Hello ISFLers and Happy New Year to all!
Season 32 recently came to a close and we can't wait for S33 to kick off very soon. This has been one of the longest offseasons we've ever had, so thank you for your patience and we hope you all made the most of the extended break!
Without further ado, here's a few updates from around the league in recent weeks.
AWARD WINNERS
Congrats to our S32 award winners across the ISFL and DSFL! There were some amazing on field displays this season and a number of long-standing records broken. But a particular big shout out to the winners of the Most Dedicated Member awards.
@'Laser' has been one of the most consistently prominent and involved users of the league since I joined the league a year and a half ago, and it's frankly insane that he hasn't won this award previously! In recent times, he's headed up one of the most reliable assets we have in the Update Team. That's in addition to being an ultra reliable member of the sim team and making sure that everyone gets their daily Dotts pack. On top of this, Laser somehow finds time to GM an ISFL team. Congrats Laser!
Congrats also to our S32 DSFL MDM @Amadan! Since joining less than 3 months ago, Amadan has earned himself a GM position heading up Kansas City alongside firstfray, and has already proven to be a valuable member of DSFL league leadership, actively contributing to discussions and introducing rule proposals to help improve the league, as well as joining the roster of our brand new Community Moderation team.
SIM BALANCE PATCH
In case you missed it, the Sim Balance Team announced a patch that will go into effect in S34. Among the changes will be adjustments to existing archetypes, playbook reworkings and a new archetype for Wide Receivers! Go check out the Sim Info forum and look for Pat's most recent threads to explore all the upcoming changes.
We're working on an updated version of the player builder tool so that you can start experimenting with the new archetypes very soon.
POSITION SWITCH CHANGES
Position switching has long been a complicated process, but one that the league has always struggled to come up with an alternative for. Thankfully, Laser had the vision to put together a proposal that both reduced the complexity of switching positions and better balanced the compromises needed to make a switch, introducing a layer of realism based on the exact pair of old and new positions. NEW DEV HEADS
Super excited to welcome aboard @37thchamber and @Talls into league leadership as our new joint Dev Heads! 37th is an ISFL legend who has already put in countless hours into making the league a better place, and while Talls is a new face around here, he has some fantastic ideas for the future. I and the rest of HO can't wait to get working with them both!
@Exilizer has done a fantastic job as our outgoing Dev Head, most notably with the forum migration, a project that took an immense number of hours and went off without a hitch!

NEW DOTTS HEAD
A warm welcome as well to @'ConnorM' who takes over as the head of Dotts, ISFL's trading card company! He takes over from @mithrandir who did an unbelievable job building Dotts from nothing into the amazing asset that it is now. Thanks for everything Mith and enjoy a well earned break!
CHARITY DRIVE
As this comes out, the S32 Charity drive is in full swing!! You can now begin bidding on auctions and claiming perks that other members of the community have put up to help raise money for such a worthy cause, Cancer Research Institute, in honor of the beloved and sorely missed sim-league community member Emi, who for a lot of people, was an inspiration and role-model. Whilst there is lots of fun involved with the offerings, I ask you to take a moment to pay respects to not just Emi, but those in your own personal experience or generally, who have been lost to cancer or just prematurely, and how even a little bit from everyone, can go along way to helping all.
DISCORD PAYOUTS
Thank you to everyone who has been making the most of the ISFL Discord server over the past season. We're seeing great engagement and I'm delighted that we were able to pay 106 of you a grand total of $48.1M!
