ISFL S31 Hall of Fame Ballot Results ISFL

As a quick summary, in order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame a player needs to be voted in by 2/3 of voters - if they receive 1/3 of the votes they will stay on the ballot for the next season.

As was passed in the S23 Rules Summit, we have formed a Hall of Fame Committee! The committee this season was made up of Ben, bwestfield, daybe, infinitempg, JuOSu, manicmav36, nunccoepi, PigSnout, and run_cmc! Iamslm22 stepped down from the committee before the vote, and so I stepped in to replace him. In addition, Ben and bwestfield will both be stepping down from the committee, and so we will be hiring 2-3 new members - stay tuned for the hiring post.

With these nine, our requirements are 6 votes to be inducted and 3 votes to stay on the ballot.

Note: As was noted in the S29 Open Newsletter, the general user base can now nominate players, general managers, and user contributors for consideration to the Hall of Fame! Publicly-submitted nominees must be sponsored by a HOF Committee member to be entered into the voting process. You can click HERE to nominate someone for consideration to the S31 ballot. Any players/general managers/user contributors that make it to the ballot via this method will be denoted with a †. As an additional note, players will still have to receive approval from half of the committee after being sponsored by a committee member to proceed to the final ballot.

(S15) - Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname - @BigKicks - K
OCO (S15-S27)

Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname, more commonly known as Alex D., is arguably one of the greatest kickers of all time. Taken 42nd overall by the Orange County Otters in the fifth round of the immense S15 ISFL Draft, Alex D. became an integral part of the incredible Orange County Otters megadynasty. Over his long career, Alex D. managed to reset nearly every kicking record in the books - finishing first all time in extra points made and attempted, field goals made and attempted, and becoming the league’s highest ever scorer. Alex was no slouch at accuracy either, making 93% of his field goals in his career - a mark good enough for 3rd all time. The two time kicker of the year was also a two time punter of the year, and had a legendary career booting it back to the opposition. Alex D. finished second all time in punts and punting yards (only behind fellow HOFer Dean Jackson) and 6th all time in punting efficiency. Oh, and he has three Ultimus titles too, in case that got lost in all his glory.

(S15) - Nero Alexander - shadyshoelace - DE
YKW (S15-S27)

Nero Alexander was taken by the Yellowknife Wraiths with the fourth overall pick of the S15 ISFL Draft, and he would spend his whole career there ruining the days of opposing players. The 5 time Pro Bowler won his positional award twice, once for Defensive Lineman of the Year and once for Defensive End of the Year, but he was known for being the best at one thing - tackling players in the backfield. Alexander finished his career with 141 tackles for loss. This is the most ever, and by a lot - second place Immanuel Blackstone only has 113 TFLs. Nero’s stalwart presence on the Yellowknife defensive line helped propel one of the less-heralded dynasties of league history, finally coalescing into two Ultimus titles in S23 and S26 after many many failed attempts. With the evolution of the league in the new simulation, Alexander’s TFL record may never be topped, a fitting legacy for arguably the best defensive end of all time.

(S15) - Forrest Gump - TomHanks - RB
NOLA (S16-S27)

Forrest Gump was like a box of chocolates - when he was taken in the second round by the New Orleans Second Line at 13th overall, they didn’t really know what they were gonna get. What they got was one of the most dynamic players in league history. There’s all sorts of yards you can gain in the ISFL. There’s rushing yards, passing yards, receiving yards, kick return yards, punt return yards… that’s about it. Forrest Gump did whatever his coach told him to do, and got all kinds of yards. He finished 6th all time in career rush attempts and rushing yards, and 12th in rushing touchdowns. He also caught the ball extremely well, finishing 8th all time in career yards from scrimmage. He also returned kicks and punts, finishing 13th in career punt return yards and fifth in career punt return touchdowns. Unfortunately, retirement is a part of life in the league, no matter how much Forrest wishes it wasn’t. Gump had an incredible career capped off with a trophy case full of a Running Back of the Year award, Performance of the Year award, Offensive Player of the Year award, and an Ultimus trophy.

(S15) - Quenton Bode - terriblehippo - LB
NOLA (S15-S27)

Quenton Bode was taken second overall in the S15 ISFL Draft to the New Orleans Second Line, the fourth player in this class and 7th player overall from that draft year to be inducted to the Hall. Bode was a force to be reckoned with in the Second Line’s first line of defense, playing at the MLB position for much of his 13 season career. Bode was a tackling machine, putting up two of the four best single season tackling performances on his way to becoming the league’s tackling king at 1,441 tackles - nearly 200 more than second place and fellow HOFer Alex Selich. Bode’s tackles did not go to waste though, as the four time Pro Bowler also finished with the third most forced fumbles in league history. His ability to make plays on the defense and force turnovers helped him lead New Orleans to an Ultimus title in S21. So far ahead of the competition, Bode may sit at the throne of tacklers for a long time to come.

(S18) - Mathias Hanyadi - CLG Rampage - RB

Mathias Hanyadi is the first Hall of Famer to emerge from the legendary S18 ISFL Draft Class, going 17th overall to the Yellowknife Wraiths. After staying in the DSFL an extra season, it did not take long for Hanyadi to make a huge impact in the big leagues. In his second season, he finished as Running Back of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year - though he was no one-hit wonder. Hanyadi would go on to six Pro Bowls and win three Running Back of the Year awards, two Offensive Player of the Year awards, and in S23 he won the MVP. His MVP award broke a streak of six straight seasons of Quarterbacks winning the award, the first time since S13 that a running back won the award, and the first time since S8 that a running back had sole possession of the award. Hanyadi played all over the field, excelling at rushing the ball (8th all time in rushing touchdowns and 9th in rushing yards), receiving the ball (over 4,000 yards receiving), and returning kicks and punts (another 6,000 yards). All this resulted in him finishing 12th all time in career All Purpose yards and 13th in yards from scrimmage - as well as the second best single-season all purpose yardage season in S23. His incredible MVP season culminated in an Ultimus title for the Wraiths, and much of the credit for getting them lays squarely on his shoulders.

Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname is the 30th player to receive a unanimous induction to the Hall of Fame, joining Ian Bavitz, Mike Boss, Dan Miller, Reg Mackworthy, Angus Winchester, Owen Taylor, Dermot Lavelle, Paul DiMirio, Trey Willie, Dean Jackson, Andre Bly Jr, Austin Roenick, Borkus Maximus III, Mason Brown, Verso L'Alto, Vinny Valentine, Kazimir Oles, Dan Schneider, Lennox Garnett, Kulture Fulture, Danny Grithead, Errol Maddox, James Bishop, Thorian Skarsgard, Cooter Bigsby, Mo Berry, Alex Selich, Johnny Snuggles, and Franklin Armstrong.

Finally, as passed in the S26 Rules Summit, players can be renominated to the Player Hall of Fame if they receive the approval of over half of the committee. This season, no players were renominated for the Hall of Fame.

- ISFL User Hall of Fame -

Now, we move on to the User Hall of Fame! As passed in the S24 Rules Summit, the rules for the User HOF have changed:

- Users will remain on the ballot for 3 seasons before being removed from the ballot.
- Users who have been removed from the ballot can be renominated by the committee.

This season, we have no inductees to the User Hall of Fame.

im not gonna pretend to be the most knowledgeable but feels weird to me that frostbite lost a gm hof vote after winning a ring and nearly a gmoty didnt make it somehow

Congrats to an amazing class of players being inducted this season. A lot of these guys were the best of the best when I came into the league, players that I really looked up to. Well deserved to every player voted in here.

Not only did Frost not get inducted but he somehow got removed from the ballot entirely? HOF committee sux lmap.

Frost does have a GMotY in the past besides the one he narrowly missed out on last season (and would have won if SJS submitted their ballot in time), in addition to his 2 Ultimus wins and longest active playoff streak in the league.

Frostbite was removed from the ballot because he had his 3 seasons on. He can always be re-nominated.
