Introducing Weekly Poker Night! - TeyonSchavari - 04-26-2023

Hello ISFL!

I want to give a huge thank you to @LiathTheSquirrel for taking lead on this event.

Starting on the 5th of May the Community Engagement Team will be running a weekly Poker Night at around 10:00PM eastern time. We will be using the Discords built in Poker game. It has some issues but it’s free and people can easily watch. Okay now the fun part, if you agree to join you will have $100,000 League money taken from your bank. If you win your table you will win a Maximum of Seven hundred thousand League money.

Winning Hands

Poker Night uses Texas Hold ‘em rules but the game has an odd way of deciding the winning hand that way it doesn’t have to use one of the two cards that only you have, it just uses the best five cards meaning if the five best cards are the community cards that is the winning hand. If that happens the game counts it as a draw and returns all chips.

If Poker Night takes off we will be doing league play. But what is league play? Well if you win a Table instead of winning all of the players at the tables buy in you win half of the buy in and the other half will go into a big Pot. You will also get a spot in a winners Table for a chance at that big pot.

That's not odd, that's how Texas Hold 'em works, you use the best 5 cards available. There's another poker game called Omaha which is similar to TH, but you get 4 cards instead of two and you HAVE to use two of your cards.

Gah what a great freakin idea. I will get in on one of these, but it probably won't be for a while. Love "real" low-stakes poker.

I can't believe I missed this (well, I can, but I wish I didn't). Is it still a thing?
