*ASFC Kicker Performances (Weeks 1-4) - xenosthelegend - 04-10-2022

I require currency to fuel my trainings, and tier 6 equipment for next season. I also think I am currently in debt, so let's fix that. It's also been a while since I've done one of these, and I feel bad about that.

Austin Copperheads
Jean-Jacques Leroy

Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 5/5 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 3: 2/2 Extra points, 0/0 Field goals
Week 4: 6/6 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards)
Total: 16/16 Extra points, 5/5 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards, 2/2 20-29 yards, 2/2 40-49 yards)

A new season, and hopes of a kicker of the year award is in play for every kicker in the ISFL. In order to reach that goal, a kicker must be as close to perfection as they can, and in very rare instances, reach perfection. For the first game of the season, Jean-Jacques Leroy set out to do just that. Austin did not provide him any chances to prove that he could reach this goal in the entire first half of the game as they were unable to score entirely. It was not until halfway through the third quarter that Austin finally broke through and let Leroy attempt his first kick of the season. It was a 46 yard field goal attempt. Wanting to start the season off right, and get one step closer to the final goal of kicker of the year, Leroy sent the ball through the uprights, putting 3 points on the board, and scoring not only his first points of the season, but Austin's first points of the season as well. Just three minutes later, an anemic Austin offense had an explosive play, a 75 yard TD pass from their quarterback Daytona to receiver Cowabunga. Leroy's first extra point attempt of the season was good, and scored one more point for Austin. Austin's next points occurred early in the fourth quarter, and came off of another explosive play, this time a 63 yard catch and run by Eighty-Two to score their second touchdown of the game. Leroy's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Late in the fourth quarter, Austin drove deep into the red zone, but was unable to convert on a 3rd and 3 from the 8. Leroy lined up for a 24 yard field goal attempt, his kick was good, and added three more points to Austin's total. With less than 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Austin scored a TD off of a 55 yard catch and run by Onion Man. Leroy kicked the extra point attempt through the uprights, scoring another point for Austin. Austin was now down by 3, and needed a field goal to tie, they had momentum on their side, and needed to recover the onside kick to have a shot. Leroy got a bit too excited though, and kicked the ball way too hard. The ball ended up going all the way to the end zone, and was kneeled for a touchback. The game ended there. Despite a late game lapse of judgement, Leroy was perfect when it came to scoring points.
While it took Austin quite a while to score points in week 1, it took them significantly less time in week 2, as they got a turnover within their opponent's 25 on the third play from scrimmage. RB Jim The Vampire punched the ball in from 2 yards out to score a TD. Leroy's extra point attempt was good, and added another point to Austin's total. Late in the fourth quarter, Austin had a strong drive going, but stalled out at Orange County's 30 yard line. Leroy walked out on to the field to attempt a 47 yard field goal. This kick was one yard longer than his first kick of the season. That did not intimidate him, as his kick was once again good, scoring three points for Austin. With 22 seconds left in the first quarter, Jim The Vampire punched the ball in again, this time from 1 yard out. Leroy's extra point attempt was good for the second time this game. After scoring many times in the first quarter, Austin managed just a single touchdown in the second quarter. Jim The Vampire caught the ball this time, and scored a 10 yard TD. Leroy's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Austin's first possession of the third quarter was a strong one. They managed to get a first down on the Orange County 2 yard line, and this time Zoe Watts punched the ball in from 2 yards out. Leroy's fourth extra point attempt of the game was good. With less than a minute remaining in the third quarter, Austin found themselves facing 4th and 4 from the Orange County 10 yard line. They decided to let Leroy attempt a field goal, for what would be a 27 yard attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored 3 more points for Austin. Austin scored another touchdown halfway through the fourth quarter. Leroy lined up for his fifth extra point attempt of the game, and what would be his seventh kick of the game. History has a tendency to repeat itself, and that remained true here, as Leroy's fifth extra point attempt of the game, and seventh kick was good.
After a very eventful week 2 for Leroy, he saw much less action in week 3. It took Austin until they had less than 2 minutes remaining in the first half to score any points. Leroy's extra point attempt was good. Leroy sat on the bench for a while after that, contemplating how this game would affect his kicker of the year chances. Then his team scored a second touchdown, extra points do not hurt your chances at all, so he was very excited to attempt his second extra point try of the game. His kick was good, and added one more point to Austin's total. This point was mostly insignificant for the game, as Austin got blown out.
After a relatively uneventful week 3, Leroy wanted to have a big week 4, and a big week 4 he did have. It took a bit of time for the scoring to start for Austin, but once it did, there was a lot. Jim The Vampire punched the ball in from 2 yards out late in the first quarter to score their first TD, Leroy's extra point attempt was good. Halfway through the second quarter, Austin scored their second TD of the game, Leroy's second extra point attempt was good. Halfway through the third quarter Austin intercepted a pass, and ran it all the way back, 77 yards, for a TD. Leroy's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Just five minutes later, Leroy got to attempt another extra point as Austin scored their fourth TD of the game. Leroy's fourth extra point attempt of the game was good. Zoe Watts then punched the ball in from 1 yard out to score Austin's fifth TD of the game early in the fourth quarter. Leroy's fifth extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the fourth quarter New York finally managed to stop Austin's offense, and stuffed them on 3rd and 4 from their own 6 yard line. Austin sent Leroy out on to the field to do something he had not done in 2 weeks, attempt a field goal. He lined up for the kick, this time a 19 yard attempt, a chip shot. The ball was snapped, the holder got the ball down, and the kick was good. Leroy added another three points to Austin's total. With less than 2 minutes left in the game, Austin was already up by a lot of points, but they really wanted to put the game out of reach as they scored another TD, this time a 1 yard run by Zoe Watts. Leroy's sixth, and final kick of the first four weeks was good, and he remained perfect through the first quarter of the season.

Honolulu Hahalua
Freddy Bly

Honolulu scored their first points of the new season with about 2 minutes left in the first quarter of week 1.The drive they had was quite a long one as it spanned over 9 minutes. The drive ended by their QB Zaylren finding Ami for a 2 yard TD pass. Freddy Bly walked on to the field to attempt his first kick of the season, an extra point attempt. His kick was good, and scored one point for Honolulu. Halfway through the second quarter, Honolulu scored their second TD of the game, Bly's second extra point attempt of the game was good. With less than 2 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Honolulu scored their third TD of the game, this time RB Cobra Kai ran it in from 2 yards out. Bly lined up for the extra point attempt, but this time his kick was no good, it was wide right, and with that miss, his chances of kicker of the year took an early hit, he would have to be perfect from here to have a chance. Wanting to prove that he could still get kicker of the year, when he lined up for a 43 yard field goal attempt, he had a chance to prove to himself that it could still happen. His kick was away, and it looked like initially it would be good, but a gust of wind sent the ball off course and it missed wide right again. With just 36 seconds left in the game, Honolulu put some faith in Bly, and let him attempt the game winning field goal. This time it was a 46 yard field goal attempt. The snap was good. The holder got the ball down. Bly's foot connected with the ball, and it was off. The ball felt like it stayed in the air for a while. As the ball was approaching the uprights, it lost steam, and barely managed to make it over the crossbar. The kick was good, scored three points for Honolulu, and won them the game.
After his late game heroics last week, Bly's confidence was restored. Early in the first quarter of week 2, Honolulu scored a TD after getting a turnover on the third play from scrimmage. Bly's extra point attempt was good. Late in the first quarter, Honolulu scored their second TD of the game, and Bly's second extra point attempt of the game was good. With 58 seconds remaining in the second quarter, Honolulu got a pick six, Bly's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the third quarter, Honolulu found themselves stuck on the San Jose 2 yard line. Instead of going for it, they decided to kick a field goal. Bly lined up for a chip shot 19 yard attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored 3 more points for Honolulu. Just 2 minutes later, Honolulu scored their fourth TD of the game, and their third on offense. Bly's fourth extra point attempt of the game was good. To put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter, Honolulu let Bly attempt a 22 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, added three more points to Honolulu's total, and gave Honolulu some breathing room for the final drive by San Jose. Honolulu won the game, and has now started 2-0.
In week 3, Honolulu took their opening drive, marched right down the field with chunk plays, and scored a TD after 5 minutes. Bly's extra point attempt was good, and scored one more point for Honolulu. With less than 2 minutes left in the first quarter, Honolulu found themselves unable to make any progress at the Arizona 30. Bly walked on to the field for a season long 47 yard field goal attempt. His kick was good, and scored three more points for Honolulu. To start the second quarter, Honolulu scored a TD after 2 minutes. Bly's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the second quarter, Bly lined up for a 33 yard field goal attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored three more points for Honolulu. Off of a turnover early in the third quarter, Honolulu let Bly attempt a 38 yard field goal attempt. Bly's third field goal attempt of the game was good, and added three points to Honolulu's total. Halfway through the fourth quarter, Honolulu let Bly attempt his fourth field goal of the game. This time a 25 yard field goal attempt, Bly's fourth field goal try, and sixth kick of the game, was good, and scored three more points for Honolulu.
In week 4, Honolulu took their first drive of the game for a TD in 4 plays, including a 52 yard completion to Ami. Bly's first extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the first quarter, Cobra Kai punched the ball in from 1 yard out, and scored a TD for Honolulu. Bly's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the second quarter, Honolulu found themselves almost converting a 3rd and 12 on the Colorado 13, but came up one yard short. Bly lined up for a 19 yard field goal attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored three points for Honolulu. With 26 seconds left in the second half, Honolulu decided to go for a field goal instead of try for a TD. They were rewarded with 3 points as Bly's kick from 33 yards out was good. Late in the third quarter, Honolulu scored another TD, Bly's extra point attempt was good. Early in the fourth quarter, Honolulu scored yet another TD. Bly had another extra point attempt go through the uprights, and score one more point for Honolulu. Just 2 and a half minutes later, Honolulu let Bly attempt his seventh, and final kick of the game, a 40 yard field goal attempt. History repeated itself as Bly's kick was once again good, adding three points to Honolulu's total.

Orange County Otters
Dallas Dole

Week 1: 2/2 Extra points, 3/3 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 1/1 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)

Total: 8/8 Extra points, 8/8 Field goals (4/4 40-49 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 3/3 40-49 yards)

In week 1 Orange County got off to a quick start scoring, as their first drive ended after about 3 and a half minutes in 38 yard successful field goal attempt by their kicker Dallas Dole. It took Orange County some time to get back to their scoring ways though as late in the second quarter, they finally scored again, this time it was a TD. Dole's extra point attempt was good. Late in the third quarter, Dole had another field goal attempt, this time a 26 yard attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored three more points for Orange County. Early in the fourth quarter, Orange County gave Dole his most daunting task this season so far, a 46 yard field goal attempt. Undaunted by the task ahead of him, Dole set foot on to the field, and nearly kicked the ball out of the stadium. The kick did go between the uprights, and three points were added to Orange County's total. Late in the fourth quarter, Orange County scored their second TD of the game. Dole's second extra point attempt of the game was good.
While not getting off to as fast of a start at scoring as they did in week 1, Orange County still got off to a quick start in week 2. Dole attempted a 28 yard field goal try halfway through the first quarter. His kick was good. With less than 2 minutes remaining in the second quarter, Dole lined up for a 41 yard field goal attempt, his kick was right down the middle, and scored another three points for Orange County. It would take until the fourth quarter for Orange County to score again. This came in the form of a TD with 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Dole's sole extra point attempt of this game was good.
In week 3, Orange County scored on their second possession of the game. Halfway through the first quarter, QB Carter hit Oath for a 50 yard catch and run which resulted in a TD. Dole's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Halfway through the third quarter, Orange County scored their third TD of the game, this time a run by Goat Tank Jr. for 1 yard. Dole's third extra point attempt of the game was good. With less than 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Dole lined up for a 27 yard field goal attempt to make it a 2 score game. Dole delivered as his kick was good, and added three more points to Orange County's total.
Halfway through the first quarter of week 4, Orange County RB Goat Tank Jr. broke off a big run of 44 yards and scored a TD. Dole's extra point attempt was good. Late in the second quarter, Dole lined up for a 44 yard field goal attempt. His kick was good again. Just one minute later, Dole found himself lining up for an extra point attempt. His defense had gotten a pick six. Dole's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Then Dole had to sit on the bench for a while as it took until there were 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter for him to be called on to the field to attempt to score points again. This time it was a 25 yard field goal attempt. His kick was good for the fourth time this game. Dole remained perfect through four weeks, but had lower volume than his peers so far.

Arizona Outlaws
Cade York

Week 1: 3/3 Extra points, 3/3 Field goals (2/2 30-39 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 1/1 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards)
Week 3: 1/1 Extra points, 2/2 Field goals (1/1 40-49 yards, 1/1 50+ yards)
Week 4: 2/3 Extra points, 1/2 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 0/1 50+ yards)
Total: 7/8 Extra points, 7/8 Field goals (2/2 20-29 yards, 2/2 30-39 yards, 2/2 40-49 yards, 1/2 50+ yards)

In week 1, Arizona scored their first points of the season late in the first quarter. Arizona drove down to the Austin 17 yard line, but found themselves facing 4th and 9. They elected to go with a field goal attempt, and sent their kicker Cade York to attempt to score their first points of the game. York lined up for a 34 yard field goal attempt. His kick was good, and scored the first three points of the season for Arizona. Late in the second quarter, Arizona scored their first TD of the season, a 7 yard pass from their QB Sailor to Crash. York's first extra point attempt of the season was good. Early in the third quarter, Sailor hit Raimon for a 52 yard catch and run for a TD. York's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Late in the third quarter, Jay Cue Jr. ran the ball into the end zone from 7 yards out for a TD. York's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Early in the fourth quarter, Arizona had what looked to be a TD drive, but their QB was sacked on 3rd down, which put them into a situation where they decided to take a field goal. York lined up for a 32 yard attempt. His kick was right down the middle, and scored three points for Arizona. York's last kick of this game happened at 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter. He lined up for a 42 yard field goal attempt. His kick was once again good, and added three more points to Arizona's total.
Week 2 saw Arizona take a bit longer to score points. Their first chance to score points came halfway through the second quarter, They drove down to the New York 6 yard line, but were unable to score a TD. York walked out on to the field for a 23 yard field goal attempt. A chip shot for him, his kick was good, and scored Arizona's first three points of the game. But Arizona did not have a great day scoring this time, as they only managed to score points once more this game. That instance happened with less than 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter, as their QB Sailor hit Crash for a 67 yard catch and run for a TD. York's only extra point attempt of the game was good.
Arizona's scoring troubles seemed to be over as week 4 began, as York hit a season long 51 yard field goal halfway through the first quarter. Just 3 minutes later, Arizona would score again, this time it was a TD. York's extra point attempt was good. But then, Arizona forgot how to play offense, and went without scoring until late in the fourth quarter. Arizona got to Honolulu's 29 yard line, and sent York to attempt a 46 yard field goal. His kick was good, and made a lopsided game look slightly less lopsided.
Late in the first quarter of week 4, Arizona finally scored a TD as their first points of a game. This seemed to confuse York as he missed the extra point wide left. Early in the second quarter, Arizona asked York to attempt another 51 yard field goal attempt, the distance he hit from last week. This time however, he was unable to get the kick through the uprights, as he barely missed it to the right. Maybe he was overcompensating for his previous miss. York seemed to figure out what was going wrong with his kicks as halfway through the third quarter, Arizona scored their second TD of the game, and this time York's extra point attempt was good. Late in the third quarter, Arizona had a drive stall out inside the San Jose 5 yard line. Instead of going for it on 4th and goal, they decided to send York out to attempt a 21 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, and scored three more points for Arizona. With less than 2 minutes left in the game, Arizona intercepted San Jose, and scored a TD on the next play. York scored the extra point to make it a 7 point lead. Arizona would not relinquish the lead, and went on to win the game to get back to 0.500.

San Jose Sabercats
Jack Lewis

Week 1: 2/2 Extra points, 3/4 Field goals (1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 30-39 yards, 1/2 40-49 yards)
Week 2: 3/3 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 30-39 yards)
Week 3: 2/2 Extra points, 3/3 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards, 1/1 20-29 yards, 1/1 40-49 yards)
Week 4: 1/2 Extra points, 1/1 Field goals (1/1 40-49 yards)
Total: 8/9 Extra points, 8/9 Field goals (1/1 <20 yards, 2/2 20-29 yards, 2/2 30-39 yards, 3/4 40-49 yards)

It took San Jose until there were 2 minutes left in the first quarter for them to score their first points of the new season. It was off of a 23 yard field goal attempt. The ball was kicked by their kicker Jack Lewis. Halfway through the second quarter, they once again asked Lewis to kick a field goal, this time from 40 yards out. His kick was good, and added another three points to San Jose's total. With just 10 seconds left in the second quarter, San Jose called a timeout and let Lewis attempt another field goal, this time a 39 yard field goal attempt. For the third time this game, his kick was good, and put another three points on the board for San Jose. Late in the fourth quarter, San Jose finally managed to score a TD, this time after an 85 yard catch and run by Crossley to set up a run by Mason Malone from 2 yards out. Lewis's kick was good, and added another point to San Jose's total. Having been perfect on field goals up to this point, Lewis was feeling confident when he was asked for a fourth kick, this time a 40 yard field goal attempt. He missed his kick wide right, and this time three points were not added to San Jose's total. With 2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, RB Tatsu Nakamura ran the ball in from 2 yards out for a TD. Lewis's second extra point attempt of the game was good.
San Jose was unable to score in the first quarter of week 2. It took until there were 10 minutes left in the second quarter for them to score. Their QB McKyle connected with Nakamura for an 18 yard TD pass. Lewis's first extra point attempt of the game was good. Early in the third quarter, San Jose scored their second passing TD of the game, this time a 12 yard completion to Jaycee Higgins. Lewis's second extra point attempt of the game was good. Early in the fourth quarter San Jose had their third passing TD of the game, this time a 6 yard completion to Crossley. Lewis's third extra point attempt of the game was good. Less than 3 minutes later, Lewis attempted a 36 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, and added three more points to San Jose's total.
After being unable to score in the first quarter last week, San Jose was able to score in the first quarter this week. A 12 yard TD pass was how they managed to put points on the board this time, and Lewis attempted an extra point. His kick was good, and added one more point to San Jose's total. Late in the second quarter, San Jose found themselves facing 4th and 1 from the Baltimore 10 yard line. Instead of going for it, they decided to take the field goal. Lewis lined up for a 27 yard attempt. His kick was good, and put 3 more points on the board for San Jose. With 7 seconds left in the second quarter, Lewis attempted a 17 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle for the chip shot, and put 3 more points on the board for San Jose right before the half. Lewis would attempt 2 more kicks this game, both in the third quarter. Early in the third quarter, San Jose got a TD. Lewis's extra point attempt was good. Late in the third quarter, Lewis lined up for a 40 yard field goal attempt. Having made one from 40 yards, and missed one from 40 yards, this would determine if he could truly hit from exactly 40 yards. Lewis proved he was capable of hitting from 40 yards as his kick was good, and scored three points for San Jose.
In week 4, Lewis sat on the bench and watched as his opponent missed 2 kicks at the start of the game. Wanting assert dominance over the other team, he walked on to the field late in the second quarter to kick a 44 yard field goal. His kick was right down the middle, scored three points for San Jose, and more importantly asserted dominance. What he was unaware of was that he had lit a fire in Arizona's kicker. Arizona's kicker would not miss a kick for the rest of the game. The same could not be said about Lewis as early in the fourth quarter, San Jose had scored a TD. Lewis walked on to the field for the extra point, his foot made contact with the ball, and the kick was no good, wide left. Late in the fourth quarter, Lewis got another chance at making an extra point, as Tatsu Nakamura punched the ball into the end zone from 1 yard out. This time his kick was good, and added another point to San Jose's total.

My wrists started hurting, part 2 tomorrow maybe.
