*Flying Under The Radar - Daybe - 09-02-2017 Your favorite analyst, Advans S. Tistics is here, interviewing S3 draft prospect Clifford Rove. AS: 1st question: I've noticed some prospects have gotten more attention because they were a waiver pickup (Brice Boggs, Trey Willie) than you, although your TPE total isn't that far off from them, and you have more TPE than a lot of waiver wire prospects. what changes because of this? CR: I don't think much should change because of it. I have faith that the GM's have been diligently scouting and know my skillset and what I bring to the table. I would say I was a little surprised no one picked me up even as a backup, but now with the DSFL I know wherever I go I can make an impact. I've tried to keep a relatively low profile, I'm not going to hold out just because a team isn't my top choice. Whatever team takes me clearly has faith in me, and I expect to return that with faith to them. That being said I hope to go somewhere that there is a path to making an impact early. AS: 2nd question: to which team and at what position do you think you will go in the draft? CR: I'm really not sure to what team I'll go. A lot of teams are set at quarterback, so I'm very interested to see. I have no question in my mind that I should be an early first rounder, but we'll see how the cards play out. AS: is there any team in particular you'd prefer getting drafted by? CR: No team in particular. I'm happy to play wherever I get drafted, and hope that I can build a long relationship with that team. I would hope that the team has a plan to install me as a starter at some point, not necessarily right away, but I would rather not be waiting 3 seasons for my chance. AS: lots of teams have great starting quarterbacks. would you be open to playing other positions? CR: At this point, with the introduction of the DSFL and a couple of teams that could use a QB, my answer is no. For teams that are seemingly set, all it takes is one player to go inactive for there to be a place for me, and I feel that I'll be at the top of many lists to be that replacement. AS: What sets you apart from other quarterback prospects and prospects in general? CR: I feel I'm definitely the most skilled out of any quarterback prospects by a long ways. From other prospects, while I might not be the consensus top pick skills wise, I think that if you factor in my demeanor and leadership skills I should be at the top. There really isn't a question in my mind that I'm a top 3 prospect. Hopefully the GM's see that, but if I fall in the draft then whoever is taking me should know that they got a steal. AS: what are your goals for your player? CR: I want Rove to be remembered as a franchise player with a team-first mentality. Obviously I hope he goes down as one of the greats, but its equally important to not just be chasing championships in my opinion, but to really become the face of a franchise. AS: Final question: is there any statement you'd like to end on, to make your presence known to everyone who will read the article? CR: Pretty much just that I'm a team player and would be a great addition to any team. Also to anyone planning on holding out, thats sorta lame but you do you. AS: Thank you for your time Mr. Rove. 622 words Please slide @Yurt6 $400,000 GRADED |
