This is all really new for me so we will see how it all goes.

Preseason and week 1 Tijuana Luchadores Recap and game balls.

For our first week in the preseason we faced the Portland Pythons whom we beat 19 to 3. As you can tell by the score, not a whole lot of offense to go around in this one for either team.

An honorable mention was our quarterback IsHe... ReallyInvisible while he didn't get a whole lot going in the game, only 18/38 for 172 yards in the air, he broke out a huge play with a 67 yard touchdown run in the second quarter, finishing with 3 carries for 79 yards and the highlight reel touchdown. The offense gameball for Tijuana went to our kicker, who went 4/5 on field goals, and converted his only extra point for 13 of our 19 points here.

On the defensive side of the ball our gameball goes to Marcus Jones, who had a monster game helping to hold the pythons in check, with one of our 6 sacks, along with 3 tackles for loss. We also had a strong showing by Sir Peter Jackson, reigning CBOTY, where he had 3 tackles and 4 PD's in his debut this season.

We got some game action with a lot of great new talent from our rookies on both sides of the ball. Here is some of the stats from our rookies in their debuts!
CMC's Burner got a lot of work as the primary running back but unfortunately didn't have much to show for it this game with 20 carries for just 21 yards.
Miracle Whip had 3 carries for 7 yards.
Jason Waterfalls caught 4 of 8 passes for 54 yards.
Rex Crenshaw caught all 3 passes that went his way for 17 yards.
Rainbow Atchinson caught just 3 of 11 targets for 40 yards.

On the defensive side our "rookie" Sheriff Woody had a good game with 4 tackles and a PD

In our second game of the preseason Tijuana suffered their only setback where we fell 28-26 to the Norfolk Seawolves.
Tijuana was down 28-13 after 3 quarters only to fall short in their comeback by just 2 points after the 2 point conversion failed with just 19 seconds left.

The offensive gameball goes to our QB IsHe... ReallyInvisible with his strong game airing the ball out 38/56 for 422 yards and 3 touchdowns with one interception. Our rookies made a much bigger impact on the offense this game with Rainbow Atchinson leading the team in yards catching 11 of his 15 targets for 131 yards this game. Jason Waterfalls also had a very strong game bringing in 9 of his team leading 17 targets for 110 yards and the touchdown that almost brought us all the way back. Gronku Muerto got into strong form with catching 6 of his 9 targets for 52 yards and 2 touchdowns today.

On the defensive side of the ball we struggled much more while we only allowed 99 passing yards, Norfolk had a dominant run game with 273 yards on the ground. Our defensive gameball goes to Gyles Marret who had 4 tackles and a sack. Sheriff Woods, Sir Peter Jackson, and Rean Schwarzer all recorded a PD in the game as well.

In our third preseason game we dominated the Bondi Beach Buccaneers as is the norm, 48-10 where we had 3 interceptions returned for touchdowns in the rout. Our Offensive gameball goes to QB IsHe... ReallyInvisible, while we didn't put up a ton of yards this game he ran for 2 touchdowns here. CMC's Burner had a nice game as well where he had 58 rushing yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball we dominated BBB, forcing 5 interceptions while running 3 of them back as well.
Sheriff Woody earned the gameball this week with a monster performance with 8 tackles, 2 PD's, 2 interceptions while returning one of them, for touchdowns. Rean Schwarzer was able to snag one of the 5 interceptions and 2 PD's while our other 2 interceptions(both for touchdowns) came from our bots LiterallyJust ABot, and Cornerback Industries.

In our final preseason game we faced off against the Kansas City Coyotes where we won a shootout 44-31. Our offensive gameball this week goes to QB IsHe... ReallyInvisible with 320 yards passing, 4 touchdowns and an interception while also having 39 rushing yards and another touchdown. Jason Waterfalls had another excellent game by catching all 7 of his targets for 98 yards with 2 receiving touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball we made some nice plays by getting 3 interceptions and recovering a fumble. Our defensive gameball goes to Marcus Jones who had 3 tackles, a sack, a PD, forced and recovered that fumble. Our dominating cornerback duo Sir Peter Jackson and Rean Scwarzer both had strong outings as well getting an interception each.

Now onto our regular season debut against the Portland Pythons, this game was much closer then our preseason matchup, but we prevailed 10-9. The offensive gameball goes to Gronky Muerto our standout second year tight end who was able to keep the offense moving when we had 3 turnovers today, with 7 catches on 10 targets for 97 yards to show he should continue to be a feature of this offense. Rainbow Atchinson was able to get 84 yards but only caught 6 of his 19 targets.

On the defensive side we forced no turnovers but were able to hold their entire offense down only allowing a total of 209 yards on the day. Gyles Marret was the recipient of our defensive gameball today with a strong performance with 4 tackles, a TFL, and a sack on the day. Sir Peter Jackson had 2 PD's and Rean managed to get one PD as well.

Hope everyone enjoyed!
