Offseason Activity - The Search For Spike - Michiganonymous - 05-24-2023
Spike Daniels is going on vacation this off-season!
Obviously, his first stop will be at Disney World after Sarasota wins the Ultimus on Friday.
But after that, he's planning a globe-trotting adventure, with stops at 8 unique locations all over the world! I'm looking for some people interested in joining a friendly off-season competition to guess each location he visited. Minimum of 8 people, maximum of 16, first-come first-served!
Players will try to deduce each location that Spike visits by asking YES/NO questions.
RULES:
- This game will take place on Discord.
- Questions and answers will be public to all contestants.
- Everyone must ask at least one question, which I will answer YES or NO.
- After the first round of questions has been answered, each player may ask up to 2 additional questions per location. (To make my life easier, please only ask questions one at a time. In other words please wait for me to answer your second question before asking a third.)
- You do not have to use all 3 of your available questions.
- Questions may not reference specific countries, states, or cities by name.
- Questions that I ask you to rephrase or clarify, or that for some reason I can't answer with readily-available public information, will not count against your total for the round.
- Each location will be a specific structure or natural feature. For example, "The Eiffel Tower" as opposed to "Paris" or "France;" "Half Dome" as opposed to "Yosemite National Park" or "California."
- Players may send me their guesses via Discord PM at any time. If your first guess is incorrect, you may make one more guess for that location.
- You may not ask any more questions after 2 incorrect guesses, even if you have asked less than 3 questions about this location!
SCORING:
- 2 points for a correct answer on your first guess, 1 point for a correct answer on your second guess, 0 points if both of your guesses are wrong.
- 1 bonus point for the first person to guess correctly.
- First tie-breaker: fewest total guesses used.
- Second tie breaker: fewest total answers provided at the time of each correct answer. In other words if Player A guessed correctly after 6 questions had been answered and Player B guessed correctly after 8 questions had been answered, Player A wins.
PRIZES:
- Buy-in will be $2,000,000, to be posted in the Casino as a User Bet.
- 1st Place: 50% of the total pot ($8M-$16M, depending on number of contestants)
- 2nd Place: 25% of the total pot ($4M-$8M)
- 3rd Place: $2M (buy-in refunded)
- 4th Place-?th Place: Thank you for playing!
