Dear Rookie Mentor Head,
I’ve been in this for a few weeks now and I just finally got enough money to max out my equipment for the season. It seems like a great purchase because I can earn 30 TPE right away and I’m sure it looks good to GMs, but I won’t have enough money for weekly training. Should I max out my equipment? Especially if I have to buy it every season? Should I save some money for training? Do I really have to rebuy equipment every season? Help!!

Congrats to you for getting that money! It’s definitely a daunting task early on to earn enough money early on to get that maximum tier equipment. When it comes to deciding what is the better bang for your buck, we can do some math to help us out.
Full Tier 6 equipment costs 13.5 million and gets you 30 TPE. (And yes, you can buy new equipment every season - but don’t worry: the old equipment (and TPE!) doesn’t go away. This is just a regular seasonal purchase) When we divide the total TPE (30) by 6 to get the cost per 5 TPE (same as a maximum weekly training) we end up with 2.25 million per 5 TPE.
Weekly training is twice as efficient as equipment. So while I know it’s great to flash that shiny “I got Tier 6 equipment”, you should make sure that you always have enough money to pay for that weekly training.
Now if you can get both? Awesome! Do it! But focus on that weekly training first. Remember though, you can buy different tiers of equipment and upgrade it throughout the season. You don’t have to just buy the final upgrade right away. When you have some spare money, put it toward equipment. Your TPE will thank you.
