*S42 QB Draft Class Race - Part 3 - Aleris - 05-05-2023

It’s what you’ve all been waiting for Part 3 of the S42 Rookie QB chase, and oh my how the race has closed the gap. We are now half way through the season and all 3 of our rookie QBs are looking like 1st round potential material. Yes, that includes a surprise. Let’s get into it.

Josh Patterson - London Royals - Tier S (above A)

Josh Patterson continues his reign as not only the best *rookie* QB in the DSFL but also the best QB in the DSFL. Under his guidance, London have continue to score *almost* 30 points and came including an astounding 51 point game against Dallas, where Josh set the DSFL single game record for Touchdowns. This man is absolutely on fire and shows zero signs of slowing down. Doing my best real life analysis of this situation, Josh Patterson would be touted as the number 1 overall pick in the upcoming ISFL draft and it wouldn’t even be close. I just hope he likes Cajun food because there is New Oreleans in this kids future. He’s so good, I could even see him going true rookie, which London would sorely miss him. Record against other rookie QBs 2-0.

RE #38 - Bondi Beach Buccaneers - Tier B+

After a week 5 blowout loss to Kansas City and what was looking like another bottom finish for RE #38 on this list. RE #38 has turned the script on its head. He went into the Tijuana, the top defense in the league and undefeated and dealt Tijuana there first loss of the season in the rivalry game for the ages. RE #38 had over 400 yards and 4 TDs as Bondi Beach got their first win of the season beating Tijuana 31-30. Then RE #38 and the Buccaneers went on to beat fellow rookie QB Zisia and the Grey Ducks the following week, putting Bondi Beach 1 game out of a play-off place in the Southern Conference. RE #38s stats have turned around so much that he is currently the 2nd best QB in the league. It’s like night and day from the start of the season. We will have to see how the volatile RE continues to keep up this performance. Record against other rookie QBs 1-1.

Zisia Ojeisndiwoseodj - Minnesota Grey Ducks - Tier B

Zisia Ojeisndiwoseod has unfortunately dropped to the bottom of our list but there’s nothing to fret about. He’s still the 3rd best QB in the league and is throwing the ball well. Unfortunately, Minnesota has just been unlucky. A tough loss to Tijuana and then 2 other loses sees them 2 games out of the playoffs. There’s room to improve in Zisia game and I’m positive we will see that improvement. Zisia still looks like a first round QB, but would probably need more time in the DSFL before making the jump. If NOLA has the time to wait, they could go this route instead of Patterson. But really Zisia is still 3rd in the league and really could be 2nd when looking at TD/INT ratios. Ultimately, its the less in Week 7 to Bondi Beach that has Zisia behind RE #38. Record against other rookie QBs 0-2.

Looking ahead at the schedule, I'm going to let 2 weeks go by before my next QB Race update. Then do one final one before the playoff scenarios of week 14 and the playoffs themselves. Then we'll start pumping out ridiculous mock drafts!!
