2-time Ultimus winner and 1-time Ultimus MVP (self-anointed and team-supported) Matthew McDairmid announces today that he will be retiring come the end of Season 31.
After many seasons of booting a football over them mountains, it feels like the time is right for me to step aside and let other people pretend they can kick the ball that far in anything but their dreams. There’s a lot of people I could and would want to thank for making my first player so special, but I don’t have the time to make all those thank yous happen because that’s a lot of words for an illiterate punter to write. To put it in a sweeping statement, to all my fellow S21 Coyotes and lifelong SaberCats, thank you for sticking around and being mates for as long as I have been around. It was a fun journey a lot of the time, and every piece of recognition that I give to you doesn’t ever feel like enough.
