*Coyotes Rout League Leading Buccanners - voxaroth - 09-21-2022

Emotions were high in the Kansas City locker room on Tuesday night as the Coyotes pounded their way to a 34-14 victory over the league leading Bondi Beach Buccaneers.  The story of the night was an incredible effort put out by the Kansas City defense, limiting the Buccaneer running game and creating key turnovers.  Coyotes cornerback Bacarri Rambo had a particularly good game, intercepting Bucs quarterback Grayson Yates twice, bringing his total to 4 picks on the year.  Yates, not known for turning over the ball, came into the game with only 7 interceptions so far this season making Rambo's night one for him to remember.  Defensive players Brian Duke, Hands Solo, and Caleb Hayden all continued to impress, combining for 26 tackles, 2 sacks, and 1 forced fumble on the night.

On offense, impressive blocking up front by Brandon Mason, Dusty Wilson, and Seth Leavitt allowed for another stellar night from running back Blibby Shpoopy, whose tremendous speed allowed him to carry the ball for 94 yards, and has averaged 6.1 yards per carry in the last two games.  Queen Elizabeth II spread a balanced attack against the Buccaneers defense, highlighting both Sherwin Blue Jr and Johnny Blaze Jr in the open field for a total of 165 passing yards and 2 touchdowns on the night, including one to tight end Shawn Legge.  Newcomer Nathan Peterson added 10 points with two field goals and went 4/4 in extra point attempts.

The Coyotes look to salvage a tough season with some solid football as the DSFL closes out in the coming weeks, rallying behind the emotional leadership present in the locker room.  After the game, players all came together to support and congratulate each other for their efforts.  We asked recently acquired tight end Seth Leavitt what he thought of the team chemistry after the game:

"These guys really want to win and have caught a tough break this year.  The desire is there, and I think you can see that coming together.  They're supporting and genuinely want everyone else on the team to succeed.  When I caught my first clutch pass, they swarmed me like I'd just won the Ultima, it's just that kind of positive energy and vibes from everyone.  I'm thankful to have been picked up by the Coyotes as my experience with a club".

As they prepare to play the Birddogs at home next week, we can only hope that Coyotes continue to hit their stride in full.  More is on the line than just a win or a loss; it's clear this team is playing for their own pride with plenty of heart.
