S32 ISFL Hall of Fame Class - Kotasa - 01-02-2022

Hello ISFL! I wanna first apologize for the lateness of this post. Taking over has been a rough transition along with the hiring process and the holidays. It's been a little crazy but hopefully with a season under our belts after the transition we can be more prompt with next season's class!

ISFL S32 Hall of Fame Ballot Results ISFL

As a quick summary, in order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame a player needs to be voted in by 2/3 of voters - if they receive 1/3 of the votes they will stay on the ballot for the next season.

As was passed in the S23 Rules Summit, we have formed a Hall of Fame Committee! The committee this season was made up of TomHanks,Woelkers, daybe, Frostbite, JuOSu, manicmav36, nunccoepi, PigSnout, and run_cmc!

With these nine, our requirements are 6 votes to be inducted and 3 votes to stay on the ballot.

Note: As was noted in the S29 Open Newsletter, the general user base can now nominate players, general managers, and user contributors for consideration or re-consideration to the Hall of Fame! Publicly-submitted nominees must be sponsored by a HOF Committee member to be entered into the voting process. You can click HERE to nominate someone for consideration to the S33 ballot. Any players/general managers/user contributors that make it to the ballot via this method will be denoted with a †. As an additional note, players will still have to receive approval from half of the committee after being sponsored by a committee member to proceed to the final ballot.

- ISFL Player Hall of Fame -

Now, I'm pleased to introduce our newest members of the International Simulation Football League Hall of Fame! Welcome to the Hall of Fame:
Dermot Lavelle Jr. (@White Cornerback), Ashley Owens (@run_CMC), David Rector (@ddrector) and Austin McCormick (@Nokazoa)!

(S16) - Dermot Lavelle Jr. - @White Cornerback - CB
AUS (S16-S25)
BAL (S26-S28)
Dermot Lavelle Jr., the Lavelle family is known for their elite ability to cover and to return kicks and punts. With Dermot Lavelle Sr. being one of the greatest defenders to play the game, expectations were sky high for Jr. and he delivered. When he retired he was 2nd in pass deflections only behind his father. While he did not break that record from his father he did manage to be first in both punt and kick return yards and remains there to this day. After speaking with @White Cornerback he wanted to honor both teams he suited up for in the Baltimore Hawks and the Austin Copperheads upon his induction as his antics were well known by both teams. 200 pass defelections, and ranking top 40 in all purpose yards as a defender is no easy feat, along with a few awards and plenty of pro-bowls it’s safe to say Lavelle Jr. is one of the best to do it.

(S15) - Ashley Owens - run_CMC - RB
AUS (S17-S18)
COL (S19-S24)
NYS (S25-S27)

Ashley Owns is one of the best football players to grace ISFL fields. From the moment he entered the league teams knew he was going to be a handful for years to come, snagging himself a offensive rookie of the year with 1,500 scrimmage yards and 7 TDs, it was known from then on Owens would be a yardage monster. In an era full of elite RBs Owens was a unicorn in that he was a receiving threat. In only one of Owen’s seasons did he have less than 500 receiving yards, even in the later years he continued elite production through the air and on the ground. Owens was the first elite offensive talent we’ve seen in New York, having over 3,500 total yards in S25 was enough to secure himself a running back of the year award along with an offensive player of the year award. He is third in all time scrimmage yards and first in total yardage among all players. The most impressive bit is that he did all of this in 10 seasons. Owens is truly one of the best offensive players of all time.

(S18) - David Rector - ddrector - CB
NOLA (S18-S27)

David Rector was an unsung hero in a time the league was dominated by a tenacious NOLA defense. For the majority of his career he was tasked with locking down a team's second option, and while some may look at this as a way to discredit him. It showed his talent off that much better, Rector was a real nose to the ground grinder, over the seasons he showed why you don’t get to pass in New Orleans. Over the seasons Rector accumulated 31 interceptions, good for 15th of all time along with being 20th in all time pass deflections. Rector’s claim to fame came in S26 where he had one of the most dominant seasons of any cornerback, being able to get the Lineback of the year again defensive player of the year award, cornerback of the year and add a second pro bowl to his resume. Understanding what Rector brought to the NOLA defense in a time where they were historically great it is no wonder why he’s in the HOF.

(S19) - Austin McCormick - Nokazoa - TE
NOLA (S19-S28)

Austin McCormick provided a safety net for NOLA QBs for the nine seasons he was with the team. Becoming one of the best TEs in history in the process. In a time many TEs played out of the slot McCormick stayed lined up at the line, coming off the OL to not only clobber defensive lineman but snag plenty of receptions on his way to ranking 18th in career receptions. On top of this McCormick showed his dominance, after winning the Ultimus McCormick would then go on to win tight end of the year in back to back seasons, along with ranking up 6 probowls. McCormick also holds the 2nd place spot for postseason career records, showing off his receiving ability in full force when it mattered most. A well deserved spot in the hall for one of the greatest pure TEs of his era.

Frostbite
:Sailfish: (S22-S30)

Frostbite took an expansion team and made them into a force to be feared for seasons to come. The mantra Frostsuxlmap does not apply when coming to his ability to build a team. In Frost’s time with the Sailfish they only missed the playoffs once. Spouting a great 63% win percentage over his career along with two championships Frost did amazing things with the Sailfish. A GMOTY to top it all off cements Frost’s place in the GM HOF even if it was a bit later than others would want.

FlyEaglesFly
CHI (S17-S18)
YKW (S20-S30)
FlyEaglesFly is one of only four general managers to enter the 100 win club, doing so on a 62% win rate, which is no easy feat looking across the board. Fly took a team that had been the Buffalo Bills of the ISFL, constantly making the dance but coming up short, and turned them into a team to fear if they made it to the postseason. A consistent contender over his 10 year tenure in Yellowknife and it showed, 1 ultimus ring is hard enough to get for most GMs, three is an incredible accomplishment. 69% win rate in the postseason along with a GMOTY in S23 secures Fly’s place in the Hall.
