I'd be fine with changing it, but itd also mean you have 7 days to complete it instead of 10, so if thats fine with people, then sure.

My keyboard sucks and I fat fingered it. Whoops. Proofread it like 5 times and still missed that cause I'm used to it being 33 votes.

What purpose does rule 2 actually serve?

It's to clearly define that no player trades are allowed in a specific window. Before, there was no such language in the rulebook around when trades are allowed again after the trade deadline. Some trades had been allowed once both teams involved were out of playoff contention which it was rightly pointed out could give them an advantage in negotiations versus a team who is not yet allowed to trade. This just makes it more consistent and clear for everyone.

Yeah but it doesn't do that. Teams can still negotiate even if they can't announce. And you didn't cut off pick trading so the same issues still exist there.

This didn't really accomplish the stated goals.

I feel like it does make it both clear (by including it in the rulebook explicitly) and consistent for everyone (by holding all teams to the same timeline). Agree to disagree?

Yep. No problem with that personally. Negotiating isn't something we should be trying to stop teams doing.

What issues?

RE: S29 Rules Summit - AdamS - 05-31-2021

teams in the playoffs still have the same trade disadvantages they did before

the lack of being able to announce player trades doesnt change that
