Drake was never one for his classes back at high school, but football was definitaly more of his specialty, and his high intelligence allows him to translate well to coaching. An easy way to inspire a team of young aspiring professional football players? Show them someone whos made it to the highest level. When the school announced that Drake was going to be coming back for the closing stretch of the season it was understood to be mainly ceremonia. The team itself wasn't very good, but the importance of Drake's leadership for the young men on the team could not be overstated. The final 4 games he went back to coach saw the highest levels of attendance in the history of the school, and a lot of Drake's old team got back together to attend, a group that hardly saw each other since they graduated in 2019. As for the games themselves, the team split the series 2-2, with the faults largely falling on the team's lack of an offense. The defense was significently better coached as a natural result of their coaches natural ability and experience, but with a little help from his captain Mattathias Caliban, for the final two games the big issues were ironed out, and the final two games were won easily and the experiment was a success. Drake didn't sick around to coach for the following seasons, but the players remember what it was like to have him as their coach.
