For Fire Salamanders Tight End Gronku Muerto, the first 2 seasons if his ISFL career have been marked largely by change. Going from a big-shot award-winning player in the DSFL for Tijuana, it was eye-opening to become a starter in the ISFL and see how far ahead of him in talent the best players were. He went from a top target for his QB to being a short-yardage specialist, and the 5th (or even 6th!) option for his quarterback. After a lackluster rookie season stat-wise and a disappointing finish for the team, he buckled down and worked much harder the second season, and saw at least progress in the right direction, if not any spectacular improvement. He claims to have put in a lot of extra work in the training room to become a bigger contributor to the Berlin offense, especially in light of his youth and that there is much room to grow. However, his big new year resolution was in regards to his diet. Going from the beaches of Mexico where tacos and tequila were in abundant supply, to Berlin, where beer and sausage is the go-to dinner, it had a big effect. Gronku often felt bloated and fat in Berlin, and put on some weight, but not in a good way. Your body is much more likely to stack up on fat cells in the colder climates than it was on the hot sunny weather in Mexico. So Gronku made the conscious decision to learn how to tolerate jagermeister instead of beer, and is more likely to choose the leaner wiener instead of the delicious bratwurst. For a few weeks at least, Gronku will make the sacrifice for his team, as they look to get back to the Ultimus and win it all this season! It might be tough and I'm sure he will cheat and have the occasional flagon of ale, but that's ok as long as he practices moderation!

New year new me let’s go! With the start of the season 33 I hope to actually be able to better prioritize things with real life. I spend a lot of good fun times on discord and the stream but I do find myself just getting on randomly and forcing myself to find something to do on there. I need to figure out how to be productive when I’m on and ultimately make my time on more meaningful.

I think another big thing for me is not being so attached to the winning and losing but rather connections with the players in the different locker rooms. There are a lot of great people I have gotten the chance to meet through this league.

But most importantly this season I will be doing my best to help Kobe max warn and be an MVP caliber player in the isfl. I hope he is ready because I’m bringing the heat.

As a new player Joey Din does not have much of a resolution for the new year, but he does have much that he wants to accomplish during his first season and the new year

His first goal is to prove that he can succeed in the dsfl and later the isfl. When Joey Din joined the league he wasn’t really sold on it and didn’t think he would ever amount to much here. But after meeting his teammates on the grey ducks his mind changed. He plans to be a lot more active and improve his skills any chance he gets. He also wants to succeed at his new position. Joey Din just changed from WR to DE in order to be more of an asset to his team and more valuable of a prospect to isfl teams. He is really hoping to make an immediate impact and help his team make a run at a championship.

I am so looking forward to a new season to begin, and equally thrilled for the new year. There is something exciting about January, about a “fresh start”, a new year. Growing up, my father always asked us to write out our goals for the new year, and that tradition has stuck with me. I appreciate that piece of advice and the tradition from him, so I look forward to it each January.

I would like to be more open with my fans this season. So a big goal I have is to have some people tuning into the McHIts Mondays podcast! Each week we will be recording for you, and I am really looking forward to sharing those conversations with you all. I will certainly be hosting guests, so if you’re reading this, and are interested, please hit me up on discord. I would love to get you involved!

New season, new Sconnie?! This will be my first season playing up in the big leagues, as I'll be playing Middle Linebacker for the Colorado Yeti as I begin my ISFL career! My focus for this season as a player is to do the basics the best I can. I know I won't be racking up a ton of sacks, forced fumbles, or interceptions, but what I do plan to do is control the middle, help stuff the run, and solidly wrap up ball carriers. I'd love to finish the season with over 110 tackles and be in contention for Defensive Rookie of the Year. It is an award that I won at the DSFL level (ironically, also by really just putting up a large number of tackles), and I would absolutely love to repeat that here in the ISFL and continue to fill the trophy cabinet. If I do my job well, I can allow our other linebackers, Melvin Murder-Moose and Rusty Rucker, to get after the QB and really make some plays, which will lead to more wins for the Yeti!

After being the 6th overall pick in the DSFL draft, there’s a lot of pressure on Darius Bailey to deliver results immediately and be a big part of the Tijuana Luchadores’ offense this season. What this comes down to ultimately is his ability to adapt quickly, and so the resolution that Darius has made for the season is to not waste any time outside of football. In order to achieve the results that he’s aiming for in the timeframe he’s looking at, total dedication will be required and that’s something that he feels like he’s able to deliver. He’s sold his games consoles and computer, is limiting himself to using his phone for social media only for brand promotion purposes, and is spending his evenings solely watching game film rather than watching Netflix. Hopefully this is a resolution that Darius sticks to and it results in a great start to his rookie year out on the field!
