*Ranking DSFL Southern Conference Stadiums - By-Tor - 10-05-2021 There is a wide range of capacity and ages of the DSFL Southern Conference stadiums. The Birddogs and Buccaneers have high-end stadiums while the older franchises, Norfolk and Tijuana, are looking for upgrades. 1. Dallas Birddogs - The Doghouse Capacity: 100,000 Built: 2036 Hosted Team: S21 - present One of the largest stadiums, the Birddogs have a big home for a popular team. Capacity is high, and amenities are abundant within the arena. Outfitted with a retractable roof, games can be enjoyed with fresh air during mild Dallas days or a closed roof during bad weather. The stadium is now ten years old and is scheduled to have its first major renovation soon. As the team increases in popularity, team management is looking to increase seating capacity within the dome. 2. Bondi Beach Buccaneers - Emu War Memorial Stadium Capacity: 83,500 Built: 2018 Hosted Team: S25 - present The Emu War Memorial Stadium was built long before the Buccaneers moved into town. Originally built as a non-American "football" stadium, the building was converted to allow for American football games with the arrival of Australia's first American Football team. While old, it is being upkept well and has undergone a few recent remodels. The locker rooms were upgraded and the spectator mezzanine was expanded to include more concession stands. Located in downtown Sydney along the waterfront, there is adequate amenities surrounding the stadium for pre-game and post-game activities. 3. Norfolk Seawolves - Seawolves Stadium Capacity: 32,300 Built: 2018 Hosted Team: S3 - present One of the oldest and smallest stadiums in the DSFL, the Norfolk Seawolves are in need of an upgrade. The limited capacity (a third of Dallas') limits ticket revenue and hamstrings the potential finances of the team. Luckily, people are smart and they have been planning for the construction of a new stadium next door to the old stadium. Beloved by fans of the team, they are sad to see it being phased out, but happy for the modern building coming their way. Management currently has a poll out as to whether they should keep the name of the old stadium or rebrand it to something new. 4. Tijuana Luchadores - El Santo Coliseo Capacity: 27,333 Built: 2018 Hosted Team S3 - present Like Norfolk, the Luchadores are still in their original stadium and are planning for upgrades. The limited seating capacity and high level of success for the team (8x) has led to this being one of the hottest tickets in the region. The season ticket waiting list is 14 years long and many die hard fans go years before they can see their favorite luchas. In response to the potential financial boom, construction is currently underway for a new and improved, 100,000 fan capacity stadium to rival the best in the league. I used actual stadiums in each city based on what I felt each team would have. It's mostly creative mumbo jumbo.
