacks Head GM (S25-PRESENT)
--------------------------------------------
COL S21: 8-5
COL S22: 8-5 (3-0 playoffs), Ultimus, GMOTY
COL S23: 10-6 (1-1 playoffs)
COL S24: 14-2 (1-1 playoffs)
NYS S25: 4-12
NYS S26: 9-7 (0-1 playoffs), GMOTY
NYS S27: 7-9
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 60-46-0 (56.6%)
Playoffs Record: 5-3 (62.50%)
Trophy Case: 2 GMotY, 1 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 7, 10, 14, 14, 14, 17, 18
Points: 123
--------------------------------------------
Woelker has had a somewhat up and down tenure as GM, leading two separate teams alongside 3 different co-GMs with a 60-46 record. He has announced that he will be stepping down after this season, so this will be his final chance. However, woelker has been one of the most strategic GMs in the league’s history, always prioritizing locker room activity and fair trades. He’s one of the best drafters in the league as well, and has put together some excellent seasons with Colorado before taking over an expansion team and leading the build towards excellence. They have made the playoffs once so far but are getting closer every season, and one would expect New York to be in the Ultimus sooner rather than later.

11. @JuOSu
Team(s): Orange County Otters Co-GM (S4)
New Orleans Second Line Head GM (S14-S21)
--------------------------------------------
OCO S4: 9-5 (2-0 playoffs), Ultimus
NOLA S14: 4-10
NOLA S15: 2-12
NOLA S16: 6-7
NOLA S17: 4-9
NOLA S18: 5-8
NOLA S19: 8-5 (1-1 playoffs), GMOTY
NOLA S20: 7-6 (1-1 playoffs)
NOLA S21: 9-4 (3-0 playoffs), Ultimus, GMOTY
--------------------------------------------
Regular Season Record: 54-66-0 (45.0%)
Playoffs Record: 7-2 (77.78%)
Trophy Case: 2 GMotY, 2 Ultimus
--------------------------------------------
Rankings: 8, 11, 12, 12, 12, 18, 18
Points: 126
--------------------------------------------
JuOSu was the GM for the Otters along with MolarPistols in their first season of 3 consecutive Ultimus wins in S4, then took a break from GMing until S14, when she took over for Bayley as the head GM of New Orleans. Despite some early struggles, she was able to rebuild the squad and make the playoffs for 3 consecutive seasons at the end of her career, finishing it off with an Ultimus win alongside TomHanks, who is a bit lower on the list. When talking with current GMs of NOLA, they credited JuOSu for being the major reason of why New Orleans is where they are today, saying that she “rebuilt the franchise from nothing”. Just looking at the numbers, with a under .500, it might not look like much, but if you dig deeper, and see what the franchise started like, and then ended like when she stepped down, you can not question her impact onto the team.

I wish we could have GMed longer to prove we were even better, but things got busy IRL.
