*Trip Back Home - TheHammer43 - 07-23-2022

It's been a long time since I've been back home, probably the longest I've gone from visiting my whole life! I'm used to only going to different provinces for only a few days before I go back home. Growing up in a Canadian Football household and being an only child is different from your average home. We watch every CFL game together, and always had a family member in the stands watching me, from Peewee football all the way to my days at MAC(McMaster) I always had someone there to support me, so this transition to America has been tough, It's hot, like really hot, I don't know anyone but my teammates, and of course, American Football is way more different to me, Like whenever its third down I'm pumped but then remember "shit they have one more down." So I'm taking the weekend off to fly back to Hamilton and visit some relatives, I think the time away has really gotten to me mentally and maybe it's something I need to do to get back into the mix of things, Personally, I haven't been performing to my standards, I imagine if I were to say that to one of my teammates they'd say "no you're playing fine" or "Don't worry about it" But I went from getting at least a sack a game to getting like two or three tackles, and I want to get this monkey off of my back. For me all it takes is a little mom and dad encouragement, My dad always taught me little techniques to give me an upper hand, of course, they were all old school D line moves that no one really uses anymore but trust me it does the trick and makes me happy. Mom, oh mom, You've never met a lady so into football in your life, just listening to her describe shit to you about football blows your mind, I wish the girls in Dallas liked football just as much as she does.

But don't worry about me Dallas I'll be back for practice and I'm hoping that I'll be a hundred percent mentally and physically like I need to be, This "Killing the quarterback drought" I've been on has killed my morale. Maybe some good ol' Canadian fun is just what I need to get back into my groove! See you all after the weekend!
