Peter Brand steps to the podium in a Silverbacks press hall buzzing with life; notably absent from the room is his usual companion, veteran defensive tackle Bubba Thumper. Brand takes a deep breath to collect himself, then taps the microphone to catch the attention of the room.

"As y'all know, this will be my final press conference as a general manager of the New York Silverbacks. So, now or never, I suppose; let's get to business."
