Hey fellas, I’m gonna write a short media about my boy Graham Harper. So my unbiased opinion is that he is the cornerback of the future, but you know. I’m super biased so like don’t take my opinions as gospel. Unless you’re subscribed to the church of the Dobble, which is valid and I love you. Let your dances be flawless and stylish. Anyways I have stats to back up my statements, let’s get into it.
So with my advanced analytics, I have access to Harper’s stats up to week 12, but like I think this is a good frame of reference! Harper, at this point in his rookie season, has a claim to be a nominee for the Cornerback of the Year award. Let’s break it down in terms of the catch rate.
Now for those of you who don’t know(like me until I asked), catch rate percentage is the amount of catches the person that G Harpo covers gets. The catch rate is currently, up to week 12, 59%. This is one of the lowest in the league, people who are trying to throw on him are getting denied half the time. When Graham is on the field, it’s a 50/50 ball ALLL THE TIME.
His pass deflections are top three as well with 21 PDs. His INTs are at three as of week 12. But Jason, it’s week 13! I hear you but I’m sleepy and that’s hard to check on mobile honestly. Just kidding. His pass deflections are at TWENTY FIVE now. And he’s got 4 INTs on the year. That’s one game that really has him popping off. You wanna see it? Me too, fam.
It’s week 13 against the Ducks. I always inadvertently roast the Ducks on these but it’s fine. 4 Passes deflected and 1 Interception from G Harpo seems to occur all in the first half. The first drive has new MIN QB Nova Montague trying to throw it down field. Back to back, I see “broken up by Graham Harper” here and they lose the ball sometime after!
Now let’s fast forward to the second quarter where Pete Zuh just goes off for two touchdowns in the first five minutes. There’s a lot of QBs in this game, wow. Just a side note. So picture that you are MIN QB Landers Jr. and you’re tryna pass it downfield. One pass sails towards Lane Frost II, and it’s broken up immediately by Harper. That’s fine, you try some other recievers and get the first down to get within FG range. So then you go “I’ll try Lane again”.
There’s the interception. Oh no, MIN. I try to find that last pass breakup but I really don’t see it anywhere. It’s weird idk. If someone can let me know where that other pass deflections was, that would be very appreciated. It’s very much killing me that I can not find it.
Either way, Graham is automatic and I think he’s going first round. You’ll be lucky to pick him up honestly and I’ll be expecting him to pod with me soon @PurpleReign
