*Snake Report: Austin Copperheads DSFL Check In #3 - RDBSouthPaw - 04-21-2021

Earlier we got to take some time and explore what the Copperheads organization has looked like for this week of action. Now comes the time for us to check in on the talented young stars of tomorrow that are currently in the DSFL. All of the young sneks have been putting in a tremendous amount of work and it is really starting to show on the field! Let us take a look at how they are all doing:

BBB Chathack’rius Smith IV @Rockiesfan4ever BBB
I know this recap is supposed to be about Chathack’rius Smith IV and his performance over the last three (3) weeks, but I wanted to make a little bit of a mention of what the Bondi Beach Buccaneers have done this last half of the season. If you include the pre-season, Bondi Beach lost their first six (6) games and looked to be a team stuck rebuilding for yet another year after their championship run. However, they have absolutely turned it around these last five (5) weeks as they are 4-1 in their last 5 games including an absolute beat-down of the first place London Royals, that we will talk about later. Now, how much of this is because of Chathack’rius Smith IV? Let’s find out.
Week 5 had Smith and the Buccaneers hosting the Kansas City Coyotes at home and Smith IV, coming off of some dreadful performances we talked about last week, was trying to change the narrative around his play this year. Rumours and speculation were flying and this writer was hearing things like “soft”, “can’t play the run”, and “doesn’t make any impact plays''. He definitely has been outshined on defense so far this year by players like Mongo, Johnson, IsBetter, and Tingzpahcbol. Smith was involved in a tackle early in the game on the first drive for Kansas City, but the play was negated by a holding penalty on Kansas City. The next couple of drives were silent for Smith, as you watch him on the film, lurking, and in position to make a play, but always being beaten to the punch by someone else. He needs to work up field more on run plays to make impact tackles, and not just tackles to line a stat sheet. It’s at this point if you have to wonder if his football IQ is high enough to ever be an elite safety at even the DSFL level, let alone the ISFL level. His first official tackle of the game came halfway through the second quarter as he, and a host of Bucs, were able to pull down the runner after an 11 yard gain. He made a smattering of more tackles on the game (three to be exact), but wasn’t part of the goal line stand, or any big pivotal moments. An absolutely forgettable game despite the Bucs’ victory.
Week 6 was a game the Buccaneers had been circling and knew that they had to put up a strong showing to be taken seriously as they were going on the road to London to face the 1st place Royals. A game of this magnitude needed the star players for the Bucs to step-up and make plays and if Smith IV wants to be considered an elite player then that falls on him. The Buccaneers, much like last week, allowed the opposition to drive down to their goal line, but made another key goal line stand that resulted in no points thanks to a blocked FG (by not Chathack’rius Smith IV). Although he had a couple of early tackles throughout the game it was yet another relatively empty stat sheet for Smith, 5 tackles, 0 fumbles, 0 sacks, 0 pass deflections, and 0 picks. Led by the strength of their other defensive stars, the Bucs dominate the Royals for a 31-17 win.
Can you be the steal of the draft if you never produce? People were starting to question what they were hearing about Smith IV after multiple weeks of stat sheets that were devoid of anything but tackles. Bondi carried their momentum into a game against Norfolk and finally Smith IV made a bigger impact than just 3 or 4 tackles. He started off the game with several tackles early in drives and key tackles to stop big plays; in the passing game he finally got his first pass deflection since week 3. Norfolk tried to run the ball down the Bucs throats like other teams had in the past, to the tune of 49 attempts, and this allowed Smith to rack up an almost season high 8 tackles to go with his pass deflection. While people are still waiting for the impact plays, maybe this is the game that propels Smith to a dominant second half of the season.

DAL Bayley Cowabunga @JKortesi81 DAL
After Bayley Cowabunga and the Birddogs’ strong three game win streak, the sophomore sensation has not pumped the brakes a single time since then, and that’s exactly what Dallas needed with another tough three game stretch coming up and the Portland Pythons being their first opponent. Cowabunga had a relatively quiet first half against the Pythons despite the Birddogs taking a 13-3 lead, accruing three punt returns for a combined 22 yards and a single reception for 8 yards. However, the young star would explode in the second half to make sure that Portland’s dreams of a comeback would stay just out of reach. Cowabunga would make two receptions for 12 yards each to begin the third quarter before his team’s drive would ultimately be halted by a sack fumble in Portland territory. Once Dallas got the ball back though Christ Jr. made a huge connection to his favorite WR Bayley Cowabunga for a massive 48-yard gain! After Cowabunga managed to flip the team’s field position and put them in field goal range the Birddogs unfortunately could not turn the drive into points and would leave the field after a missed field goal. The Portland Pythons would go on to score their 16th unanswered point late in the fourth quarter and take a 16-13 lead over the Dallas Birddogs. Knowing his team needed another clutch performance, Cowabunga caught three quick passes for 37 yards with under two minutes left in the game. With these clutch receptions and more from the rest of the offense the Birddogs would plow down the rest of the field and score a game winning touchdown! They left almost no time for Portland to try and pull off a heroic drive, Dallas would come out of week 5 with a big win!
With that win behind them, Cowabunga and the Birddogs moved on to week 6 against the Minnesota Grey Ducks. The sophomore looked to follow up a strong 117-yard game with another strong performance, and that’s exactly what he did! In a relatively quiet game scoring-wise, Cowabunga made sure to make his presence known in the first half with 5 receptions totaling up to 57 yards and 3 first downs! This didn’t satisfy Cowabunga though after his team went into the second half down 7-0. After a quick first two drives in the second half with a single 13-yard reception he sparked hope in his team with a huge third drive. Cowabunga caught an important 9-yard pass in Minnesota territory and after his team got into the red zone made a huge 14-yard touchdown catch, even following it up with an easy 2-point conversion! After forcing the Grey Ducks to punt on their last possession the Birddogs got two more receptions for 22 combined yards to Cowabunga but it ultimately wasn’t enough as their drive ran out of time just inside of Minnesota territory and the game ended with their loss.
Bayley Cowabunga’s hot streak continued on his way to an away game versus the Kansas City Coyotes who looked for revenge after an exciting Ultimini game last season. Cowabunga started off the game strong with a 24-yard reception that led to a quick touchdown for the defending champs on their first drive of the game. The Coyotes struck back hard though with 28 unanswered points to take a 28-7 lead going into the second half despite another 5 catches for 42 combined yards from Cowabunga. The young receiver would go on to make Kansas City fans nervous in the second half by starting the 4th quarter with a huge 36-yard reception that led to a Dallas touchdown and then adding two more receptions for 20 combined yards that lead to another touchdown, keeping the game close. However, this colossal effort from Cowabunga would be in vain once again as the Birddogs still couldn’t quite make the comeback and fell to the Coyotes 35-24.
Weeks 5-7 proved that Bayley Cowabunga’s monstrous start to the season was no fluke as the sophomore sensation continues his campaign for Wide Reciever of the year with three straight 100+ yard games. We wouldn’t be surprised if Cowabunga comes back next week for a strong revenge game against the Coyotes and racks up more big performances throughout the rest of the season. You don’t want to miss these games!

POR Carter Fox @FuzzISFL POR
Week 5 - Portland vs Dallas Birddogs
The second loss of the year for the Pythons comes at the hands (paws? Wings???) of the Birddogs. In this game, Fox wasn’t the top of the team in any stat. Had 6 tackles with a tackle for loss, but neither of those stats stood out.
His first quarter was fairly. One tackle but it was a part of a drive-stopper that resulted in a touchdown. In the 2nd, Carter Fox was more engaged with two tackles on the same drive, which resulted in a punt. Unfortunately, these two tackles led to the punt right before halftime, giving the Python’s possession and conversely leading to them kicking off to start the next quarter, which seems less than ideal. However, Fox made up for it with a tackle in the third on another successfully stopped drive from the defensive point of view. Fox’s other tackle in the 3rd was impactful, and his tackle for loss in the clutch in the 4th ended up in a similar way as the Birddogs got the touchdown that put the game away after they whittled away at the yardage.
One thing of note is that, as a DT, Fox was not in a position to handle a lot of plays. His last tackle was the last rush attempt by the B-Dogs before they stormed down field with 10 straight passes. Dallas attempted 29 rush attempts and Fox collected 6 tackles in that situation. It makes his lesser “counting stats” more impressive as they avoided the run game, and Fox was still able to be impactful.
Week 6 - Portland vs Norfolk Seawolves
As an ex-Seawolf, this is a hard one to look at. Fox wasn’t needed for a lot, picking up just 2 tackles and a forced fumble as Norfolk mustered up just 14 points. The Portland offense had the ball a TON as they put up 41 points.
The forced fumble came in the 2nd quarter. In a 14-0 game, and Norfolk wanting to answer back to the two touchdowns, they worked into a 1st and 10 situation on the Portland 33. That’s when Fox forced a fumble, and two throws later the Pythons were in the endzone. I think it’s safe to say Fox earned an “assist” on that touchdown. Fox’s other tackle in the game came under harsh circumstances. With 1st and goal, Fox got the tackle off, and then another tackle came from the Pythons, but 1st and goal on the Portland 1 is a pretty hard thing to manage for 3 downs and Norfolk picked up their 1st touchdown of the game. Unfortunate, but it happens. On the bright side for Fox, in spite of lesser numbers again, he is getting an unofficial point for the forced fumble, and did his part in attempting to stop Norfolk from gaining a single yard.
Week 7 - Portland vs Tijuana Luchadores
Fox had another quiet, yet solid performance today. He collected five tackles, one of which forced a fumble. That seems to be becoming a theme for Carter. With the game being won with 7 minutes left via a Portland touchdown, defense was at a premium and anything Fox could do on the line helped immensely.
Fox didn’t do a whole lot in the 1st quarter. Well, he didn’t have much of a chance to but he never showed up on the scoresheet. In the 2nd? Fox came up huge for the snake lads. 1st and goal on the Portland 5? They hold the fort until 3rd and goal, and Fox stuffs Pappi at the line, leading to a (successful) field goal. Their next drive? 3rd and 7 and Pappi has the ball in his hands again. Just like last time, Pappi is met by the thunderous might of Fox who takes him down. His next 2 tackles had no game impact--one was followed by a flag on the play and the other was beyond the 1st down marker. For his 5th and final tackle, Fox was able to perform the tackle at the line of scrimmage on 3rd down, leading to another punt. Three of Fox’s five tackles directly preceded the ball being kicked and a change of possession from the Luchadores to the Python’s. That kind of game impact is hard to ignore, and another good performance by Fox matches another W for the Pythons who improve to 5-2.

POR Aleksandr Vasilev @aimbotalex POR
Week 5 Recap
I’m back again to do recaps for our speedy WR Aleksandr Vasilev, and he had a mixed few weeks, the week 5 game against the Dallas Birddogs was…. A game to forget for the wide receiver, he managed to record 0 stats of any kind, no receptions for any yards no rushing, no other, nothing, he was targeted 3 times with two of the passes missing the mark and the other he could not keep in his hands, dropping the pass. With the Pythons only losing to the Birddogs by 4 points I am sure Vasilev will be kicking himself that he couldn't make a bigger impact and maybe influence the game more to pull out the win, and i’m sure he will want to play better next week and get back on his performance schedule.
Week 6 recap
Again Vasilev went into the week 6 game against the Seawolves looking to bounce back and to put in a much better performance than against the Birddogs, and while most of the game he had zero impact in the smack down of Norfolk, when he did have his big chance he took it this week, he only had one catch in the game but it went for 22 yards and it got him a touchdown for the game which happened in the 4th quarter, he was unable to gain any other stats he must be happy with any impact after last week, however his overall impact was still not up to Vasilevs ambition, he was targeted 3 more times from his QB, one which got nowhere near him, one which Vasilev couldn’t hold on to and one where the opposing defence was able to intercept it, so while he had an impact things could’ve been much better and it can’t feel great to see his teammates feasting and only to have one great play against a poor Seawolf team, and again he will want to improve against a better Tijuana side
Week 7 recap
After a run of bad games against different difficulties of opponents, Vasilev finally picked up to a level he would want his game to be in a big comeback game against Tijuana where Portland came from behind to win, Vasilev himself came up big for his team and put in a great performance, his stats on the day include 4 receptions going for 50 yards overall, averaging 12.5 yards a catch with his longest going for 15, and he even managed to get a pancake when asked to block showing his versatility. He was targeted 3 more times but the passes were broken up, Vasilev showed how dangerous he could be and kept his team rolling and kept the momentum up which allowed his team to comeback from being down in the first half. This is the performance he will want to continue and make a standard game and we will see if he can make this happen, next week is a replay against Tijuana so we'll see if he can replicate this game.

MIN Gluteus Maximus @UpperNet MIN
Gluteus Maximus continues to put his strong leg to work in the service of the Minnesota Grey Ducks. In a week 5 matchup against the Norfolk Seawolves which the Minnesota Grey Ducks dominated the Norfolk Seawolves 41-0, Maximus saw the field 12 times not including kick offs. In the first quarter Gluteus Maximus capped off two different drives, both of which ended with a touchdown which he successfully put the ball through the uprights for the extra point on both drives. This brings his point total for the game up to 2 points. The second quarter Maximus made a non-kickoff appearance 4 times! The first was a punt that sailed 33 yards to the Norfolk 6 yard line. The second was a field goal attempt from 30 yards out that was successfully made. This brings his point total to 5 points. The third capped off another touchdown drive with another successful extra point attempt. This brings his point total to 6 points. The fourth was a successful field goal attempt from an incredible 51 yards out. This brings his game point total up to 9 points. I said in my last write up on Gluteus Maximus that in order to really differentiate himself from Campbell, he would have to try and make a couple 40+ yard field goals and the very next game he went out and sank a 51 yard field goal. We will check in later on how Gluteus Maximus's season stats compare to the rest of the league and how the award races are shaping up. The third quarter of the Minnesota Grey Ducks versus Norfolk Seawolves game, Gluteus Maximus started his quarter by ending yet another touchdown drive with a successful extra point attempt. This brings his point total for the game up to 10 points. His next appearance he had, he sent a deep punt 51 yards to the Norfolk 16 yard line where Norfolk actually lost a yard on the return. His next appearance he had, he sent another deep punt even further, this time a 59 yard punt that landed for a touchback. His fourth and final appearance in the third quarter was yet another punt this time a 33 yard punt landing at the Norfolk 22 yard line and being returned 9 yards to the Norfolk 31 yard line. For the fourth and final quarter, Maximus once again topped off another touchdown drive with a successful extra point attempt. This brings his point total for the game up to 11 points. And for the final appearance from Gluteus Maximus in this game, Maximus sent a 44 yard punt into the end zone for a touchback. For the whole game, Gluteus maximus was a perfect 5 for 5 on extra points. Maximus was also a perfect 2 for 2 on field goals with one from 30 yards out and the other from 51 yards out. Maximus scored 11 of the 41 points from the Minnesota Grey Ducks in this game, meaning he scored over 25% of the total points in the whole game. For punting, Maximus had 5 punts for 220 total yards for an average of 44 yards per punt with a longest punt of 59 yards and 2 punts (or 40%) landing inside the 20. Highlight of this game was the 51 yard field goal and biggest critique from this game would be his second to last punt which only went 33 yards and landed at the 22 yard line. 3 more yards and over half of his total punts would have been inside the 20, the rest would have been touchbacks. Though you could also argue that the 22 yard line it further back than both of the touchbacks spotted the ball. This does not take into consideration the 9 yard return though.
For the second game, Gluteus Maximus and the Minnesota Grey Ducks took on the Ultimini winning Dallas Birddogs. Gluteus Maximus saw less field time in this week 6 contest but played a much more impactful part. In the first quarter, Maximus's only appearance came on a 25 yard punt, pinning the Dallas Birddogs to their own 7 yard line. That is the only play that Gluteus Maximus had in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Maximus came out for his first extra point attempt and of course nailed it bringing his point total for the game up to 1 point. His other appearance in the 2nd quarter was a long 53 yard punt that landed in the end zone for a touchback. In the third quarter, Maximus was very busy. The third quarter saw three punts for Maximus. The first punt was a 48 yard punt landing at the Dallas 16 yard line with no return. The second punt was a 42 yard punt landing at the Dallas 24 yard line where Dallas lost a yard on the return. The last punt of the quarter was a massive 63 yard punt landing at the Dallas 21 yard line with no return. Going into the fourth quarter, the Minnesota Grey Ducks were up over the Dallas Birddogs 7-3. The first play in the fourth quarter was a touchdown which Maximus trotted out and successfully buried an extra point attempt between the uprights. This brought his total points this game to a total of 2 points. After a missed field goal by Dallas, a lost fumble by Minnesota and a touchdown with a 2 point conversion by Dallas, Dallas was now only down by 3 and needed a big stop and a field goal to tie the game. They got the big stop with Minnesota having to punt from their own 24 yard line and a minute and a half to just get to field goal range. Gluteus Maximus needed a big punt here to give his defense the chance to get the stop with a little breathing room. Maximus delivered with a critically huge 61 yard punt putting Dallas at their own 14 yard line and over half the field to go to get to field goal range. This punt saved Minnesota the game. The game totals for Maximus were a perfect 2 for 2 for extra points attempted with no field goals attempted this game. On the punting side of the ball, Maximus had 6 punts for 292 yards for an average of 48.7 yards per punt. His longest punt was 63 yards and 3 or 50% of his punts landed inside the 20 with the other 3 being a touchback and 2 inside the 25. Maximus used his powerful leg to keep Minnesota in the game and give the defense a chance to protect their lead. The highlight from this game was the clutch 61 yard punt to put Dallas on their own 14 yard line with a minute and a half to go needing a field goal to force overtime. The biggest critique is not even necessarily on Maximus but on the coach for punting in the first quarter instead of kicking a field goal. Maximus punted from 32 yards out meaning he likely would have been looking at a 49 yard field goal. Maximus just sank a 51 yard field goal last game and even if he does not make it, you're turning the ball over at the 32 yard line which is not a terrible place to turn the ball over.
The third game we will be covering today is a 17 to 12 loss by the Minnesota Grey Ducks to the London Royals. From Minnesota, this game was the Gluteus Maximus show. In the first quarter, Maximus came out to make a 32 yard punt landing at the London 24 yard line that was returned to the London 34 yard line. His next showing in the first quarter was a 38 yard punt putting London back to their 19 yard line. The last thing to talk about in the first quarter is a Maximus non-showing. Minnesota decided to go for it on 4th and 5 on the London 40 yard line. This would have been a far kick for Maximus at 57 yards, but would have been doable, but at least punt the ball! Last game against the Dallas Birddogs, they punted from the 32 yard line, that is 8 yards closer than this attempt at 4th and 5 that was turned over. Back to Maximus though. In the 2nd quarter, Maximus was brought out to make a 21 yard field goal to get Minnesota on the board. This brings his total points this game to 3 points. Maximus was then brought out for a 57 yard field goal (the same distance that he would have kicked had they not gone for it on 4th and 5) and HE MADE IT! This proved even more so that they should have kicked it from the 40 last time they were there. Also, ironically, this time they were 4th and inches on the London 40 yard line instead of 4th and 5. Meaning they kicked it on 4th and inches but went for it on 4th and 5 from the same spot. And they had picked up 3 yards when they went for it on 4th and 5 meaning had they run that play here, they would have had the first down. ANYWAYS, back to the player that matters here which is Gluteus Maximus and not the Minnesota Grey Ducks head coach who should likely be fired. This brought his total points this game to 6 points. Rounding out the first half, Maximus sank a 1 yard field goal this time further embellishing his kicker of the year chances. This brings his total points this game up to 9 points. The second half finally sees some fault with Maximus with him missing a 42 yard field goal. This is his first miss of a field goal under 50 yards this season. He did redeem himself though with a 30 yard field goal later in the 3rd quarter. This brings his total points this game up to 12 points. In the fourth and final quarter, all Maximus had the chance to do was punts once and he made the most of it. Punting from his own 20 yard line, Maximus booted the ball 61 yards to the London 18 yard line. Maximus's final game stats were no extra point attempts, 4 for 5 on field goals, with a 20-29 yard field goal, a 30-39 yard field goal, 40-49 yard field goal, and a 50+ yard field goal and missing a 40-49 yard field goal. Punting wise, Maximus had 3 punts for 131 total punting yards for an average of 43.7 yards per punt with his longest punt being 61 yards and 2 or 67% of his punts being in the 20. The highlight from this game was without a doubt the 57 yard field goal and without getting back onto the topic of the head coach, the Maximus critique from this game was the opening punt. From the Minnesota 44 yard line, I would want a little more than a 32 yard punt, but it was fine, just not great like most of Maximus's punts.
Halfway through the season now, Maximus is a perfect 13 for 13 on extra points, and 14 for 16 on field goals for 87.5%. he's 1 for 1 from under 20 yards, 6 for 6 from 20-29 yards, 4 for 4 from 30-39 yards, 1 for 2 from 40-49 yards, and 2 for 3 from 50 plus yards. His longest field goal is 57 yards. Punting Maximus has 40 punts for a total of 1617 punting yards averaging 40.4 yards per punt with 11 or 27.5% of his punts being inside the 20 and 63 yards being his longest punt.
For Kicker of the Year, Maximus is still going head to head with Izuku Campbell. Both are perfect for extra points with Campbell going 21 for 21 and Maximus going 13 for 13. Campbell has a slight edge on field goal percentage but that is largely from less attempts. Campbell is 9 for 10 going 2 for 3 from 20-29, 2 for 2 from 30-39, and 5 for 5 from 40-49. He has yet to attempt a field goal from less than 20 yards or from 50 or more yards with his longest being a 49 yard field goal. Maximus I believe has the edge here with his 2 for 3 from 50 or more yards out.
For Punter of the year, only Frostsuxlmap has more punts with 42. Frostsuxlmap and Bly have more yards with Frostsuxlmap having 1723 punting yards, and Bly having 1689 punting yards. Maximus has a lower average punt distance than everyone but Campbell. Maximus is also on the lower side of punts inside the 20 percentage and average in sheer punts inside the 20. Maximus does have the longest punt though at 63 yards. Maximus's punting has been getting better so I expect to see him make a push at the award in the second half of the season.

MIN Daniel O’Leary @mango8154 MIN
With another week of DSFL games down, it's time we once again check in on future Austin Copperhead Daniel O'Leary! In this set of games, he went up against the Norfolk Seawolves, Dallas Birddogs, and London Royals. The first game we'll take a look at is his game @ Norfolk in week 5, which ended up being a complete shutout thanks to the defense of the Grey Ducks! As expected, O'Leary contributed in a powerful way, bringing in a sack against the Norfolk QB at the beginning of the third quarter and shutting down any hope Norfolk had coming out of the locker room of trying to build up momentum. It's not easy getting to the QB, especially with the talent OLs have these days, but in usual O'Leary fashion, his strength proves to be too much to handle for any offensive player trying to slow him down!
In the game against the Dallas Birddogs during week 6 at home, O'Leary found himself bringing an end to four separate plays in quite dominant fashion once more! His first tackle of the day came during a 1st and 10 on the Dallas 9 in the first quarter, in which O'Leary tackled the Dallas RB for just a gain of 1. Next, he stopped the RB for just a gain of a few inches during a 1st and 10 on the Dallas 32 in the fourth quarter! Later in that same drive, O'Leary would bring the RB down twice in a row, only allowing 2 yards each time! What makes this especially insane, is that O'Leary has still yet to allow a big play to occur against him. Every tackle he makes is constantly stuffing the RB in their tracks before they can even make an impact. It's some solid defensive work that would make any coach smile.
And finally, in week 7 at home against the powerhouse that is the London Royals, O'Leary went and recorded 3 tackles, with one of those tackles being a tackle for a loss! It seems that O'Leary is Mr.1st and 10, as many of his tackles come in at the very beginning of a drive, and his first tackle of the game in the first quarter is no different as he hit the RB quickly, only allowing a gain of a few inches. Spicing things up though, on his next tackle that came in the third quarter, O'Leary hit the London RB during a 2nd and 6, only allowing a yard! . But then we went right back to his specialty, which had him breaking past the OLine on a 1st and 10 in the fourth to bring down the London RB for a loss of two on the play! Yet again, O'Leary continues to be a big obstacle for anyone trying to rush past him. Any time O'Leary's given the chance to shine, he shines big time with his play and effort, and there's no doubt that as we move into the next set of games, he'll continue performing like the elite he is.

KCC Siege Cameron @cjmccarley KCC
Let’s do a check out of our guy Siege Cameron, the top cornerback from the Kansas City Coyotes, and a future star for the Austin Copperheads. Through four games his team, the Coyotes, are sitting at 1-3 after a disappointing start to the season. Siege had played decent to this point with 25 tackles, 1 Forced Fumble and 6 pass deflections.
In week 5 the Coyotes travelled to Bondi Beach to play the Buccaneers. Siege was able to play his part in keeping the Buccaneers qb to under 200 passing yards with 4 tackles on the day but unfortunately the Coyotes couldn’t pull out the win as they were beat 27-21.
In week 6 it was back to Kansas City for a game against Tijuana. Another great day for Siege and the Kansas City pass defense as they were able to hold Tijuana’s QB to just 85 yards and 3.9 yards per pass. Siege had two tackles on the day but held Tijuana’s top receiver to just 35 yards as Kansas City were able to get the win 27-17.
On to week 7 and it was a Ultimini rematch as the defending champions Dallas Birddogs made the trip to Kansas City. In an excellent all round team performance as Kansas City came away with a 35-24 win, Siege had a eye catching performance with 6 tackles, 2 Pass Deflections and his first Interception of the season. An awesome all round performance from Siege.
At the halfway mark of the season Siege is sitting with 37 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 interception and 8 pass deflections. He’s also helped his team improve to a 3-4 record. A good season so far for the second year player and hopefully a sign of good things to come when he comes up to the ISFL!
