*JJ Slasher - The Small, Overlooked Receiver With Blazing Fast Speed - Pooter - 05-03-2021

Standing 5"11, Slasher isn't a dominating presence. He's well put together, but slender in stature. JJ has never been the one dominate a game by boxing out defenders on one-on-one jump balls. From his start as an 8 year old Pee Wee football player, Slasher has always relied on his truly special gift: incredible speed and agility. While his 40-yard dash has never been laser-timed, rumor has it Slasher can run in the 4.2 range. Over time, JJ Slasher has honed in his speed to use as a weapon on the football field. Straight line vertical routes can defeat easy competition, but throughout his high school and college days he focused in on his route-running abilities. He completely dominated high school competition in the state of Alabama. His senior year he lead his team to the state finals, but unfortunately lose on a last second field goal.

Slasher had received many scholarship offers across the country, including the likes of Alabama and Florida. After much consideration, he decided to stay in his hometown of Birmingham and committed to the UAB Blazers. As much as it was a family decision, it was also a football decision. Many of these other schools had loaded receiver rooms with 5 star guys; truly stiff competition for a borderline 3 star like Slasher. Over time, by using his incredible speed and quickness with sophisticated routes, Slasher separated himself as the clear cut #1 receiver at UAB. He rewrote the receiving record books at the school and dazzled fans in the process. He was named first-team all conference 3 out of his 4 years at the school.

But even then, Slasher has been overlooked due to both his size and coming from a smaller school. With the draft soon approaching, JJ Slasher hopes he can wow scouts just as he did to those fans back in Birmingham.
