What can I say about Colby Jack that hasn't already been mentioned? He's been a long time leader on our team, and while this is the first time he's 'officially' wearing the mark of a Captain for the Wraiths, he's still been a tremendous part of all the success we've experienced since he joined the team. Colby's won about every award you can in this league, including MVP, OPOTY, QBOTY, and more, plus he's got three Ultimus Championships to his name. While the Wraiths are one of the oldest franchises in the league, they haven't experienced the same level of consistent success that their rivals in Orange County have. That all changed when Colby joined the roster and the Wraiths have never looked back. He's a grizzled, veteran presence for an otherwise younger team that is in a transitional phase. The Wraiths will be counting on Colby's steady hand to keep everyone calm and focused on making the playoffs and competing for a championship once again. This is still Colby's team until he decides to hang it up for good, and the Yellowknife faithful will hope he can extend the magic for a little while longer. 

If there's anyone on the Wraiths who can match Colby in terms of performance, pedigree, and importance for the Wraiths in recent seasons, Douglas Quaid would be it. Quaid has been the bedrock of a strong defensive unit for the Wraiths ever since he was brought up in Season 21, Quaid has been one of the standout players on the team. He has over 1,000 tackles in his career, 80 sacks, a few defensive TDs and 16 forced fumbles. Even now he's still one of the top linebackers in the league, coming in fifth in total tackles in Season 30. He's been a vocal and supportive member of our team, mentoring the younger players as they are making their way into the league. He will be asked to anchor a defensive front that will see a lot of turnover going into the next few seasons and the fans and his teammates know that he will continue to impress and bring his very best to the field. 

We can't wait to get this season started and to have these two amazing players lead us into next season. Once more, I can't say enough good things about both these users and what they bring to our locker room. This is a bit of a tradition in the SHL and I think it would be neat to bring over here to the ISFL side of things, as I think we should always look for ways to highlight some of the contributions that these amazing users and players make to the league.
