*S41 ISFL Mock Draft - TubbyTim69 - 04-04-2023

Welcome everyone to my S41 ISFL Mock draft. S40 was an exciting season that saw the Arizona Outlaws and the Bondi Beach Buccaneers with the Ultimus and Ultimini. You also saw the New York Silverbacks finish last place in the league (LOL zayn get wrekt). However, the best part of being the worst team that season….. First overall pick. So without further ado, lets get this rolling!!!!

1st Overall Pick -  NYS
team needs WR, CB/S, LB
Selection: John Stark VIII LB POR

With the First overall pick in the S41 ISFL Draft the New York Silverbacks Select…..JOHN STARK VIII. There are plenty of prospects that fit the Silverbacks Needs but this LB sticks out above the rest. Starks is an all around player at the Linebacker position. He finished his first season in the DSFL with 84 Tackles, 5TFL, 2 FF and 7 sacks. Stark has been the centre piece of the Portland Pythons Defense and will play a key role in the future of New York.

2nd Overall Pick - COL via BAL
team Needs WR, RB, CB
Selection: Wolfie McDummy Jr WR DAL

The Yeti grab one of the most explosive and dynamic WR’s in the draft. Wolfie had 54 catches for 818 yards and 8 TD’s. Wolfie will likely be an immediate call up for Colorado as they look to add a dynamic pass catcher ASAP. With 2 more picks in the 1st round, Colorado nailed this one by filling arguably their biggest hole early.

3rd Overall Pick - HON
HON Team Needs CB/Safety, TE, DT/DE
Selection: Ezra Azarel CB TIJ

Azarel, The former RB made a switch at the start of the season to the CB position and has not looked back at all. Azarel established themselves as a lock down CB fairly quickly after making the switch. Finishing the season with 50 tackles and 17 PD’s. They finished with 2 INT’s with one being a pick 6. Honolulu is slowly working through their rebuild stretch and this Defensive stud is going to help them for a long time.

4th Overall Pick - OCO via SJS
team needs WR, CB/S, DE/DT
Selection: Oliver Tolliver WR BBB

Otters get the stud WR they have desperately been looking for. Tolliver was one of the premiere pass catchers in the DSFL this past season and has helped lead BBB to an Ultimus appearance. Tolliver finished the season with 48 Catches for 748 Yards while hauling in 8 TD’s. Tolliver seems to be another rookie who could be making a full time appearance in the ISFL sooner rather than Later.

5th Overall Pick - NOLA via BER
Team needs RB, CB/S, DE/DT
Selection: Jumbo Edward DT POR

NOLA gets a mean, nasty Defensive tackle with this pick in Jumbo Edward. Jumbo was another big key piece to the Pythons stellar Defence this season. Jumbo tallied up 30 tackles and 4 sacks this past season in the DSFL. While it may not look pretty, This is a player who can be a huge difference maker in the Trenches.

6th Overall Pick  NOLA
Team needs RB, CB/S, DE/DT
Selections: Rico Savage S  NOR

NOLA add another key player to their defense by selecting Rico Savage here. With their 2nd pick in the 1st round, NOLA has a safety who finished the season with 80 tackles, 4 sacks, 2 INTS and 6 PD’s. Rico is advertised the same way his last name is pronounced. Savage isn't just a good safety, but their versatility makes them valuable by being able to line up in the slot as a corner or play down in the box as a LB.

7th Overall Pick - COL
team Needs WR, RB, CB
Selection: Loose Cannon LB LON

Yeti get an absolute STEAL with their 2nd 1st round pick. Cannon stormed onto the DSFL scene early this season. The Royals LB finished with league leading 125 tackles with 6 sacks and 1 INT. Another incredibly versatile LB, Cannon can do it all. I will be absolutely shocked if he ends up falling this far but if he does, Colorado has themselves a winner. Cannon will be another rookie to watch out for, for potentially being a day 1 ISFL player. Yeti seem to be doing a quick, effective rebuild and will be a force to reckon with very, very soon.

8th Overall Pick - SAR
team needs WR, TE, LB
Selection: Craig Brand LB DAL

Sailfish get one of the best pass rushers in the draft. Craig Brand finished the season with 122 tackles and 8 sacks adding 5 PD’s. Brand was 2nd in the league in tackles finishing just behind Cannon. This is another pick where I'd be shocked if they fell this far. Brand will bring their nasty and aggressive pass rush skills to Sarasota where he'll be a key part of the defense.

9th Overall Pick AUS
team needs RB, TE, LB
Selections: Bruce White DE POR

Copperheads could use a pass rusher that has all the qualities Bruce White does. White tied the single season sack record by recording 18 sacks in his first DSFL season. White has the high motor to be a wrecking ball at the ISFL level. The mix of speed and power will cause issues for opposing OL. My guess is when it is all said and done, Bruce White will be one of the best pass rushers to go through the ISFL.

10th Overall Pick -  CTC
Team Needs: CB, WR, LB
Selection: Mary Marie S BBB

Crush need help in the secondary and Mary Marie is a perfect fit. Mary had herself an outstanding season for Bondi Beach, tallying up 67 tackles, 1 FF, 2 sacks, 14 PD and 6 INTS’s with one being a pick 6. Marie is also an outstanding Kick returner averaging 19.8 yards per return. Her ability in the passing game is going to be a game changer for the crush. It;s safe to say that Mary Marie is going to … Crush it ……

11th Overall Pick - COL via OCO
team Needs WR, RB, CB
Selection: Dubb Redd DT TIJ

This could potentially be a spot that the Yeti trade out of, but for the sake of this mock they aren’t. Instead, they will be drafting DT Dubb Redd from Tijuana. Redd was an anchor on the Tijuana front lines tallying up 44 tackles, 6 sacks and recording a safety. Redd imposed immediate threat to offences and Yeti get to benefit from drafting BPA by getting a stud in Redd this late.

12th Overall Pick - CHI
Team Needs: RB, S, CB
Selection: Kadarious Claypool II CB NOR

The CB depth in this draft is deep, but not wanting to risk getting one later in the 2nd round, The butchers snatch up Claypool with this pick. Claypool was a shut down corner.. And when i say shut down … i mean SHUT DOWN!. Claypool had 81 tackles but what really jumps off the page is the 28 PD”s along with 3 INTS. Claypool is going to be a clutch player in Chicago as they are really looking for “The Guy” at the CB position. If it’s any other draft year Claypool is a top 5 pick. But with the depth of players he slides to the later stages of round 1.

13th Overall Pick : YKW
team needs WR, LB, CB/S
Selection: Artemis Entreri WR MIN

Wraiths grab a good prospect in one of their biggest needs. The wraiths have enjoyed being dominant the past few seasons but if they want it to continue they need a future WR1.Artemis finished the season with 655 Yards off of 47 Catches with 3 being touchdowns. Entreri also played a large part in the special teams via Kick and punt returning. They averaged 17.4 yards per KR  and a 6.3 PR average. Entreri will likely have 1 more season in the DSFL before showing his skillset at the isfl level.

14th Overall Pick ARI
team needs WR, DE/DT, S/CB
Selection: Billy Jor-El DT MIN

The newly crowned Ultimus Champions select a massive DT to incorporate into their Championship defense. Jor-El finished the season with 48 Tackles, 4 sacks and 4 TFL. Jor-El brings unique athleticism to the DT position. The outlaws have had a few legendary DT’s come through their organization and Jor-El seems to be the next one. Jor-El is capable of filling the gap quickly but physically and should impose their power against all ISFL OL for the foreseeable future.

BEST OF THE REST

With such a large class in S41, there are bound to be players who have a 1st round grade but are likely to fall a bit. The players below are players who in my eyes, would be a 1st round pick any other season but are likely to slide to round 2.

Liath Squirrel LB MIN

Squirrel finished the season with 103 tackles, 13 TFL, 3 FF/1FR, 6 sacks, 1 INT and a Safety. If Squirrel is sitting there at the start of the 2nd round, I wouldn't be shocked to see some movement from teams trying to get a LB that missed out in round 1.

Roland Onyxgut DE BBB

Onyxgut finished with 42 tackles, 7 sacks, a TFL and a safety. Onyxgut played a huge part in the Buccaneers winning the Ultimini this season. Like Squirrel, Onyxgut wont last long in the 2nd round as teams will for sure be buzzing with them still available.

Benji Aguilera WR TIJ

Aguilera has the best shot out of these 5 to be selected in the 1st round. Aguilera finished with 931 Receiving yards with 5 TD’s on 55 Catches. Aguilera had a whopping 16.9 Catch average per reception. A true deep threat, Aguilera is going to make life miserable for any CB’s in the ISFL level.

Nick Williams TE LON

Williams had a fairly solid year as a TE, finishing with 492 Yards and 5 TD’s. Williams also had 20 pancakes, showing that they are as effective in the Run game as they are in the passing game. Williams is a true redzone TE who’s big athletic frame allows them to out power their opponents.

Benjamin Duvernay POR

Duvernay finished with 54 tackles and an Interception for the Pythons this past season. Pythons had a very dominant defense and Duvernay played such a large role. Being the shutdown corner, Duvernay allowed time for the pass rush to develop and was a true shutdown machine. Duvernay wont last long come the 2nd round and is poised to be one of the first once selected on day 2 of the draft.

Thank you all for taking your time out to read the 1 media piece i will be doing in 2023.
