S32 Rule Summits - DarknessRising - 11-04-2021

Hello ISFLers

The S32 Universal Rules Summits has recently concluded. Firstly, there were no DSFL rule proposals this season.

The ISFL Rules summit had  ISFL GM’s and Head Office encouraged to submit proposed rule changes or additions to the rulebook and league procedure. With 18 Voting members (14 ISFL teams, 4 ISFL HO members) 15 votes were needed for a proposal to pass ( >70% is 13, but the amount of teams plus 1 is higher and the value used).
1. For immediate implementation, All cap fines must be applied to the season following that in which they were incurred.

17 votes for – 1 vote against
Rule passes

As well as that, there was the Universal Rules Summit also conducted, where GMs and Ho from both ISFL and DSFL, as well as department heads could propose rules for amending the rule book. With 30 voting members (14 ISFL and 8 DSFL GMs, 4 ISFL and 4 DSFL HO) 21 votes were needed to pass a rule.

2. If a rule proposal is voted down, it cannot be added to the ballot again the following rules summit.

3 votes for – 27 votes against
Rule does not pass

3. Laser's Position Switch Overhaul

25 votes for – 5 votes against
Rule passes

4. Ballots will be adjusted to include an option for abstention from voting on individual proposals, to allow the simmer to tailor their vote to sim-specific proposals as outlined in II.D.4, as well as to afford an opportunity for voters to abstain from proposals they do not feel adequately informed to consider. The base threshold for passing a rule remains unchanged, but will be tailored to account for abstentions.

8 votes for – 22 votes against
rule does not pass

Rule 1 will be implemented immediately, whilst rule 3 will come into effect in the following season.

As always, its never too early to bring suggestions for rules to your GMs or HO, and with the recent survey asking about the rule book and a plan for GMs, HO and department heads to revise the rule book this season, it’s the perfect time to speak up.

Hope you all have a nice morning, afternoon or evening, hopefully all 3!!

RE: S32 Rule Summits - Eldorian - 11-04-2021

An explanation of "Laser's position switch overhaul" would be nice

Edit: nvm, already got posted right above me

RE: S32 Rule Summits - NicholasTheGreat - 11-04-2021

Its a joke that the 1st rule keeps getting submitted every year.

And GMs are never going to vote for it. Its ridiculous

RE: S32 Rule Summits - Raven - 11-04-2021

It to this day baffles me that no one has ever submited a rule that goes like 'If a rule proposal is voted down, it cannot be added to the ballot again the following rules summit.'

Would seem like an absolute home run submission and not one that just seems like a dead beat horse meme at this point wasting time, because haha see we keep submitting and we get to keep submitting it, isnt that funny
