* X-Factor: Colorado Yeti - TheMemeMaestro - 08-15-2017

The X-Factor for the Colorado Yeti comes from the side of the ball that they have thrived on, defense. The rookie safety Roman Thomas has burst onto the seen and become a key part of a great unit, The Colorado Yeti defensive team. Thomas was drafted in the 2nd round of the season 2 draft, and immediately made an impact for the team, including a game with 2 interceptions. Yeti Co-GM Mike Norton said he was the surprise breakout star for the team. I would have had to agree with him, but his play as of late has been mediocre at best. That's what makes him an X-Factor. As his play declines, so does his team's. I was able to sit down with the young safety and get a few words in with him in an interview.

You started off the season strong, but have been failing as of late. How do you get back to such the strong form you were in at the beginning of the season?

"Yea I've definitely had only one good game since my amazing early season game and have definitely needed to be better for the team. I think I have to be tougher on myself to train harder and be the best player I can be week in and week out. If I continue to train as hard as I can I should be able to work on the weaknesses in my game and correct those issues to be a better player overall."

There seems to be a correlation between your play, and the overall play of the team. Do you believe that, or is it just a case of correlation not equaling causation?

"I think it's pure coincidence at this point. Obviously when players are playing well the team is going to do better but I believe my down games can be somewhat caused by the sheer amount of amazing teammates around me who can make the plays before I can. I definitely feel like it's on my shoulders sometimes though but I know we have to play better as a team and I alone am not winning or losing games for us."

Focusing on the positives, you have shown great potential in your short time in the league. How do you fulfill your full potential?

"I think I just have to train harder every day. I need to work on my weaknesses and shore up those holes in my game so I don't get taken advantage of on the field. If I continue to work harder and bust my ass there's no shortage of the things I can do in this league."

As you can see, Thomas will keep working to become one of the top players in the league.
