*Erupting from the Cocoon - Alcott - 05-17-2021

Over the course of the previous two seasons in the DSFL, Cole Maxwell has been honing his skills on the defensive side of the ball. Primarily positioned at free safety, Cole has also spent some time at corner back, allowing him to cause havoc for the opposing offenses from anywhere in the defensive backfield at a rate good enough to be in the running for the DSFL Safety of the Year (even making it passed the first round of voting). However, something happened during his second season in the DFSL that fundamentally changed the way Cole was playing the game. He scored. Twice even. Cole managed to take two of his three interceptions in S29 back for touchdowns, and a feeling he hadn't had since college came flooding back. Cole loved to score, sure defense is great and being able to enforce your will on the offense to shut them down and keep points off the board is magnificent in its own right, but it just doesn't have the same zip as putting up points yourself. So with those feelings weighing heavy on his head and heart, Cole has made the decision to switch positions and become a wide receiver for the Colorado Yeti. He has emerged from his DSFL cocoon as a beautiful offensive machine ready to rack up yards and touchdowns in the ISFL. That isn't the only change Cole has underwent though. In a massively controversial decision, Cole has also elected to undergo completely voluntary plastic surgery to transform his features and feel more like who he is on the inside. Cole started the day looking very similar to previous Penn State and NFL fringe player Troy Apke, but ended the day strongly resembling Super Bowl champion Scotty Miller, previously of Bowling Green University and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. Was this a prudent decision, to risk a budding career on superficial cosmetic surgery? Probably not, but as Prime Time said "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good", and boy does Cole look good in his new position and body.
