*ISFL Kicker Ranking (S27-S29) - xenosthelegend - 07-04-2021

Wow, it has been a while since I have written media. Anyway, this will be a ranking of every kicker who kicked at least one extra point or field goal in the ISFL from S27-S29. A few things to remember, the way I weighted things is not how others may weigh them, this list also does not take into account game scenario, it just looks at the stats. The list is also unkind to those who did not play three seasons.

A link to the spreadsheet can be found here.

19: Dallas Dole
Team: Orange County Otters
Extra Points: 48/49
Field Goals: 18/27
Points Scored: 102
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 180

Dallas Dole's rookie season was a rough one, while he only missed one extra point while attempting nearly 50, he had the lowest field goal percentage in the league by 9.1% lower than the guy ahead of him. There are some positives though, if you remove his attempts from 50+, his field goal percentage jumps up to 81.8%, good enough to move him up 4 spots. This was also his rookie season, so he should only improve from here.

18: Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname
Team: Orange County Otters
Extra Points: 38/39
Field Goals: 26/30
Points Scored: 116
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 232

A veteran riding off into the sunset in his final season. Dasistwirklichseinnachname was unable to pull off an incredible final season, but still a respectable performance. Missing only 4 field goals, and a single extra point deep into regression is a great performance. Unfortunately the model is unkind to those who did not play all 3 seasons, and Dasistwirklichseinnachname is near the bottom of this list.

17: Cade York
Team: Arizona Outlaws
Extra Points: 50/51
Field Goals: 33/36
Points Scored: 149
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 308

Cade York is a rookie who had a great season. Attempting 87 total kicks (4th highest in the league), and only missing 4 of them. Cade York showed great promise in his rookie season, having the most points scored of any rookie this season, and the highest field goal percentage of any rookie (and 2nd highest in the league) this season.

16: Datsum Phastbawls
Team: Baltimore Hawks, Orange County Otters
Extra Points: 62/63
Field Goals: 37/54
Points Scored: 173
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 316

Datsum Phastbawls did not have great performances either season he played in. In S27, he did not miss an extra point, he only had to attempt 24 though. Where it gets really bad though is in field goals, he went 12/22. His 54.5% field goals made is 25.5 percentage points lower than the second least accurate kicker that season. He was also the only kicker to miss multiple times from the 20-29 yard range, and the only one who had a <50% chance to make a field goal from beyond 40 yards. His S28 was significantly better, while still being last in field goal percentage, he was a whole 22.6 percentage points better than last season. He missed an extra point, and was still the most unreliable long distance kicker in the league.

15: Armando Galarraga
Team: Baltimore Hawks
Extra Points: 60/64
Field Goals: 41/48
Points Scored: 183
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 365

Armando Galarraga leads the league in missed extra points over the last 3 seasons while only having played in 2. That being said, he is one of the more reliable kickers from 40+ only missing 4 from that time span. But that may be due to attempting only 48 field goals total over the past 3 seasons. This past season he had the fourth lowest field goal percentage. That being said, he is still young, and can be a great kicker in the future.

14: Taipan Pete
Team: New Orleans Second Line
Extra Points: 44/44
Field Goals: 30/33
Points Scored: 134
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 100
Performance Points: 380

At 14 we have our third rookie, Taipan Pete. One of only 3 players to not miss an extra point in the ISFL over the last 3 seasons, he gained 100 bonus points. As a rookie, Taipan Pete had the 4th highest field goal percentage in the league this season. The model ranks him as the second best rookie kicker, I disagree, I view him as the best. After his promising rookie season, he should be a contender for kicker of the year in the near future.

13: Lux Opal
Team: Colorado Yeti
Extra Points: 50/50
Field Goals: 34/40
Points Scored: 152
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 100
Performance Points: 404

The final rookie on this list, Lux Opal took over for someone who we will be seeing very soon. As a rookie, Lux Opal attempted the third most field goals in the league this season, and missed 6 of them. This should not be a major concern as all of his misses came from 40+, where he had half of his attempts. Another rookie with a promising season where he should compete for kicker of the year in the near future.

12: Pseudo QB
Team: New Orleans Second Line
Extra Points: 81/83
Field Goals: 55/67
Points Scored: 246
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 481

With the first big jump in performance points we have our first player who played in 3 seasons. He didn't really do much in S29, but he did kick an extra point and 3 field goals, so I'm counting it. For the 2 full seasons he played he remained consistent, going 81.1% and 81.5% on field goals. Not really a lot to say here other than you could trust him most of the time from short-mid range, 40+ things got a bit more difficult as he missed 10 kicks from that range.

11: J.J 'Jay' Jay-Jaymison
Team: Arizona Outlaws
Extra Points: 103/105
Field Goals: 56/63
Points Scored: 271
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 541

That's a fun name. J.J 'Jay' Jay-Jaymison, who I will now refer to as Jay for the rest of this, in S27 had the 5th highest field goal percentage in the league. In S28, he attempted 58 extra points, and made 57 extra points, both of which are most in a single season over the past 3 seasons in the ISFL.

10: Silver Banana
Team: Colorado Yeti
Extra Points: 94/96
Field Goals: 63/75
Points Scored: 283
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 552

Silver Banana rounds out our list of players who started 2 seasons, but that doesn't mean he wasn't great. In S27 Silver Banana attempted, and made all 52 of his extra point attempts. He also went 5/6 on 40-49 yard attempts that season. The next, and also his final season, he went 11/12 from the same distance.

Now we get into starters for all 3 seasons, performance points are going to jump again.

9: Dougie Smalls
Team: New York Silverbacks
Extra Points: 117/120
Field Goals: 83/97
Points Scored: 366
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 729

Dougie Smalls has been a bit inconsistent over the past 3 seasons, but he had an incredible highest point. In S28, he led the league in field goal percentage with 92.9%. He was also a perfect 14/14 from 40-49 yards. One season before that he had 86.4% field goals, and one season after that he had an abysmal 75.8% field goals. When he is on one of his highs, he should be a contender for kicker of the year, but he also has incredible lows.

8: Blago Kokot
Team: Yellowknife Wraiths
Extra Points: 148/150
Field Goals: 80/91
Points Scored: 388
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 0
Performance Points: 787

Blago Kokot, the only player not named Datsum Phastbawls who has missed from 20-29 yards multiple times, and also the only player who has made multiple 63 yard field goals. Over the past 3 seasons, he has gone 40/52 from 40+ yards. While somehow managing to be better from 30-39 yards than 20-29 yards. Blago Kokot led the league in field goal percentage this season, but attempted the second least amount of field goals with 22.

7: Leo Bloomfield
Team: Austin Copperheads
Extra Points: 121/121
Field Goals: 80/96
Points Scored: 361
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 100
Performance Points: 806

Leo Bloomfield is the only player to have played in the last 3 seasons who never missed an extra point. He has also only gotten better each season, going from 80% field goals made, to 83.9% field goals made, to 88% field goals made. He looks to once again improve next season, and compete for kicker of the year. He has also been very consistent with his accuracy from 50+ yards over the past 2 seasons, going 2/3 and 2/4.

6: Venus Powers
Team: Honolulu Hahalua
Extra Points: 109/110
Field Goals: 91/100
Points Scored: 382
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 50
Performance Points: 833

Venus powers has missed only a single extra point over the past 3 seasons. She has also had a peak accuracy of 94.1% field goals in S27, good enough for 3rd that season. Only 3 players have had a higher field goal percentage for an entire season since then. Over the past 3 seasons Venus Powers has been great from 50+ yards, going 13/16 from that distance.

5: Danny King
Team: Berlin Fire Salamanders
Extra Points: 129/131
Field Goals: 94/104
Points Scored: 411
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 200
Performance Points: 1048

From S27-S28, Danny King had incredible field goals made consistency, with 93.8% and 92.3%, the second of which was 2nd in the league that season. This season, Danny King both attempted, and made the most extra points. But his field goals made percentage dropped to 84.8%. If he can find his S28 form again, where he went 8/8 on attempts from 50+ yards, he should compete for kicker of the year.

4: Sam Sidekick
Team: Chicago Butchers
Extra Points: 124/126
Field Goals: 93/107
Points Scored: 403
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 325
Performance Points: 1149

In S27, Sam Sidekick had the second highest field goal percentage in a single season over the past 3 seasons, 96.6%. It has been a downward path since then, 87.5%, and 78.9%. Sam Sidekick has been great from 40+ yards, going 46/58 over the past 3 seasons.

3: Matthew McDairmid
Team: San Jose Sabercats
Extra Points: 113/115
Field Goals: 108/122
Points Scored: 437
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 325
Performance Points: 1178

Matthew McDairmid's S27 and S28 are incredibly close to each other in field goals made percentage, at 89.5% and 89.4%. Over the past 3 seasons he has attempted, and made the most field goals from 50+ yards, going 19/25 from that distance. He is also perfect from under 40 yards over the past 3 seasons.

2: Jacob Small
Team: Sarasota Sailfish
Extra Points: 157/159
Field Goals: 103/120
Points Scored: 466
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 300
Performance Points: 1227

Jacob Small has not only been an anomaly punting, but has also been an incredible kicker over the past 3 seasons. Missing only 2 of his 159 extra point attempts (most in the league over the past 3 seasons). And being great from every field goal distance, going 37/50 from 40+ yards, Small should be a contender for kicker of the year every season.

1: Jake Fencik
Team: Philadelphia Liberty
Extra Points: 105/107
Field Goals: 95/105
Points Scored: 390
Bonus From Leading in a Category: 450
Performance Points: 1258

What Jake Fencik lacks in volume stats, he more than makes up for by making an absolute mockery of long range kicks. While being perfect from less than the 40 yard line. Jake Fencik has made 36 field goals from the 40-49 yard range over the last 3 seasons. Only one other player has more attempts from that range. Jake Fencik is also the only player to have missed a single attempt from 50+ yards over the past 3 seasons.

That is the list, I will be back with more media to fund T6 equipment.
