Guarantee this is something HO pushed to happen, deadlines were never an issue when i was PPT head because I made sure they were closed when the deadline happened. Seems easy and yet it's an issue somehow

Just to clear this up, we knew the best way to do it was to close threads at the deadline, but sometimes nobody from the PPT was online at the right time. It doesn't help knowing that some submissions were hours later, but this isn't something we never thought anout as you can imagine.

The problem i see is that people don't know its not super strict. There have been a few time where I've realised inhavent done predictions and the time is :50 or :55. I've though I missed the deadline so there's no point doing them. It's a much fairer system to be uniform.

HO had absolutely nothing to do with this decision. The PPT team all supported and Sid asked me if it needs HO approval and the answer was no, and they could change it as deemed fit.
We are hoping that the tool that allows you to create threads with a end time where the thread will be automatically locked will take out any concern over human error going forward if we can get it working.

closing predictions when the sim actually starts is a very logical move
there really hasnt been a reason to keep it at quarter til for a very very long time
