soevil Conduct Detrimental - .Laser - 08-16-2022
It has been brought to the attention of Head Office that user @soevil has, in multiple league spaces, sent repeated harassing messages to and about members of the league due to their affiliation with a specific ISFL team. After a thorough investigation, HO has determined that these messages contain various levels of insult and inappropriate hostility toward other members of the league. soevil has been spoken to on multiple occasions by various members of league leadership about their conduct and has continued his pattern of contact despite this. soevil was warned unofficially by a member of HO very recently. However due to official reports and additional information being brought forth in those reports, as well as the user's seeming flippant response to said warning, Head Office (jointly as ISFL and DSFL) is now issuing an official warning to soevil under Sec IX.C (conduct detrimental).
soevil will be issued an 8-week Sec IX.C probation beginning on August 15, 2022 and ending on October 10, 2022. During this time, any Sec IX.C violations (which may occur on Twitter, official league discords, official league forums, or in DMs) will result in immediate termination of soevil's DSFL GM position in addition to other punitive actions based on the severity of said violation.
HO wishes to specify that removal from position would not be due to any mismanagement as a GM. However, it would be because future violations have and would negatively affect the development of rookies and the fostering of a supportive environment for users at large.
soevil may appeal this decision by reaching out to @Attopax or any member of the appeals team (currently manicmav36, Tesla, 124715, bwestfield, JKortesi81, woelkers)

I am about to rant about the shit that goes on in this league that is unacceptable. I am putting it in gm chat because it is not something for everyone to see but this is my journal so I get to write what I want. The power in this league is mishandled and blatantly abused. The biggest bully in the league, better known as Laser, is continuously put on a pedestal by those in head office and others around the league. He has bullied multiple people out of the league and accused many more of cheating. He is the biggest problem in ISFL, yet somehow no one does anything about it. He has publicly bullied anyone and everyone who has said something he even slightly disagrees with. He also claims to care about things like using the word "Mountain Dew" or other football stuff. His attempt to silence those who disagree with him is no more than a power trip and an attempt to continue his grasp on this league. I would love to give specific examples but that would mean quoting from management chat and Laser will probably report me for "leaking" the chat. We all know he has reported multiple people because of his own attempt to come off as the nice guy. Do not let him fool you, he is not a nice guy, he enjoys inflicting mental abuse and pain upon others, especially those who may have a different sense of humor or a different view from his. He has relentlessly picked on me because I made a suggestion to management about the game that he did not like. Honestly it was probably not something that could be implemented anyways but this was over a month ago and I still hear about how I only make bad suggestions and have bad ideas. Sure I do not make the best suggestions every time and there are always flaws in any idea but I have been disregarded and told my ideas are terrible by laser and his cult followers, as well as being told they have zero respect for me. Fuck you Laser.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Wasn’t sure as Twitter was regarded as its own space, so wasn’t sure if YouTube was considered a league space or was missed. Thanks for the quick response.

Although I appreciate Head Office promptly stepping in and levying a warning, stopping at a warning sets a dangerous precedent for the future.
Under the rule cited - conduct detrimental to the league - the minimum punishment is a suspension. Insofar as a user has been engaging in conduct deemed detrimental to the league, HO has a codified route to follow. By choosing to bypass that codified route, HO is only muddying the waters on what is and isn’t negative conduct.
The user in question here was harassing rookies to the point that they did not want to go to certain teams in the ISFL draft because they were concerned he would continue to harass them. Even if he apologies after the fact, that’s dangerous behavior for anyone in the league to be engaging in, let alone a DSFL GM who’s primary job is to foster and engaging environment for the newest members.
Although this restricts the user from doing anything publicly, it creates the potential to push his behavior underground - into private team spaces - where there is less public ability to push back on his claims and negativity and only furthers his ability to negatively impact rookies or indoctrinate them into negative viewpoints.
The punishment is also only a timeout, what is the recourse when the day after it lapses he reengages in his behavior? There is no deterrent in this ruling to prevent the behavior in the future.

Appeal. The characterization of “sent harassing messages to and about members of the league” is highly inaccurate and slanderous.
