As the Yellowkinfe Wraiths entered thier locker room after thier 27-21 extremely close victory vs the Colorado Yeti, there are many sighs of relief from the entire team. Jack McPherson did have a sense of slight elation after managing to get the game sealing fumble recovery in the final seconds of the game, one of the few turnovers he has had in his career. Soon enough, the team sits down on the benches while the Yellowkinfe coach Arkz came in for his post game speech:
"I am not gonna lie to you all" Arkz chuckles as he begins "that was a bit of a mess of a game. I know some people would say that close right games can sometimes be what Yellowkinfe football is about, but that was a rough one. Still we managed to tighten up and get the win, and right now that is all that matters. When our offense was cooking, we managed to get the points we needed to put the game away. That goal line stand was extremely clutch, but if we were up by only 3 or less then they would not have had to go for it on 4th and goal and the game could've ended way differently then it did."
"As for the goal line stand, it made my heart go faster then I thought it could honestly. Jack and Dragazor got the sacks we needed to hold them off at the goal line, and Spears forced the last fumble that Jack recovered to seal up the game. Jack notably had 10 tackles, a sack, and that fumble recovery. Greywolf had 6 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, and 2 pass deflections. Kahn Cussion had 6 tackles, 2 sacks, a pass deflection, and an interception. Simon the Frog had 6 tackles and 2 pass deflections, Spears had 5 tackles and the game winning forced fumble, Mekhar had 3 tackles and 2 pass deflections, Blaze had 3 tackles, a sack, and a pass deflection, and finally Sam Sung had 3 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 pass deflections and an interception.
And Ted Murphy had 2 tackles and Miles had a tackle and a sack. Now for the offense: Dustin went 23-32 for 313 yards with one touchdown and one pick,both of our running backs got a touchdowns (I can't spell ether of your names, I am really sorry about that), and Brot got a receiving touchdown. Double Doink also made a field goal and was perfect on extra points, and he had 4 punts for 189 yards total with 2 landing inside the 20. Overall, this was a nice bounce back win even if we did cut it close. Let's get on our way to preparing for next week"
The locker room all voiced thier approval as they all went to grab thier stuff from thier lockets. On the way, Jack accidentally bumps into Kalam Mekhar, nearly making him drop his stuff.
"Oh I am so sorry!" Jack says as Mekhar recovers enough to hold onto his things
"Man don't even worry about it" Mekhar replies "I've been meaning to talk to you anyways. I've wanted to tell you this: the way you've been acting, the respect you've been giving out to everyone in the locker room you meet, that doesn't go unnoticed. You've been giving out respect, so I'll give the same back to you: that was a hell of a performance tonight. You've been carrying yourself like a vet as of late. All of us here really appreciate you doing your best to be the best on and off the field."
"Wow thanks! That really means a lot" Jack says as he finishes emptying put his locker for the day "now let's build on this momentum next week." They all agreed as they went to head out of the stadium and bsvk to thier homes.
