*Team Needs Heading Into S38 Draft - Nathan - 10-07-2022

Every football teams have areas where they can improve their roster, even those at the top.  Some have...more than others and desperately need to inject their roster with talent from the draft.
Note: I will be combining Defensive Ends and Pass Rushing Linebackers into an "Edge Rusher" position.
List done by original draft order

AUS - Austin Copperheads; Needs LB, IDL
The Copperheads roster was better than I expected, with a core of young high earning players in several positions I'd consider highly important, including Wide Receiver, Offensive Line, Cornerback, and Edge Rusher.  The defense however has a large hole in off-ball linebacker and the interior defensive line.  The linebacking core currently constructed has a 235 TPE inactive player and their best off-ball guy is roughly 600 TPE from the S33 draft.  The Copperheads will be Carly Rae Jensen, a GM recreate at Nose Tackle, so they should be dead set on linebacker in the 1st round.

COL - Colorado Yeti; Needs OL, LB, DT, EDGE
This defense has massive holes that need fixing now.  They have no human offensive lineman after Manhattan Project retired, their best linebacker is entering regression, and the rest of their linebackers are all inactive.  Their two IDL are both under 300 and are effectively inactive as well (Yeti has not visited the forum in a month.)  While I would personally beef up the offensive line, the absolute dearth in the front seven would likely win out considering how defense heavy this year's top draft prospects are.

NYS - New York Siliverbacks; Needs EDGE, IDL, LB
With only one human defensive lineman on the roster for Season 38, and that player being a S37 rookie, the Silverbacks front seven are in need of an extensive overhaul through the S38 draft and beyond.  While their linebacking core has more TPE than other LB needy teams, Teemo Swift is the only active linebacker with one of the inactives regressing to about 650 TPE.  They could go a bit off the board and use offensive line, as their only OL is a 32 TPE player from S36.

SJS - San Jose Sabercats; Needs LB, CB, EDGE
There are only two linebackers on the roster, and one is both inactive and regressing in Konstantin.  The secondary while decent at the moment, is aging and will likely need an injection of youth either this draft or next draft.  The defensive line is deficient in talent as well.  While no one in that group is regressing this season, the best player being 650 TPE is concerning, especially if with the roster not having a bevy of linebackers to back up the defensive line.  While not listed, offensive line could be an idea as well since Jaja retired and McKyle is regressing, leaving Dane Johnson Jr. who's sitting at 500 TPE.

OCO - Orange County Otters; Needs EDGE, S, LB, IDL
The Otters have a bevy of draft capital to fill holes in the roster over the next two seasons after the Tron Carter trade.  They have both the 5th and the 8th pick this draft, as well as Philadelphia's 1st round pick next season unprotected.  This roster needs that injection of youth 4 1sts will give, as many positions here are facing major regression.  Their best defensive player last year TPE-wise was Rocco Blade, who will get punted down to about 850 TPE after regression.  After Blade, much of the pass rush at the edge position is very limited.  The secondary needs this youth as well, as their best safety is regressing hard and his partner is 230 TPE from S35.  The offensive line for the Otters is lacking as well; with one human offensive lineman sitting at 520 TPE and inactive in Dallas Fort-Worth.

BER - Berlin Fire Salamanders; Needs OL, WR, EDGE, RB
Bageshwari Singh has been sacked 140 times in the last two seasons combined.  That is over 4 sacks per game and it is complete death knell for any offense.  The only human offensive lineman, Marquees Acho Jr., is an inactive player who is regressing this offseason and already gave up the most sacks of any lineman last season.  Even with an aging or lacking receiver core after Zayne Dangle, giving Singh time in the pocket is an absolute must in that offense.  The defense also needs some reinforcement, as the current defensive ends are both aging, inactive, and already low TPE.  With no 3rd round pick and their 2nd being used for a GM recreated safety, that 1st rounder is key in helping this team.  The running game is notably limited due to said poor offensive line and Berlin's running back being a 500 TPE inactive.

BAL - Baltimore Hawks; Needs Everything
This is a roster that has aged out of it's Ultimus window and was unable to re-stock in the draft.  All of their key talent is regressing except Sconnie McSix and (hopefully) future quarterback Preston Beatz.  The Hawks have nearly half of their team regressing, as well as many of them being inactive.  The running back duo of Goose and King has two seasons left in the gas at most, the front seven has only three players active, the secondary is either aging, inactive or both, and to top it off Lenard Graf retired before even facing regression.  Gimmy Jarappolo Jr. regressing hard and retiring might be a savior for the tanking the Hawks will partake in for the next three seasons.

PHI - Philadelphia Liberty; Needs EDGE, QB
Looking at the roster construction for Philadelphia is surprising to compare to their performance this season, sitting 9-7 and missing the playoffs.  Even with top end players regressing like Tony Demonson and Dominos Pizzaman they have players ready to slot into their place.  The only positions that look to be missing are edge and QB, with the latter being a regressing Tron Carter.  Unfortunate for Philly there is one QB in this draft and isn't exactly max earning.

NOLA - New Orleans Secondline; Needs EDGE, LB
Another young team that looks to need to put the finishing touches on a roster.  It helps with the cavalcade of prospects New Orleans has waiting in the DSFL such as Rockbot Rockbo and Jason Oexius.  The only glaring holes seem to be another defensive lineman which could be filled in by IDL Charles Chapman and linebacker a 170 TPE starting player.

CHI - Chicago Butchers; Needs CB, LB, WR
What will likely be Kazimir Oles Jr's final ride since he'll be below 700 TPE (not including post regressing updates) and an aging roster.  While the defensive line has a youth renaissance, a large part of the roster does not.  After Austin Morley the Butchers have no WRs to take the place of Vincent Sharpei Jr. and Rejoignez Lordesombre once they age out, they have only one cornerback on the roster after Art Deco went for cheesesteak, and the linebacking core has one player not facing regression.

HON - Honolulu Hahalua; Needs EDGE, LB, IDL, OL
The tank has begun in Honolulu, marked first by a bevy of retirements including stalwarts like Cade Williams, Sal Ami, and Eleven Kendrick-Watts.  Most notable was Dexter Zaylren, making way for S37 rookies Nova Montagne and Adrian St. Christmas.  The final nail in the coffin was trading offensive lineman Beniri T'Chwama to New Orleans for a 2nd and 4th.  That elite defense has aged out and needs an overhaul.  Even with everything said, I would assume most aren't sweating that much with the two Ultimus trophies.

YKW - Yellowknife Wraiths; Needs LB, QB
This is a well built team top to bottom and that was proven in their 11 win season NSFC final appearance.  The unfortunate thing is that their biggest glaring hole is at quarterback with Dustin Parmalee regressing.  This is especially problematic with there being only one quarterback in the upcoming draft.

SAR - Sarasota Sailfish; Needs IDL, LB
Back to back runner's up, the Sailfish are going to feel especially incensed if the team cannot get over the hump.  While the offense is stacked if beginning to regress, the more pressing issues look to be in the interior line and off-ball.  Lennay Kekua, while a shoo-in for All-Pro in Season 37, is beginning to regress, and Mistah Freddy is inactive at 400 TPE.  Beyond that will likely be some picks for eventual replacements.

ARI - Arizona Outlaws; Needs EDGE, S
The Outlaws have decided to stop getting completely humiliated in the ASFC Final every year since like Season 28 and finally win the whole damn thing.  The Ultimus winning roster is still an absolute killer, with some holes.  Those holes are mainly edge rusher with Erick Bolanos regressing and safety with Tre'Mendus Johnson in his 3rd round of regression.
