(S38) PT #1 - Rocky Road

Complete the weekly Point Task to earn 3 TPE! All written responses must be at least 150 words. PT's may be submitted in another language, if you mention what language you are translating into, to make the job of the grader easier.

Do not claim this TPE until it has been graded and posted to the S38 claim thread. This task is due next Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 at 11:59 ET. Have fun and get writing!

Written option: As another offseason comes and goes, a new season begins! As usual, your player's looking like the picture perfect athlete, but how is that? For this PT, describe what sort of activities your player does in the offseason to remain in shape and keep conditioned for the regular season. Do they go on a massive juicing diet? Go for long jogs on the beach? Perhaps they pad lock the pantry to avoid the temptation of snacking? Let us know!

Graphic Option: Create a graphic that showcases your player participating in an activity that keeps them in tip top shape for the regular season.

Affiliate claims from SHL and PBE are accepted; link directly to your post and add a note if your username is different there. Make sure the week of the affiliate PT matches with the week of this point task.

Written and graphic responses must be posted solely in this thread and not for additional media credit. Also, if you try to build your word count by being super repetitive and rambling on, you will not get full credit. If you are caught plagiarizing/stealing someone else’s work, you will be punished as HO sees fit, including the potential loss of TPE or money. Do your own work please. If you have a non-full PT pass and would like to use it this week, make sure to post in the thread. No need to post in the thread if you have a full PT Pass.

If you have ideas for future PTs, visit the link below, and your idea may be used next week!!

There are a few things that Kotoni Staggs does to remain in tip top shape during the off season.

Staggs enjoys the long walks amongst the dunes and rocky outcroppings that the great Arizonian Desert has to offer. He loves getting out in nature and going for both meandering strolls and also out for runs and setting personal bests on runs. His favourite trails to journey on are the Devil's Back Trail and the Cathedral Trails.

Staggs enjoys hitting a round on the green. Which are surprisingly green amongst the arid and desert wasteland that Arizona has to offer. Arizona has some of the best desert golf courses in the United States of America. His favourites are TPC Scottsdale and the Grayhawk Golf Club. He will often be able to convince his team mates, like Sailor to join him. When Sailor wakes up early enough to go with him.

Staggs is notorious for snacking. So he meal preps carrots, cucumber, hummus and crackers with lots of fruit and his favourite zucchini brownies so that he doesn't go overboard during the week on snacks during the day.

During the off-season, Derrick Prince gets up to a bunch of wacky stuff.

In Bondi Beach, he spent some parts of his off-seasons partying - I mean, he’s Prince Pleasure, of course he’d be the life of the party. Some memorable moments of his party era included jumping off Chris Hemsworth’s yacht and waking up shirtless at 3am in the hottest danceclubs. He didn’t go out often - but when he did, it was a hoot and a half.

He also enjoyed a pretty niche hobby in football players, collecting Legos. It started out small - he was gifted a Singapore set during his draft party, an NYC set for his birthday, nothing much. Then the collection got bigger and better - Camp Nou, Taj Mahal, the Queer Eye set, all the best ones that money could buy. An entire wall of his home in Camden is filled to the brim with sets - and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

If Calvin Spiff wants to remain in the tippest of toppest of the shapes, he has to follow an extremely strict diet and exercise schedule. It might seem a little weird to the average person, but the results don't lie.
First things first, he starts off every day at 3:43am with a prank call to Tijuana's GM, @Jaywe88 pretending to be his son he never knew he had. You would think that at some point after the second or third call that Jason would know it was fake and stop falling for it, but here we are an entire season later and he still gives the call the time of day (or night technically, lol).
After that, he normally gets a little hungry from all his hard work, so he order Doordash delivery for the local Indian place for breakfast. Normally, the restaurant doesn't do breakfast, but since Spiff accounts for an entire quarter of their monthly income due to the population of Yellowknife and the absurd amount of curry that he eats for breakfast, they come in early just for him.
After a nice, spicy breakfast Panang, Spiff decides it's time to work out. He works every muscle one by one in his each one of his fingers. "My hands are my masterpiece. My career would be ruined if not for the complete trust and craftsmanship it takes to make hands like these." That's not one of Spiff's quotes; he would never be so haughty. But he likes it the same and put it on a motivational poster in his home gym with a picture of a kitty's paw* to really drive home the point.
After working out his hands for 3 hours straight, Spiff then does 6 push-ups and 17 sit ups and calls it a day.
Back at home, his personal servant has spent the entire morning tanking his rating on Overwatch so that Spiff can come home and play against people that are really bad and feel like he is really good.

I know what you're thinking, "hey, that doesn't work. You're just making that up." And you would be absolutely right. I'm just writing this for TPE. And I just wanted to make a way to ping @Jaywe88 and make fun of him.

Brock Landers Jr. had a very strange off-season. After writing his name into the Dallas record books last season, he found himself lacking the time to fully commit to his level of excellence at the quarterback position. His solution? Play cornerback. Nobody in this league does a single thing except man coverage, so it’s super easy to just show up at practices and games and go. Dermit Lavelle was able to do it, so it can’t take a genius by any measure. While Brock has been emotional following his unexpected departure from the cornerback position, he knows that after one more year of seasoning in Dallas, he will be a CB1 for Chicago next year. An exciting position to be in for a player who thought his dreams of greatness may just be gone. Brock Jr. has worked primarily on his speed and hands, knowing that his intelligence from the QB position should carry over well.

Seth Leavitt finds that counting his calories helps him keep the spare tire off his midriff, and works hard to make sure that the calories he does eat are filling enough to keep him from being hungry.  His day starts with a protein shake; he adds two scoops of chocolate whey protein, one cup of whole milk, a spoonful of almond butter, some flax seed, and a banana; and blends it up into 700 calories of filling goodness.  For lunch, he eats grilled chicken and cooked vegetables tossed in various sauces.  A pre-workout snack consists of yogurt and an apple, followed by a smaller protein shake after exercise.  For dinner, he fills his plate with 50% vegetables, 25% meat, and 25% carbohydrates.  He doesn't eat anything until breakfast the next morning.  His drinking is either coffee or water.

To workout, Seth starts with stretching and 30 minutes on a rowing machine.  He then does 30 minutes of lifting, consisting entirely of four barbell lifts:  military press, bench press, squats, and deadlifts.

He's strict about his diet and exercise, but has found ways to make them quick and enjoyable, which has kept him in such great shape with minimal effort on his part.  (202 words)

Tank McGibbons has always been a farmer. In the offseason, he is back at home helping punch cows and bail hay. The only thing he has had to let go of since becoming a linebacker is having seconds of mama's cooking. As many in the midwest United States can attest to, midwestern cooking is heavy. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast, a nice meaty sandwich for a light lunch, then a cheesy casserole for dinner. And of course plenty of beer to keep yourself well lubricated. All this heavy food worked out spectacularly for creating a wrecking ball of an offensive lineman. But doesn't quite work so well for making a lean, mean, tackling machine of a linebacker. Mama says she understands and is proud of Tank, but deep down he knows that she is a bit hurt. Hopefully, with Tank now playing in the big leagues, he will be able to make up for it somehow.
