*Philadelphia vs Chicago: A Froggy Perspective - WildfireMicro - 09-14-2021

Chicago Illinois, cold as usual though not extremely cold. Tsuyu Asui has been here plenty of times before and the energy in the crowd from the Butchers faithful is intense as she headed to a specific location to change away fro the rest of the guys. It was opening day of the ISFL season in the final night game of the week, and she was ready for the mayhem ahead. She was just hoping for a good start to the season to send the Butchers faithful home unhappy. She changed into her specially made Liberty uniform and helmet and headed to just outside of the locker room where the coaches were discussing the gameplan.

She knew that Philadelphia could really use a good opening day performance to excite the fanbase after a disappointing season last year. She just really wanted to get at least 8 wins this season and maybe even make the playoffs. She knew that they had a good team it was just a matter of putting it all together and they have had a hard time doing that. Philadelphia QB Ryan Negs seemed to take his mixed performances a bit hard but has since gotten over it. He says that he can deal with the pressure and the criticism and just focus on performing well.

Soon the guys started to come out of the locker room looking pumped up. Asui walked with them to the gate that was reserved for the away team. As a superhero on her downtime she used to be not used to the boos that we follow this. But she has long since embraced those boos as a sign that they are doing something right. They can running out of the gate to a chorus of boos and a few cheers from the Philadelphia faithful who made the trip to Chicago. She looked around the grey grass of the stadium to see the Butchers QB, Kazmir Oles JR. practicing on thier side of the field.

He seems to be a relatively young quarterback and Tsuyu think that a few guys on the Philadelphia defense can get to him and make him make mistakes. She breathed in and out and went to so some pregame drills with Negs. As she caught a short practice pass, she saw that he had an extremely determined look on his face. Hopefully that determination leads to some nice passes and deep balls. He's been with the Liberty for a long time and while he may have mixed performances, he was still her friend. Next Jake Fencik went to do some catching drills as Tsuyu looked on.

Ahh Jake Fencik, the kicker turned wide receiver convert. Despite not having much experience as a wide receiver he seems to have taken to it pretty well. He had some decent performances in practice and they were hoping this experimenting with converting positions leads to the offense waking up. He needs to be up for the task as tonight is his first true test with a regular season game. He's been clutch as a kicker can he do it as a wide receiver?

Soon it was time for the opening kickoff and Fencik is going to be the one returning the kick. She got into position and breathed in and out as the kick goes into Jake's hands. He manages to get a really good return out of it to set up Philadelphia with nice field position. She smiled and headed to the huddle. It waa time for mayhem to truly begin in Chicago. After the first quarter yielded no points for ether team, Negs managed to catch Fencik with a nice pass to score Jake's first ever wide receiver touchdown. The rest of the team went to hug him as most of the crowd moaned.

In the next Philadelphia possession, Negs catches running backLonnie Jackson with a nice pass to put them up two scores. Unfortunately the next score would belong to the Butchers as Oles found Scurbba for a trip to the endzone. Tsuyu was annoyed but knew not to worry too much. In the next Philadelphia possession Negs threw a 52 yard touchdown to Killan Chambers in order to respond to the Butchers. They entered the 4th quarter with the ball and soon Negs found Killan again to go up 28-7. After a couple of Chicago and Philly three and outs that included the new Philadelphia kicker Thomas Rose missing his first kick, Chicago began to drive down the field.

Oles threw a few incompletons he does not see Matt Cross when he throws and Matt gets the pick. Matt then runs down over 80 yards to the endzone for an pick six, the final exclamation point of a dominant 35-7 Philadelphia win. Well ether that was the final exclamation point or it was Walls sacking Oles on the last Chicago play of the game for a turnover on downs. Negs dropped to a knee in victory formation and the Philadelphia Liberty went back to the locker room with a great opening day win. In that locker room everyone is extremely pumped up and high fiving each other, especially Ryan Negs.

Tsuyu was excited too and joined in, although she admitted that she did not feel like her performance was that good in the end. They just reminded her that she was a surefire target in short yardage situations and that is valuable to a lot of teams. She smiled and thanked them all before heading to change back into her normal clothes. After that she reflected on the day for Philadelphia. They had watched the games that happened before their's so she knew that they were the only team to actually hold a team to single digit points.

She breathed in and out again and just relaxed her tensions away. Next up they were traveling to Louisiana to take on the New Orleans Second Line in what should also be a very fun game. Hopefully she can get a touchdown or two in that game. She went to go with her teammates to the team bus I'm high spirits and clear focus, ready for the next challenge.

No I actually do not plan on making this a consistent series.
