*The History of DSFL Logos - Starboy - 05-14-2021 Hey again! So originally this was all going to be one big post but messed up when submitting and decided that the break between ISFL and DSFL logos seemed like a good fit instead. Similar to the other article, I dug through old forum posts and the index in order to find all of these and make sure I dated them properly. I will also be giving notes on some logos if needed and don't really worry about grading this one either. Here we go again. BONDI BEACH BUCCANEERS
Note: Originally the Chicago Blues, the first logo did have a blue variant, but from what I saw the black version was used by the Chicago GM at the time. As a fun fact, I believe the Buccaneers have had the most relocations out of any ISFL team.
DALLAS BIRDDOGS
KANSAS CITY COYOTES
Note: There was almost a move to Chicago with the Coyotes which would've resulted in a logo similar to the first but with red and silver instead of the iconic purple and yellow. However, that move was shut down and the logo only exists among the old Kansas City people.
LONDON ROYALS
MINNESOTA GREY DUCKS
Note: Just for any new members that might not be aware, the original Minnesota team was the San Antonio Marshals which was one of the top DSFL teams around with many of the league's top members.
NORFOLK SEAWOLVES
PORTLAND PYTHONS
Note: So when digging around, I managed to find the purple snake logo from engimatic with a few other team logos being designed. I was not exactly sure how long that logo got used but it seems that the yellow snake logo doesn't pop up in the index until S5 so I think that the purple snake was used prior to that. If I'm wrong then the yellow snake was used throughout the team's beginning and the purple snake remains as a look back in history.
TIJUANA LUCHADORES
RE: The History of DSFL Logos - mithrandir - 05-14-2021 Why change logos when you get the first one right? RE: The History of DSFL Logos - GlimsTC - 05-14-2021 Gotta give a lot of credit to the Luchadores, their logo really is timeless. Despite being the oldest, it still blends in perfectly with all the more upgraded logos. It's pretty insane. And as for Kansas, I'm really really glad the move got rejected. Couldn't imagine a league without the purple and gold. Honestly though, I still really like the first logo for the team. If we ever change logos again, I'd kinda love to find a way to get a logo like that, just maybe a bit less old looking? Thanks for digging all of these up, Star! RE: The History of DSFL Logos - furiousPanda - 05-14-2021 the S26 Portland logo is fire RE: *The History of DSFL Logos - PDXBaller - 05-20-2021 Purple Pythons logo was only used for S3. I had it promptly changed in S4! |
