*Previewing the S29 ISFL Draft - KezKincaid - 04-23-2021

The S29 ISFL Draft Early Scouting Report

With Week 10 in the DSFL having passed, the teams in the DSFL are all fighting to position themselves for a playoff run.
However, individually, the players eligible for the S29 ISFL Draft are also trying to establish themselves as appealing potential picks for the Draft,

There is already some separation happening for the top players, with a handful already approaching the 250 Cap, and several more looking to join the 200 club in the remaining weeks of the season.
At this point, not knowing what the Draft Order will be, there is little point in making a mock draft as we do not know what the priority positional needs would be for teams, but we can certainly have a look at who is putting themselves ahead of the pack to be considered as First Round Potential.

The following list is sorted by current TPE counts (disregarding pending updates at the moment) for ease, but it is by no means how the Draft will likely play out.
We've also had a look at where these players were drafted in the DSFL, which may show who have been the big risers and who might have fallen short of their pre-season potential.
Whether Game stats play any factor in determining a player's future potential or not, we've included the major stats for each position and highlighted any individual stats that stand out as top 10 in the league.

Without further ado, we present

Potential 1st Round Picks for S29 ISFL Draft

--------------------

CB - Lip Gallagher (fever 95) - POR - 237 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 14th OV
STATS: 66 Tackles, 1 INT, 15 PD, 1 TD
TOP 10: 3rd in League for Passes Defended
NOTES: A player here who has surpassed his DSFL Draft position, grinding his way to the top of the TPE mountain for this class. With a high number of passes defended, he clearly plays his position well, and should attract a lot of attention from multiple teams.
--------------------

TE - Chevvy Bronko (musha6570) - BBB - 230 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 10th OV
STATS: 48 Receptions for 642 Yds, 3 TDs, 17 Pancakes
TOP 10: 2nd in League for Reception Yards by a TE
NOTES: In a Draft class heavy on Tight Ends, Bronko has risen above the rest with his earnings to establish himself as a likely top 5 pick.
--------------------

RB - Jay Cue Jr. (Opera_Phantom) - NFK - 226 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 1st OV
STATS: 123 Rushing Attempts for 553 Yds, 5 TDs
TOP 10: 10th in League for Rushing Yards, T7th for Rushing TDs
NOTES: Cue Jr. has shared the workload with fellow rookie King, helping to establish a strong 1-2 punch in the running game. Can he repeat as the 1st Overall pick? It is highly possible!
--------------------

RB - Dante King (shadyshoelace) - NFK - 225 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 9th OV
STATS: 102 Rushing Attempts for 496 Yds, 2 TDs
TOP 10: 8th in League for Avg Yds per Rush Attempt
NOTES: Norfolk picked 2 RBs in the top 10 of the DSFL Draft, and they have not been disappointed as King has not shied away from the challenge, sitting neck and neck with Cue in TPE. He has given Norfolk a two-headed beast in the rushing game, and will be an attractive option for ISFL teams looking to add a top-tier rusher.
--------------------

LB - Marcus Jones (Drizzy) - TIJ - 222 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 13th OV
STATS: 77 Tackles, 5 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 INT, 4 PD
TOP 10: 7th in League in Tackles
NOTES: Jones felt rightly slighted to fall out of the first round in the DSFL Draft, but I doubt ISFL teams will alow that to happen. As one of the top defensive prospects, Jones has had a monster season and will be a huge add to any team's defense.
--------------------

QB - Kazimir Oles JR (Oles) - MIN - 220 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 36th OV
STATS: 80/121 for 816 Yds, 6 TDs + 4 INTs, PR = 88.0
TOP 10: 9th in League for Completions and Yards, 2nd in Completion Percentage
NOTES: It can be difficult for a 2nd QB on a team to really make an impact, but Oles JR has managed just that, helping Minnesota to 2nd place in team passing yards on the season. He has made the most of his opportunities and as the best available QB in this Draft, should have a lot of teams checking him out.
--------------------

WR - Quinton Crash (hihihi_62) - KCC - 218 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 15th OV
STATS: 46 Receptions for 782 Yds, 5 TDs
TOP 10: 9th in League in Reception Yds, T10th for Reception TDs
NOTES: Crash has given Kansas City a great WR combo, very consistent and reliable. He is by far the best WR in terms of TPE, and will be a highly sought-after prospect
--------------------

TE - Gronku Muerto (KezKincaid) - TIJ - 206 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 5th OV
STATS: 33 Receptions for 333 Yds, 1 TD, 24 Pancakes
TOP 10: 1st in League for Pancakes by a TE
NOTES: With the number of Tight Ends available in this Draft, Muerto's stats lag a little behind the competition, and he will likely not be drafted as high as he was in the DSFL, but he is still a good option at a position of need for many teams.
--------------------

LB - Tre'Mendus Johnson (allbetsonjames) - BBB - 205 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 2nd OV
STATS: 97 Tackles, 4 TFL, 6 PD, 1 Blocked Punt
TOP 10: Leads the League in Tackles
NOTES: His nose for tracking down the ball carrier and bringing them down is second to none, he has the spped and strength to cover a lot of real estate. Would not be surprised to see him maintain his 2nd OV status.
--------------------

TE - Joey Marston (Capt_Blitzkrieg) - DAL - 201 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 8th OV
STATS: 49 Receptions for 660 Yds, 7 TDs, 13 Pancakes
TOP 10: 1st in League for Rec Yds by a TE, T5th for Reception TDs
NOTES: Marston has been a huge addition to a pass-happy Dallas squad, and makes big plays consistently. Fast and elusive with great hands, he should be an appealing option for any team.
--------------------

TE - Buffalo Hunter (BOOM™) - LON - 201 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 35th OV
STATS: 34 Receptions for 403 Yds, 4 TDs, 15 Pancakes
TOP 10: 5th in League for Receiving Yds by a TE
NOTES: Not to be overlooked, Hunter has been a reliable option for a team which lacks a lot of weapons in the receiving core. He would be a great pickup for any team needing to shore up at this position.
--------------------

K/P - Jean-Jacques Leroy (KanakoTheSquirrel) - TIJ - 197 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 45th OV
STATS: 20/24 FGM/FGA, 15/15 XPM/XPA
TOP 10: 2nd Longest FG Made
NOTES: The best available player at this position, I am unsure what teams might need a kicker, but for any that do, don't look past this guy. Reliable and accurate even from a distance, he has been a difference maker in close games - just what you want from a player in that role.
--------------------

LB - Sam Squanch (EricNCSU) - LON - 192 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 3rd OV
STATS: 74 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 FF, 3 PD
TOP 10: 8th in League for Tackles
NOTES: Despite falling behind in TPE a bit, Squanch plays a tough game and puts up good numbers. Maybe not top 3 again, but certainly should be nabbed in the 1st round.
--------------------

CB - Suggs Upshar (Suggs) - POR - 186 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 6th OV
STATS: 51 Tackles, 3 FF, 1 FR, 10 OD
TOP 10: T4th in League for Forced Fumbles, 9th in League for Passes Defended
NOTES: Another player whose TPE gains don't quite match his DSFL Draft position, but again a reliable player in the CB position, definitely worth a mid to late 1st round pick.
---------------------

DE - Lucid Dream (Luciddreams702) - LON - 182 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 11th OV
STATS: 18 Tackles, 2 TFL, 6 Sacks
TOP 10: T5th in League for Sacks
NOTES: Not a lot of players available at this position, Dream is the best of them, and should attract a lot of scouting attention.
---------------------

QB - Panda McKyle (furiousPanda) - POR - 181 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 30th OV
STATS: 16/25 for 192 Yds, 4 TD + 0 INT, P/R = 127.0
TOP 10: 1st in League in Passer Rating
NOTES: Hasn't been given a lot of opportunity to shine, but he definitely has made the most of his limited opportunities, with a sky-high passer rating, he has definitely shown that he could be a big steal!
---------------------

DT - Will "Brick Wall" Smyth (kingtag1999) - LON - 179 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 19th OV
STATS: 17 Tackles, 1 FF, 1 Sack
TOP 10: N/A
NOTES: Again, not a lot of players available at this position, a team with needs would do well to grab him early.
---------------------

LB - David Frank (IceBear32) - MIN - 178 TPE
DSFL: Drafted 12th OV
STATS: 58 Tackles, 6 TFL, 2 FF, 2 Sacks, 2 INT, 4 PD
TOP 10: 10th in League in tackles, T8th for INT
NOTES: An all-around strong player, he makes life difficult for opposing QBs. LAgging a bit behind some other LBs in TPE, but that shouldn't stop him from being a top pick.
---------------------

Special Mentions:

RB - John Huntsman (Fronk) - MIN - 5th in League Rushing Yds
RB - Fitted Cuddles (cpetrella) - KCC - 6th in League Rushing Yds
WR - Janis Lux (Lukstins88) - MIN - 5th in League in Receiving Yds
CB - Rean Schwarzer (bowlO) - TIJ - 1st in League for Passes Defended
LB - In Active (wuma) - TIJ - 1st in League in Sacks

NOTES: These players might be behind in TPE a bit but their play on the field should give scouts a reason to pay attention.

---------------------

GM Players (2nd rd picks)

CB - *Sir Peter Jackson (ddrector)          - TIJ - 228 (NOL)
QB - *Gimmy Jaroppolo Jr. (Frick_Nasty)    - KCC - 227 (BAL)
RB - *Rejoignez LOrdreSombre (Bayley)      - KCC - 224 (CHI)
DT - *Conner Craig (Dewalt27)              - MIN - 218 (BER)
KP - *Frostsuxlmap (Sylphreni)              - TIJ - 157 (COL)

I think this is accurate as far as which players are GMs in ISFL, which would mean they are automatic 2nd round picks. If I am mistaken about any of them, there is a great chance to see them go high.

So there you have it, let the mocking begin! The mock drafts I mean, but you can mock me, too, if you want Sad
