RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - ddrector - 07-15-2021

First I have to talk about @JuOSu and @TomHanks who drafted me to the Second Line. They were both influential in keeping me active early on and getting me to the place where I ended up joining the war room and then eventually became the GM of the team. I next have to shout out @slothfacekilla, @terriblehippo, and @Jay_Doctor who were all integral parts of the war room for many seasons. @mithrandir is now my partner in crime as GM of NOLA and he has been a superstar in that position. Many times has he stepped up to get stuff done when I have slacked off. Another war room member that has been an excellent addition to the group is @AdamS who is always willing to speak his mind even if it might not be the most popular opinion. @GuitarMaster116 not only was my DSFL GM with my most recent player in Tijuana, but has also been an excellent addition to the NOLA war room and along with @dude_man has been great players to continue to tradition of excellent offensive line players in NOLA. Next I have to shout out @Slothman07 who is one of the only free agents that we have successfully signed in NOLA in the past 10+ seasons. He is now going to be the #1 corner back on the defense, which is a spot that is extremely important and has produced multiple award winners recently. A couple of guys in the NOLA locker room I have to shout out are @Birdman and @MobiausGrander who are great members of our defensive line and both are passionate about the success of the team. Lastly I have to shout out @IsaStarcrossed and @bex who were both on the Norfolk Seawolves with me our first season in the league and I probably wouldn't have stuck around to stay active in the league without them.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - HalfEatenOnionBagel - 07-15-2021

I joined the ISFL 4 years ago in real life years and it has been a journey and just a great time.

First of all I gotta mention my sweet sweet @captjanko. I am so thankful for you my brother. I'm really glad that you've joined the league and are having such a good time. First round pick in DSFL!! Have fun, don't forget it's about the FUN.

From the early days, shoutout to ISFL OG @Ballerstorm for bringing the league to life. I still see you out there on r/dynastyff, keep doin ya thang.  Thank you @Silver Fox and @adam2552 for taking a chance on me in the S2 draft as someone brand new to sim leagues. That Philly team was a blast to be on and help build up to an Ultimus winner. The locker room there was fantastic with me and the Toleso boys @Oles, @124715 and of course the indomitable @Perry87. Could not have asked for a better first taste of sim leagues and it really got me hooked....hence the still being here years later.

@Muford you might be my favorite person in the league and I don't know really know why honestly, maybe cause you're just a chill guy. Since we were both OL in that S2 draft, you felt to me like a rival at that point but now that I've mellowed out a lot, I'm glad we have gotten to finally team up and I've enjoyed sharing a LR with ya.

Actually no @Ben I think you're really my favorite person in the league. Just such a good dude. What was I thinking? Muford, really?

@nunccoepi and @iseedoug you two were my DSFL GMs in Tijuana with Hondo and I gotta say you two did a hell of a job with that team and really helped me get back into the league after being kind of jaded for a while from some of the early drama the league saw. I really don't know if I would have stuck with it after being hesitant if it wasn't for that team.  With Hondo I was inactive on and off a bit, life was just kind of crazy but I have to say thank you to @iamslm22 who knew I was gonna be out of commission at the time but found a way to get me on the Ultimus winning Baltimore Hawks team. Had a blast with you in PBE as well with Gamble.

With OFF I found myself in the unfortunate Chicago quagmire. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we built that team back up and playing for the Butchers throughout OFF's entire career has been a real treat. Muford and @Bayley you two have been great GMs for the team, thanks for helping me be part of the process as a war room member and just being all around great people in the sim league community for such a long time. So many good teammates there I could go on about. First of all my boy Oles coming back to Chicago, what a total babe. The legend @Blueline, thanks for sticking with the team through some really frustrating seasons. My protege @TheCC, the student has now become the master. My partner in crime, hype man and also now fellow S31 (the best) class fellow draftee @LimJahey. The most interesting man in the world and the prodigal son @IthicaHawk. The man responsible for making me change :rotatinglight: GAME DAY :rotatinglight: to :rotatinglight: GAME 24 HOUR PERIOD :rotatinglight: @indonesianhusker. TE GANG GANG GANG member and definitely not serial killer @"RenoJacksonHS". Evok, the GOAT @Evok. Mr Lawnmower himself @MrStennett.

RIP to @RedCydranth, I will always remember doing the prospect draft with you. That was a great time. Know that the league remembers you fondly.

And of course last but not least a shoutout to someone that shares my affinity for annular breakfast foods @FleshBagSoup.

I am very thankful for the many wonderful people in this league and that it still continues strong to this day. Sure yes we are here playing a football game online or whatever, but what we really are is a community. I definitely don't interact with everyone on a deep level but I know if I was ever struggling I could open up to people here and find an overwhelming amount of support. This last year was shitty for everyone, it's good to know there are always good people out here.

Running out of time to do this so if I don't mention you I apologize, just DM me and I will give you a compliment or something.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Seymour - 07-15-2021

When I was thinking about this point task, there are four names that really stand out to me right from the get-go.

@SchwarzNarr - was the first Rookie Mentor that I reached out to when I first started in the ISFL. Schwarz was so nice to me and so helpful that I really put effort into creating Bean. There were so many questions that I think back to that were so silly but Schwarz never made it feel that way. Later on, I went to Norfolk and Schwarz was also in there and continued to help myself navigate the forums but also the discords.

@J0EB and @Jimi64 are the next two that really made a change for me. They took a chance on Bean and myself - coming out of nowhere and using an early pick on me was risky as I was so new. Both of J0eb and Jimi made me feel at home in Norfolk. Both of their DMs were always open for me to ask questions about the league and the team. I remember offering to them that they could trade me if they wanted to get value before I went up to the league. But they did not want to because they preferred having myself in the locker-room rather than acquiring future picks. They really help me create Bean and help me find my footing in the league. But I will never forget coming into the locker-room to find my Discord tag being changed to Seym0ur... so many good memories.

Finally there is @Blasoon - Blas really took a chance on myself and Bean. I will always be grateful for being given this chance. Blas apparently battled very hard to get Bean into OCO which is very kind and amazing. Going to OCO was one of the best things that could have happened. Blas has always been extremely nice and always wanting to help anyone. He answered a lot of the silly questions as well and didn't make me feel bad about it.

The ISFL is really lucky to have all four of these people in the league because they helped me feel at home when I was a fresh newb to the ISFL. I can't thank you all enough but thank you.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Vorshayla - 07-15-2021

There are quite a few people to mention that have made my stay in this league a fairly memorable one.

@RainDelay for first introducing me to the league, thinking that I would be the perfect guy to roleplay a brash trash talking player, (which isn't really too far off from my personal life)
@SabaDonutMan for drafting me as high as he did in my first DSFL draft without knowing anything about me, only the fact that MB wanted me because of Rain and Saba hate drafted me lol
@jeffie43 for very quickly playing along with a feud between our two players since he was the consensus number 1, and I thought he'd be a bust (I mean, I have 2 rings and he still doesn't have one, so maybe I was right about that) Jeff also became a fast friend and one of my most favorite users in the league
@scorycory also for playing along with the feud and for trading for me in my rookie year out of Portland and into MB at the time.  He was the hotshot 2nd year player that blew away the league when I first came in and I was having none of it, just a loud mouthed rookie who hadn't done ANYTHING to that point and picking fights with easily the most decorated CB in the DSFL at the time, the fact that he was willing to play along just made it so much sweeter
@Frostbite for also making the trade for me after I wanted out of Portland, gave up 2 assets for my ass and I will forever the thankful to him for that
@"KanakoTheSquirrel" for taking my trade request seriously and working to make that a reality trying to rebuild Portland by giving up an active CB was hard to do but Kanako did right by me and that act alone kept me engaged in the league during my very first season

There are scores of other users, people like @bex who answered all my questions when they would come up, which was a lot and I'm pretty sure it got annoying at some point for her, to others who invited me to play werewolf with them on discord which was just a treat to see how people interacted with each other outside of the football genre. @ckroyal92 for drafting me so high with my first player in San Jose and for working his butt off to get my inactive ass 2 rings with the team just so I could hold it over Jeffie.

I think it's the sum of the users in this community that make this league feel very involved and appreciated and while this PT is a step away from my habit of always talking about myself, I feel like this is a good time for me to really thank the people who have made this league fun for me and kept me engaged for almost 2 real life years now.

So this is the only time I'll say these words since I have a rep to maintain, but thank you from the bottom of my heart, and let's see if we can't keep this thing going so we can read about some random rookie enjoying the league as much as I have in 2 years from now.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - Amidships - 07-16-2021

I have always been really bad at this sort of thing; both on the giving and receiving side. I will instead keep things a bit more general.

First off, I want to thank the folks who welcomed me into this league and into their private sanctum, the Tijuana Luchadores. It was a great place to begin my journey filled with a bunch of great people. My fellow waiver claims were excellent, the team veterans, team management, and alumni were all a ton of fun to meet and interact with. It really kept me involved and made me want to stick around and come back to the best international DSFL team in the draft that year.

Speaking of the draft; I met several new people while being scouted. Talking with these GMs, scouts, and other members of the community solidified my interest and kept me involved. At the same time, I was pulled into the events graphics team and met a bunch of cool people there as well. Working with those guys throughout the years was nothing short of awesome, and I am so thankful for their welcome to the league and helping me earn at the level I wanted to.

While I didn't wind up back in Tijuana, I found another locker room to to call home and another group of users to call family. In Dallas, I finally found the people I wanted to hang out with for the rest of my sim career. The people I was drafted with were awesome; we worked hard to replace the vets that had all been called up and while we didn't have much success, we knew we did what we could for the team. The people that came along later, particularly the ones I had the privilege to help draft as a war room member, were and are some of the best people I've met in this league. A lot of them are the reasons I'm still around today.

Inevitably, I would need to find a place in the ISFL. I had a great scouting talk with Baltimore and was almost positive I'd be going there in the draft. I was right, and had a great time there. The team was struggling, but most people knew and were bought in on the rebuild. Unfortunately, several events happened including expansion, an incredible offer that lured me away, and leadership turnover which all lead to me leaving. I'll always look back fondly on my time with Baltimore and the people I met there. It was an honor playing alongside them.

The hardest thing to write about is Austin. It's been a wild ride to say the least. The people that I've had the pleasure of GMing have worked their asses off to make the team better and are some of the best people I know on or offline. Words can't express how thankful I am to each and every one of them for their efforts and contributions to this team. We've had ups and downs, but I can't imagine doing it with anyone else.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - PigSnout - 07-16-2021

I won't bother people with tags, but I thought it would be fun for this task to look back throughout my time in the league at the people who have helped me accomplish what I have accomplished.

I guess the first person on the list would be Ballerstorm for creating the league in the first place. And to Raven for posting the Reddit Recruitment post that allowed me to learn about the league, as it was the first sim league I have joined. And there are too many people to list here, but I have to give thanks to the Head Office members who have helped keep the league running during my time here.

I'd also like to thank all of the General Managers I've played for. I won't list them all out since the list would be pretty long, but I have enjoyed playing for every GM I've had the opportunity to play under and I am grateful to them for allowing me to be a part of their teams and for building strong teams that have given me the chance to see some on the field success. And likewise I am grateful to all the teammates that I have gotten to play with during my time in this league. I've gotten to win a few championships and have been a part of some truly special teams and none of that would have been possible without all of the members of those teams contributing.

Another area of the league where I have gotten to participate is in league jobs. I was a Media Grader for a long time. It was fun to get to play an active role in the league's media structure and to get to make a real impact on the grading process. I'd like to thank bovovovo for hiring me as a grader in the first place and JKortesi81 for serving as Media Head for the majority of my time on the grading team.

I've also been an updater for a long time. It's been very interesting getting to play an active role in the player updating process and to see how updates on the forum get transferred into the sim. It's also been cool getting to follow the careers of certain players and watch them grow from new rookies into star players. I'd like to thank bovovovo for also hiring me as an updater and thank manicmav36 and Laser for also serving as Updater Heads during my time on the team.

Another cool opportunity I've had is to be a part of the Hall of Fame Committee. It's been very fun getting to be a part of the Hall of Fame process and to get a vote in terms of which players get in. I'd like to thank Bex for offering me the opportunity to join the committee and to infinitempg for serving as head of the committee.

I've had a lot of fun in this league. I've gotten to play on some great teams and work some interesting jobs, and I am grateful to the people who have given me those opportunities throughout the years.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - PMoney - 07-16-2021

From the time I joined (and became active in the league) just around the S22 draft, the Kansas City Coyotes has felt like home and has given me some of the best and most hyped moments in my league career and @Buttersqauch101 and @Starboy are to thank for that. For both drafting me and the incredible team we had at that point including @"RenoJacksonHS" @sakrosankt @Matty7478 @QuirkyTurtle  @Ismael8907 @gargaroff @"enforcer" @revuhlution :'( . That team was amazing and the experience in the LR throughout the season was unreal. That experience and the experience I gained in the WR from near the end of S21 is a massive part of why I’m still so involved in the league and something I think you guys nailed as DSFL GMs.

When I got drafted to Yellowknife it was in part because of one of the most beautiful human beings to have graced the league in Murtsi @BaconBrother being in both KC and YKW WRs and I’ve got to thank @flyeaglesfly29 and @shadyshoelace for many things but first of those being drafting me to such a great team. The great users in that team like @Bigred1580 @timeconsumer @manicmav36 and a whole bunch of others who I hardly got to spend time on the team with was a super positive experience and I’m glad I’ve been able to GM such a great team. Everyone on the team has deserved the success we’ve had over the last few seasons and people such as @DarknessRising @UberBJ @Arkz @ZootTX @NicholasTheGreat have made the experience so much better and easier. While he’s been my boss for a while as a banker, having @Opera_Phantom in the team for this past season has been amazing and trading up to get him is definitely something I’m most thankful we did.
GM chat is a blast at times and while I could tag most of the people in there, I’ll thank @Blasoon , @Memento Mori and @Dewalt27 especially for making my banking job fun as well.

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - LB3737 - 07-16-2021

Initially, thank you to @furiousPanda and especially to @RDBSouthPaw for drafting me in the first place to a great Portland team, and Locker Room, and helping me get used to the league for the beginning period of my tenure here.

Next off thank you to the great war room we have built in Portland with whom we've built a great locker room and franchise, not having a losing season so far in my time there, consisting of @zeagle1, @qWest, @Arkz, @Faelax, @Hordle, @xtitanxmvpx, @Attopax, @LSUFAN101, @SabaDonutMan, @ztarwarz, @fever95, @furiousPanda (again), @Vaelynn, @C9Van and @Jo3fish5, although Joe doesn't really count because he barely does anything (like myself recently), although Joe does a great job with the casinos 6fort6, one of the more popular games we've run in recent times. This reminds me to thank @Duilio05 who has given me a job, and paid me probably more money than I'm worth, helping me get by in my time in the league so far (thanks to the rest of the casino team too)

Next up I'll have to thank @sakrosankt, and reluctantly, @Frostbite (jk frolf gud) for being wise enough to reach for me, and bring me to what is definitely the best franchise in the ISFL, even though it was a bad pick at the time :dogekek:.

This leads me into thanking the fishe war room for the great culture we've built in the LR, users such as @abh89, @Mojojojo (congrats on the GM job), @slate, @tMuse, @Billybolo53, @furiousPanda (wtf again), @FootballIsCool, and @gbfn. Also shoutout to one of the goats of the Sarasota defense, who doesn't get all the glory he definitely deserves, @Booger

Finally, on a note not completely related to this sim league, I shall thank the two GMs who drafted me to the best SHL team, the Quebec City Citadelles @Evok and @Faelax (double thanks again lol).

Sorry if I missed anyone this was written with haste

RE: (S30) Offseason Point Task - TubaMasterFlex - 07-16-2021

There are too many people to mention in this post so I apologize in advance to all the people who have been great that I inevitably forget to mention.

First @SchwarzNarr, @Thor, and the whole rookie mentor team have been so helpful with helping get us established in the league. This is my first ever sim league and no matter how basic or simple my question was, they were so quick to answer it and provide even more info. And the daily questions in the rookie discord have been such a fun way to engage with my fellow rookies. No matter how outlandish the question, it always stirs up a big conversation.

The users that I've interacted with the most are my fellow S31 rookies. Shoutout to @HalfEatenOnionBagel for whipping the S31 hype train into an unstoppable frenzy. The hype thread in the Thunderdome has been wild and great to be a part of. @"Netlandic" is another user that's been an absolute hype machine as we keep moving closer and closer to the start of the season. They've already got a sick sig shop setup that I'll have to hit up soon. @zayanm isn't letting their status as a bit of a later addition to the S31 class stop them from diving right in. They've put out some fun content in character that's been a blast to read and interact with. @Sonaclov has constantly injected every discord they're a part of with positivity.

All of the DSFL people that reached out to me in the pre-draft phase: @negs, @katarn22, @zeagle1, @firstfray, @deadlunatic, @Painted, @MattBake12, and @yonggarius, were kind enough to take time out of there schedule to have a scouting conversation with a brand new user. All of them were incredibly helpful with any questions I had and supportive of diving into the league feet first. They made the offseason even more exciting.

I'd like to give a special shoutout to zeagle and @LSUFAN101 for drafting me this past Wednesday and the entire Pythons locker room for being so immediately welcoming. I'm looking forward to my time as a Python.
