Buff Run Support SS and CB - kcheng686 - 09-01-2017

Currently Run Support CBs and SS are easily the worst DBs in the class, with the lowest starting and max TPEs out of their respective classes.

-----------------

Class: Run Support CB

Problem: Easily the worst CB class in the NSFL. Has the same Max tackle as All-Around, making it so there is really no reason to pick Run supp over All-Around, which may have lower STR but much better Agi and Speed.

Solution
Add +10 TPE (55->60) to Starting tackle, +15 TPE (45->55) to Str: starting TPE 410 -> 435
Add + 10 to Max tackle(75->85): Max TPE -> (1555 -> 1630)

Why: These buffs work to make him sort of a win now rookie role, where he has by far the best starting TPE(by 10), but by far the worst Max TPE(by 65 to Zone CB). These buffs also give accent to his tackling ability.

-----------------

Class: Run Support SS

Problem: Same as the Run Support CBs, they are easily the worst type in their class. Sort of a Jack of all trades, master of None

Solution:

Add 10 TPE to Tackle (65-> 70): Starting TPE ->(426 -> 436)

Add 125 TPE to Max tackle(85->95) , Add 25 TPE to Int (75->80) , Add 100 to Str(80->90), Subtract 10 TPE from Hands(70-> 65): Max TPE -> (1505 ->1755)

Why: Unlike the Run support CB solution, this makes the Run Support SS a late game build, with the lowest starting TPE by 10, but the highest Max TPE of all S by 25 and tied for the second highest Max TPE of all DBs. This also clearly outlines the strength and weaknesses of the Run Support SS, with the ability to now work as a secondary LB or DE, while reducing his coverage ability, as most Run Support SS play in the box anyway.

-----------------

I hope the NSFL council thinks these buffs are reasonable and agree to help two of the worst classes in the NSFL right now.

Better yet, get rid of both because those types of positions don't really existing in the NFL today. Replace them with Slot Corner and Hybrid LB/SS (or Moneybacker as they're also referred to as) a la Matthiew/Peppers/Killebrew/etc, and change their stats to reflect those roles.

What position would moneybacker be? The sim allows safety or lb

Agree on CB.

Run Support SS or Box Safeties are big in the NFL

Safety for the sims sake, the same as it is in the NFL. But you can put any player at any position, so you'd change them up based on position, make it a rotational role if necessary. If you need them full time, use the SS slot, if you want to get fancy with it, they'd play in the nickel/dime role, or if you use the formation 'target run' that the Sim offers, you could slot them in there. They could also be slotted in the Sam LB slot for 4-3 or an OLB slot for 3-4. The whole point of that role is versatility. They don't really excel at either role, but can be a split bridge between front 7 and secondary. Seeing the success they're having in the NFL and college football, it's odd we don't have that role here.

I would argue that a SS by definition is a run support/box safety. So maybe add the Moneybacker and keep the run support?

Moneybacker is basically a coverage LB and All Around SS combined tbh

In the modern NFL there really aren't SS and FS. Safeties should be interchangeable to not give away defensive tendencies

I'm camping so I can't give a full reply, but the problem with the proposed "best starting" archetype for CB but it ends up being the worst is that people would just choose it to start ahead and then at the end of their third season just use their archetype swap to change to another one
