*S30 Norfolk Gameballs - negs - 08-31-2021

OFFENSIVE WEEK 1 GAME BALL - French Fries
7 receptions, 116 yards, 2 touchdowns

What a debut for our second round pick! French Fries was making plays all over the field, topping 100 yards and getting a pair of scores from quarterback Malcolm Savage. Fries’ touchdowns both came in the 4th quarter, propelling a possible comeback. His first ever touchdown came on a 52 yard strike from Savage as Fries outran the defense. His second tuddy was an 8 yard reception on the very next drive. FUTURE STUD!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 1 GAME BALL - Hououin Kyouma
9 tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 interception

The boy Zeph! What a game from Hououin Kyouma as they proudly announce their presence as not only a CBOTY contender, but a DPOTY contender as well. Kyouma did great locking down one side of the field with 9 tackles and 2 passes defended. Hououin stepped up early, intercepting Dexter Zaylren on their first drive of the game which led to a field goal for us. Great game Zeph!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 2 GAME BALL - Malcador “The Hero”
7 receptions, 75 yards, 1 touchdown

SNOWYYYYY!!! The other half of our star wide receiver duo, Malcador “The Hero” showed up and proved he is going to be a star. Malcador was the consistent receiver for Savage this game with his team high 7 receptions. “The Hero” scored his first touchdown late in the first quarter with an 8 yard reception score, tying up the game at 10 to end the quarter. Watch out for these two wide receivers to rack up some monster stats!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 2 GAME BALL - Hououin Kyouma6 tackles, 3 passes defended, 1 interception

Ugh I have to give Zeph another game ball. All jokes aside, Hououin Kyouma carried the momentum from the first game over to this, somehow playing even better. Kyouma managed to decrease their tackles and up their passes defended, showing a knack for playing the ball. With another interception, Kyouma is one of the top cornerbacks in the league.

OFFENSIVE WEEK 3 GAME BALL - Matthew Holford
13 carries, 39 yards, 12 long

THE VET! This was definitely a tough game for us offensively, but Holford ran his damn heart out. Toting the ball 13 times, Holford was able to rack up 39 yards with a long run of 12. He fought for every single yard and exemplifies what we all need to do is just grind and take what we can get! Being a vet, Holford knows how to go about his business and proved to be a true professional and team leader this game.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 3 GAME BALL - Nathan Claflin
11 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack

Who knew the jeopardy player could play football too? What a game from Nathan Clfalin! Claflin led the defense in tackles, tackles for loss, and sacks as well. He was all over the field making plays in the pass game, forcing losses in the run game, and even got a sack on the very first play for KCC. Jeopardy knowledge means more sacks and Claflin

OFFENSIVE WEEK 4 GAME BALL - Jeremy Crouse
19 carries, 39 yards, 1 touchdown

EL CAPITÁN! Crouse has been working his butt off in practice and today it paid off. Crouse ran with toughness, determination, and hunger bowling his way to 39 yards and a touchdown. Crouse’s touchdown was a 9 yard scamper that put us up 13-0 in the first quarter. The man worked for every yard and exemplified the toughness this young squad possesses. Look for Crouse to continue working with his partner Matthew Holford as they both are increasing their 40 times recently in practice.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 4 GAME BALL - Sconnie McHits
11 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

EL CAPITÁN PART DOS! McHits was an absolute tackle machine before this game and continued to be, but what really stood out is the big plays he made. With 11 tackles this game, Sconnie is one behind the league leader. However, his biggest plays today had huge impacts. Sconnie proved his worth in the run game with a great tackle for loss to force a punt. On his forced fumble and fumble recovery, Sconnie ripped the ball from the running back after a catch and recovered it, returning it 5 yards allowing us to kick a field goal. Early DROTY nominee?

OFFENSIVE WEEK 5 GAME BALL - Clifford Wilson
10 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed

THE BONGO MAN! Clifford Wilson has been nothing short of the best offensive lineman in the entirety of the DSFL this season. Wilson showed out this game with a whopping 10 pancakes while allowing 0 sacks. He was a mauler in the run game and agile in pass protection. The perfect left tackle Wilson deserves his dues here for his standout performance!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 5 GAME BALL - Nep Neppy
7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss

SOME LOVE FOR THE BIG MAN! In a game where we played some great overall defense, the run defense was especially standout thanks to the middle of the defense Nep Neppy. Nep plays a position that does not get many counting stats, but he made sure to make his mark on this game. He finished with 7 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, showing his prowess in a run defense that only gave up 2.7 yards per rush to two of the top running backs in the DSFL.

OFFENSIVE WEEK 6 GAME BALL - Jeremy Crouse
13 carries, 2 receptions, 103 yards from scrimmage, 1 touchdown

EL CAPITAN IS BACK! Crouse has shown he can be an elite back, and has shown his two way potential in this game as well. Topping 100 yards total and a touchdown, he led the offense against a great Tijuana defense to put up a solid performance. Great job!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 6 GAME BALL - Sconnie McHits
14 tackles, 1 forced fumble

RECORDS INCOMING? Sconnie McHits has been the top tackler in the league for the entire season and this game was no different. Playing in the middle of the defense, Sconnie does not get many other counting stats but he is an absolute force in the pass and the run game. He chases down receivers, stops plays up front, and is the foundation of it all. He was able to force a fumble this game and show more to come this season.

OFFENSIVE WEEK 7 GAME BALL - Jeremy Crouse
15 carries, 104 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 reception, 44 yards

IT HAD TO BE! This man has been wanting to beat the Grey Ducks very vocally in the locker room as a leader. He got his wish finally, and was an absolute force. Crouse finished the game with 3 huge touchdowns on the goal line and numerous other big runs to keep the offense rolling against the best defense in the league. He continued to show his dual threat ability with a reception for 44 yards which he dragged 4 defenders to get us in great position. LETS GET IT!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 7 GAME BALLS - Sconnie McHits & Sigo Hendricks
McHits: 5 tackles, 2 passes defended, 1 interception, 1 touchdown
Hendricks: 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass defended, 1 interception

MY LORD! Against an undefeated team, the linebacker duo of Sconnie McHits and Sigo Hendricks were massive problems for Minnesota’s offense. Sconnie McHits has been looking for his first significant play and the one he made this game was the perfect time. In the 4th quarter with the game tied, McHits picked off the quarterback for an 89 yard pick six. Sigo Hendricks absolutely stuffed the stat sheet. Sigo proved to be a force in the run and pass game. With 2 tackles for loss and a forced fumble he proved to be elite. He also was a force in the pass game with a sack, a pass defended, and an interception to end off the game.

OFFENSIVE WEEK 8 GAME BALLS - Malcolm Savage & French Fries
Savage: 22/36 completions, 282 yards, 4 touchdowns, 3 carries, 22 yards, 122.7 rating
Fries: 8 receptions, 114 yards, 2 touchdowns

THE DYNAMIC DUO DOES IT AGAIN! Savage and Fries have been on the same wavelength all year and this game was no different. Savage had his best game of the year completing 61% of his passes for 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Fries was on the receiving end of two of those touchdowns, having 8 receptions for 114 yards of his own. Watch for these two to show up on a few award ballots!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 8 GAME BALL - Nathan Claflin
4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

THE BOY! Claflin stood out in this game with some elite stats. Claflin’s sack came on a 3rd down where he forced a turnover which eventually turned into a score. Not only did Claflin sack the quarterback, he also stripped the ball away and recovered it as well. A true standout performance!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 9 GAME BALL - Malcador “The Hero” @SnowyWolfz#9324
6 receptions, 115 yards, 1 touchdown

ELITE????? Malcador “The Hero” has been half of arguably the best wide receiver duo in the entire league, and he showed this game why he is to be feared. Malcador is a great deep threat and was no different this game, averaging 19.2 yards per reception. “The Hero” topped 115 yards and also scored on a vital 5 yard touchdown pass. Malcador was nothing less than “The Hero”.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 9 GAME BALL - Stewart Hellraiser
2 tackles, 1 sack

SACK GOD! Though Hellraiser plays on the inside in our 3-4 scheme as a defensive end, he is no stranger to disruption. Hellraiser sacked MVP candidate Stanzi for an 11 yard loss and set the tone for the defense for the rest of the night. In his second season, Stewart is proving he is ready for the ISFL game and is taking over in the DSFL.

OFFENSIVE WEEK 10 GAME BALLS - Malcolm Savage & Johnny Patey
Savage: 18/26 completions, 320 yards, 2 touchdowns, 136.7 rating, 3 rushes, 60 yards, 1 touchdown
Patey: 7 receptions, 109 yards, 1 touchdown

CLUTCH CLUTCH CLUTCH! Those are the only words to describe these two players in this game. Savage was almost perfect in this game. Savage completed 69% :noice: of his passes for 300+ yards and two touchdowns. A true dual threat QB Savage rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown. JOHNNY PATEY MY LORD. Patey put together his best game of the season, leading us in receptions with 7 for 109 and a touchdown. This touchdown was one of the plays of the YEAR. With time expiring, Savage dropped back and unloaded 50 yards down field to Patey. He was almost brought down, but French Fries came in for an insane block, allowing Patey to complete the 73 yard completion for the touchdown to win the game.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 10 GAME BALL - Spike Daniels
3 tackles, 1 pass defended, 1 interception

THIS MAN HAS HEART!!!!! Spike Daniels is the smartest guy on the team. He wears the radio for the defense and is a true leader. Throughout the year, Daniels hasn’t gotten many stats but has put in the work every single week at practice to make sure he is there for his teammates and ready to make a play. Well god damn did he make one when we needed it. Spike got his first interception in the season with KCC driving. On 3rd and goal with KCC ready to score, Daniels picked off Carter Knight at the 1 yard line and returned it 45 yards, not only forcing a turnover but putting the offense in great field position. Spike had a tough week in practice and knew he had to show up, and boy did he show up making one of the best plays of the season to lead us to a win. A true leader!!!!!!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 11 GAME BALL - Matthew Holford
4 carries, 3 receptions, 105 total yards, 1 touchdown

HE BROKE ONE! In our first back to back in of the season, Holford did not get great volume, but he made the most of his touches as a big play threat. Throughout the game Holford was consistent, rushing for 5+ yards per carry and reeling in a few passes from Malcolm Savage. However, his biggest play came to put the game out of reach. Up 20-17 with 2:11 left to go in the game, Holford ran up the middle and broke a few tackles, outrunning the defense to a 58 yard touchdown run to secure the win. I know this guy has been looking for that big play and damn did it come at a good time!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 11 GAME BALL - Spike Daniels
2 tackles, 2 passes defended, 2 interceptions

THE PLAYMAKER? Spike Daniels had a slow start to the year and went through some rookie growing pains as everyone does. In the past two games however, Spike has seen the results of his hard work in practice and is making plays everywhere. In this win, he had two vital interceptions including one to end the game and give us our first back to back win of the season. With his continued intelligence and training, look for Spike to begin to dominate!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 12 GAME BALL - Clifford Wilson
11 pancakes, 0 sacks allowed, 0 penalties

BONGOCHINO! Clifford Wilson has been absolutely dominant this year and is the hands down offensive lineman of the year award. It can be argued that he is having one of the best seasons of an offensive lineman in DSFL history. In this game, Wilson dominated the Pythons defensive line to the tune of 11 pancakes without allowing a single sack or being flagged for any penalties. Bongo is having a special year and deserves all the love in the world for it.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 12 GAME BALL - Nep Neppy
6 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery

AARON DONALD WHO? Nep plays a position at DT that isn’t the greatest in terms of stats, but he has been huge for us all year and this game he showed out. With a tackle for loss and the forced fumble and fumble recovery, Nep secured his spot as a dominant DT for years to come for us!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 13 GAME BALL - Malcolm Savage
25/41 completions, 396 yards, 2 touchdowns

HE A SAVAGE! Hopefully up for OROTY, Savage showed in this game why next season he should be looked at as a possible MVP favorite. In a close overtime loss, Savage almost brought us back down 10 in the last minutes. With 1:51 left to go in the game, Savage found Crouse for a 6 yard touchdown pass to get us within 3. Our defense was able to get a huge stop and gave Malcolm Savage the ball back with 38 seconds to go down 3 at our own 8 yard line. Not phased by the moment, Savage threw a dime to Patey for 62 yards, ending with a Jack Lewis field goal to send the game into OT. We didn’t end up with the win but Savage proved he had the guts to get us in a position to win.

DEFENSIVE WEEK 13 GAME BALLS - Zephyr GreyWolf  & Stewart Hellraiser
GreyWolf: 2 tackles, 1 sack
Hellraiser: 2 tackles, 1 sack

GIVE A LITTLE LOVE TO THE TRENCHES! GreyWolf and Hellraiser were absolute gameplan wreckers on defense against Tijuana. Their offensive line did not have any answers for these two. They both racked up a sack and were terrors. Adding 2 tackles each on top of it, they contained Tijuana’s run game to put us in a position at the end to come back. Great job fellas!

OFFENSIVE WEEK 14 GAME BALL - French Fries
8 receptions, 167 yards, 2 touchdowns

FRIES!!!! French Fries needed a big game to cement himself as another contender for OROTY and WROTY and boy did he show out. Fries only needed 8 receptions to rack up 167 yards to go along with 2 tuddies. Fries started out the game on the first drive with a 58 yard touchdown reception to put Minnesota on their heels. Fries was not done yet as he hauled in another 9 yard touchdown. This game cemented Fries’ being the top receiver in terms of yardage in the entire DSFL. Good job buddy!

DEFENSIVE WEEK 14 GAME BALL - Hououin Kyouma
4 tackles, 3 passes defended, 1 interception

OUR RESPECTED ELDER! As he loves to point out, Kyouma is the most seasoned player on Norfolk this year. He was a leader and someone the rookies really looked up to to lead them on and off the field. In his final game of the season, Hououin Kyouma proved why he is a leader. With 3 passes defended and an interception, Kyouma never let the Ducks MVP quarterback get going on his side of the field. That's the sign of a shutdown corner and why Zeph is the best CB1 in the league.
