*Analyzing the first round of the fantasy drafts - JuOSu - 09-12-2017
Every group has already finished round 1 of their fantasy drafts, so I took a closer look and saw some interesting results.
Only one player was picked in every group in the first round - Reg Mackworthy. There were seven different first overall picks and seventeen different players and teams picked in the first round.
I will show how many times someone was picked, their average draft position in groups where they were picked, how many times they were first overall pick (when applicable) and further created a simple point system where the first pick gets 6 points, 2nd pick 5 points, 3rd pick 4 points and so forth, while those not picked get 0 points.
Here are the results (sorted by my point system):
1) Reg Mackworthy - 15 times picked - 1.93 ADP - 76 points - 5 times first pick
2) Outlaws Defense - 12 times picked - 3.08 ADP - 47 points - 3 times first pick
3) Josh Garden - 11 times picked - 3.36 ADP - 40 points - 3 times first pick
4) Boss Tweed - 9 times picked - 3.88 ADP - 28 points - 0 times first pick
5) Darlane Farlane - 9 times picked - 4.11 ADP - 26 points - 1 time first pick
6) Bubba Nuck - 11 times picked - 5.1 ADP - 20 points - 0 times first pick
7) Leroy Jenkins - 5 times picked - 3.4 ADP - 18 points - 1 time first pick
8) Bradley Westfield - 3 times picked - 2.66 ADP - 13 points - 1 time first pick
9) Chris Orosz - 3 times picked - 3.00 ADP - 12 points - 1 time first pick
10) Robert Phelps - 3 times picked - 4.00 ADP - 9 points - 0 times first pick
11) Logan Noble - 2 times picked - 4.00 ADP - 6 points - 0 times first pick
12) Mike Boss - 2 times picked - 4.50 ADP - 5 points - 0 times first pick
13) Kendrick Hendrix - 1 time picked - 2.00 ADP - 5 points - 0 times first pick
14) Liberty Defense - 1 time picked - 2.00 ADP - 5 points - 0 times first pick
15) Fox North - 1 time picked - 5.00 ADP - 2 points - 0 times first pick
16) Omar Wright - 1 time picked - 5.00 ADP - 2 points - 0 times first pick
17) Maryan Jackson - 1 time picked - 6.00 ADP - 1 point - 0 times first pick
So as you can see, there seem to be three absolute top players in Mackworthy, Outlaws defense and Garden. After that Tweed, Farlane and Nuck follow. Nuck was picked more often but less highly. Jenkins is also still a somewhat common pick. Anything after that seems like a reach already that users could likely have gotten a round later, especially Hendrix, Liberty defense, North, Wright and Jackson probably had no reason to be picked in round one.
