James Angler was instrumental in all the success the Sarasota Sailfish took in S27. This was the year the perennial Pro Bowler would finally win a positional award, and the Sailfish would finally take home their first franchise Ultimus win.
James Angler was an elite receiving option for the young Mike Boss Jr; and his work on the field alone would be a good enough reason to write this article. With nearly 1200 yards and 8 TDs, he was the best TE in the league in S27. He was SAR’s clear #2 option, and helped Boss pass the coveted 4000 yard mark. James Angler had the most catches, and targets in the Ultimus game against NOLA. This proves James’s importance to the team, and what he brings to the team in high intensity games such as this Ultimus. James “elite” Angler’s ability to always require a double team allowed for other receivers to get open, such as the non elite Micahel Witheblock and RaphFRAUDia Chan. James Angler is also one of the better blocking TEs, unleashing an elite 2 pancakes in the 34-10 beatdown of the Second Line. Those two pancakes happened on both of Chan and Back’s TD runs (source: tMoose), and without him they could have fumbled, turning the tide of the game. James Angler is a true team player and an inspiration to all, including both receivers and blockers.
James Angler is more than just a great player on the field. James is a team captain and is always there to get the team hyped. During the Sailfish’s elite Ultimus run, he contributed heavily to Raphtalia Chan’s morale, and subsequently the OPOTY award that came with the morale. I, as Raphtalia Chan’s best friend and trusted friend, have to say that without James Angler both blocking for and assisting Raph, then he would never have won any awards, and would likely have remained as one of the worst RBs in the league. Additionally, James Angler bought all of the Sarasota Sailfish organization massive Lamborghinis with his updater salary (insider training???) BEFORE the Ultimus game, and stated that if we were to lose, he would take them back. This was enough motivation for the Sailfish to annihilate NOLA in the nationally publicized Ultimus game. And the defensive lineman in particular got a special treat of daily memes from the meme connoisseur James Angler.
Simply put, without James Angler the Sarasota Sailfish do not win the Ultimus, and it is very likely they do not even make the playoffs. I as the GM, cannot thank him enough for the love he shows to the franchise.
