*DSFL S41 Prospect Breakdown - Offense - toofpete - 02-14-2023

Here's Part 2 of the DSFL Draft Prospect Breakdown and we're about to get Offensive!!

Quarterbacks:

1. Lloyd Bannings

Bannings' ascension has been wild this year and he's someone who many are saying could be the first QB selected. He is still far from a sure thing and evaluators will have to figure out whether his final amazing season in college was an exception or the norm.

He has very good arm strength and can easily make any throws with effortless deep passes. Bannings moves well has quick feet and can escape a pass rush. He has shown patience in taking the check-down throws when necessary and has good zip on his throws. He has great zip and ball placement on the quick slant. Good touch down the seam and on post-corner, flag routes to attack the defense vertically and horizontally.

He has a tendency to overthink plays and stare down his WRs too long. Bannings will need to work on being more cerebral at the next level.

Projected Round: 1st

2. Jake Jefferson

Jefferson possesses the best athletic ability of the two QB prospects in this class without a doubt - he is strong, has a powerful running style, is super-fast, and elusive with probably the strongest arms in the class. He's a Dual-threat quarterback with athletic footwork and mobility. An instinctive runner with very good toughness - uses stiff arms and runs with good body strength.

However, he struggles with accuracy, is very raw, and currently needs a lot of development time to learn the intricacies of the pro game. If he goes to a team that is willing to let him develop his elite athletic talents without rushing him into action, he could become a special player. He should be regarded as the ultimate boom-bust prospect.

Projected Round: 3rd

Running Backs:

1. Elliott Berry

Berry is an excellent running back prospect and we could see him starring on a run-first team where he would have no problem regularly clocking up 1000-yard-plus seasons if featured correctly. Between his power and speed, he could dominate in most situation, but e isn't perfect however and will have to improve his skills as both a blocker and a receiver if he wants to be considered as an ideal three-down back in the pros.

Berry is well-built with a thick frame and powerful lower body which keeps his legs pumping through contact. Patient behind the line of scrimmage, allowing blocks to create openings, and looks for cutback lanes with accurate vision. He's mostly an off-tackle runner who mostly relies on his first step before the secondary level, he's very quick and often breaks past the line of scrimmage.

Projected Round: 1st

2. Ezra Azazel

Azazel's stock has risen quicker than any other running back in this year's class - coming from being a virtual unknown to one of the top prospects in the group.

He has some of the best receiving skills of any back in the class and could quite easily be used as a wideout at a pinch. He has good speed, a nice feel for the game with great vision as a running back, and crucially has been injury-free his entire career. Azazel's only major downside is his poor blocking technique and his lack of dominance as a power runner.

That being said, he has excellent hands and the skills to line up as a wide receiver and run a full route tree with long arms and an elite catch radius. He has the feet and feel running between the tackles and in the open field. He has very good vision and the patience to pick through defenses.

However, he lacks size to be a true power back, will not move the pile at the next level

Projected Round: 2nd

3. Sid The Sloth

Sid is an impressive athlete with lightning quickness, the speed you look for in a back, and fantastic receiving ability - he also is an impressive edge runner who can go the distance any time. We project Sid to be an elite third-down back in the NFL with the chance to be a versatile multi-role player - even playing some slot receiver.

He flashes initial burst and good lateral quickness to sidestep defenders or bounce runs outside with very good foot quickness. Displays very good feel as an inside and outside runner and makes sharp cuts - good patience· and footwork to pick through defenses. He also shows a great burst to beat linebackers to the edge and can plant his foot in the ground and explode, showing elite straight-line speed.

Projected Round: 2nd

Wide Receivers:

1. Legs McMillion

McMillion has elite top speed, fantastic agility, and acceleration combined with consistent natural soft hands. He has both the talent and athletic ability to make a serious impact in the pros as a deep threat and return specialist.

McMillion is a fluid athlete with explosive burst and speed to stretch the field and breeze past defenders. He has a quick first step and gets to top speed in a hurry and
is surprisingly difficult to bring down for smaller corners. He's fearless over the middle and effortlessly splits cover 2 zone schemes deep. Legs possesses great hands and elite top-end speed he has torn through defenses at the FBS level up

Projected Round: 1st

2. Forozka Duanei

Duanei will be an excellent pro - he has elite speed, good hands, runs perfect routes, and is a hard worker who gives everything at game time. However, does not have elite athletic traits and will have to get by with technique at the next level. He has some similarities to receivers like Marvin Harrison - who manage to put up great numbers without possessing elite athletic ability.

He's an incredible deep threat with amazing leaping ability with often super sticky hands. He runs perfect routes and is often used on deep routes, getting separation down the sideline or over the middle on crossing routes by extending his arms rather than pure speed.

Duanei is an elite talent and consider him to have the highest floor of any receiver and a fantastic value pick especially if he slips into the second round.

Projected Round: 2nd

3. Oliver Tolliver

Tolliver is a top-level prospect that will have a chance to dominate at the next level. He has elite speed and a surprising catch radius with excellent hands giving him the potential for circus catches. He can run on the outside against stronger corners, but also has the ability to play in the slot as well.

He's a savvy, natural pass-catcher with reliable hands and very good focus. Tolliver snatches the ball out of the air and shows the concentration to make acrobatic catches look easy. More impressive than his overall speed is his burst. Tolliver demonstrates an ability to slide past defensive backs at the line of scrimmage and he has some of the best hands in the country at wide receiver, which will serve him well in the pros.

Projected Round: 3rd

Tight Ends:

1. Max Honestly

We have really struggled in finding any major downside to Honestly's game, which has steadily improved until exploding in the DSFL Prospect Bowl. He's athletic, very strong, fast enough, an absolute killer as a blocker, and is a total terror as a receiver and has put up jaw-dropping numbers as a result.

Honestly is the best tight end in this year's class and will start from day one and could quite quickly become a star in the pros.

He's very strong as a blocker and puts opponents on the ground, but also has enough speed to challenge DBs vertically. He has a strong, athletic frame with room for an additional 10 pounds of muscle mass and adjusts well to the ball in the air - and has a natural feel for the passing game.

Projected Round: 1st

2. Kenny Szymborski

Szymborski is a quality NFL prospect who could well become an impact receiver at the next level. He possesses good speed and nice hands and has a knack for finding gaps in zone coverage. However, doesn't have the ideal size you look for in the position and lacks the power to make a major difference as a blocker.

He comes off the snap fast, low, and hard, runs low and accelerates quickly, and has very good lateral agility enabling him to have an impact as a run blocker. He's an excellent receiver and is threat going deep who has displayed excellent YAC skills, soft hands, and flashes good to very good tracking and overall body control to make catches outside of his frame.

Projected Round: 2nd

3. Nick Williams

Williams is a good athlete, with quickness, size, and natural instincts who is also hard to bring down in open space and is an elite blocker. He has excellent technique and there is zero wasted motion in his game. He is sure to be an asset to whichever team drafts him as he has a very high floor.

Williams has soft hands and excellent ball skills. He effortlessly catches the football away from his frame and releases from in-line alignments effectively. He has a well-rounded set of tools as a pass catcher and is adept at going up to make contested catches because he high points the ball well and has strong hands to control the ball while getting hit.

Projected Round: 2nd

Offensive Line:

1. Trent Silverback

Silverback is an amazing specimen on the offensive line and has pretty much everything you can ask for in a player, however, he isn't perfect and has some issues. Most notably he is undeveloped as a pass protector and can be beaten by some of the faster edge rushers. Despite this, we are very high on Silverback and consider him an elite talent in this draft.

He's a very versatile player who has played both on the left and right side. Silverback is a total dominator in the run game - the best run blocker in the nation and his awareness is above-average for his limited experience. He sells trap blocks well and can turn to seal. He's very fluid  and adjusts well at the second level.

Projected Round: 1st

2. Modest Mussorgsky

Mussorgsky has all the potential in the world. He has elite strength, is very quick for his size, and has tremendous drive in the running game. He isn't perfect though and isn't an accomplished pass blocker... yet - and will need more development. Despite this, he is still one of the best offensive lineman in this year's class and he's even more in demand due to his versatility and ability to play all across the line.

He's a big athlete with good bulk and a filled-out frame. He stays balanced and doesn't overextend in pass protection, has good bend and leverage, and very quick feet and explosive off the line of scrimmage.

Projected Round: 3rd

3. Bubba Chubb

Chubb is a massive man with ideal size for the position who has dominated at the college level and improved every year while doing so. He has freakish athletic talent combined with solid technique and quickness.

Chubb attacks his man, playing with a wide base and the lateral agility, sustain and shuffle to help inside. He has the size, strength and quick feet to be effective as a position run-blocker.

Chubb has the ability to mirror speed from the outside, with the strength to defeat power bull rush moves while being a solid positional run blocker who flashes the nasty demeanor and killer instinct scouts covet.

Projected Round: 3rd
