*The Bell Tolls for Burton - Thelastheraclid - 04-28-2021

A potential new star has entered the ISFL universe. After awaking from a terrible nightmare of meeting his fate in bus crash, a high school aged Cliff Burton put down his bass guitar and instead dedicated his life to the beautiful game of football.

The transition from the stage to the gridiron was an arduous one. Cliff has always been a wiry lad. In the early days, he regularly got lit up before he figured out his game. Using his bass playing style as inspiration, Burton focused his style on being quick and agile just as his fingers had been.

With a new focus for developing his game, Cliff quickly rose up the depth chart of the Castro Valley High School team emerging as one of the finer young wide receivers in California. After high school, Cliff had his fair share of suitors when it came to playing college ball. Cliff wanted to see the world but also have a place that was close to home. Keeping that in mind, he decided to play for UCLA. Burton played his freshman year at UCLA and felt that he had surpassed the competition. By no means is that a dig at the NCAA players. If Cliff isn’t being truly challenged he isn’t happy. Wanting to play against the best and continue growing into an elite wide receiver, Burton decided to drop out of school and enter DSFL before his draft season to get thrown into the deep end and get a step up on his future competition.

Once making himself available to the DSFL, Burton was picked up by the Tijuana Luchadores and has been working hard to get up to game shape to help the Luchadores in their playoff push that is on the horizon.

Regardless of how this season goes, Burton is looking to make himself a serious contender for #1 for his draft class.
