*S41 Lucha Game Balls - baz - 07-04-2023

Here are last seasons Lucha Game Balls since i need money haha! Go Luchadores! and yes i am leaking info u cant stop me wiz

WEEK 1 OFFENSIVE GAME BALLS

Suave Cruz one of our most anticipated rookies coming into this class and while he did not have much of an impact on his own stats what he was able to help do was fantastic. With successful run blocking allowing us to average over 8 yards a carry and being able to make a play when need be catching all four of his targets he is sure to be a player we can rely on going forward.

Crane had a magnificent game that was complimented with both TDs and yards with 61 yards running and 24 receiving with two touchdowns to pair with it! He had an excellent game and has shown he is ready to help take this teams run game forward as a vital part.

Defensive Game Balls

Swoosh had an excellent game for his first game in the DSFL level and proved that he is not here to mess around at all! With two PDs and a forced fumble, our own dino nuggets was an unstoppable force in the secondary and looks to continue to wreck the dreams of QBs in the league! Swoosh will be a key part of us boasting a #1 defense

komo  Honey Humphries had a silent but deadly game for a rookie, he managed to put up a PD and assist in a defense that was firing on all cylinders during the game. As our radio wearer he was a great team player for the defense and is a key reason for why we were so stout in the second half!

Luchadores Game Balls Weeks 2-4

Week 2: Luchadores vs Norfolk Seawolves 37-7

In week 2 our defense really shined and because of that we have decided to give 2 game balls to the defensive side instead of one each for this week!

First up, also known as Synystyr Gates had a monster game causing turnovers at the very beginning of the game establishing his presence and showing that he is the most dominant corner in the league. Gates had a hell of a game with 10 tackles, 2 PDs and 2 interceptions. He wreaked havoc on this struggling Norfolk defense and will continue to wreak havoc on opposing teams through what is looking to be a MVP caliber campaign!!

Next up is Nasbase aka Ryan Knock, and he was knocking on Norfolks doorstep all game with 2 big sacks and a TFL. He was shutting them down on the run and forcing them to pass. This veteran LB was a beast for us last year and continues to be a beast for us this year. He managed to snag 10 tackles as well showing how versatile he really is.

Week 3: Luchadores vs London Royals 36-14

This week the Luchadores shined once again and I am picking two new players this week for game balls and sorry defense y’all miss out this time despite having a great game.

The first game ball goes to our leader on the offense Lloyd Banhammer Bannings who has been electric this season and last establishing himself as a solid QB for years to come. Bannings threw for 3 TDs and made sure to not throw any INTs to this London defense giving them no room to come back. This has easily been Banning's best game with close to 80% accuracy and over 300 yards.

The second game ball goes to none other than the man the myth the legend. Wing Wang who has been so dominant this season someone else had to switch from kicker because they were too embarrassed at actually missing. Wing Wang has been dominant with the most XPs made and the most FGs made among kickers. Wing Wang is cooking something and that is the other kickers.

Week 4: Luchadores vs Portland Pythons 35-30

Well this was a nailbiter but there was no doubt the Luchadores don’t pull out the win who do they think we are!

Our offensive game ball goes to Gucci Gurley! Racking up over 100 scrimmage yards and a TD. He dominated the Portland defense and did not give them any room. Gurley had a massive 55 yard rush when the Luchadores were struggling in the first half. Gurley alone brought life to our Tijuana boys with that great carry allowing his fellow running back to score. Gurley will continue to dominate defenses along with Crane.

On the defensive side lets go to the guy who really gets after the ball. Demarius Cook who is leading the league in forced fumbles. Cook forced a huge fumble and recovered it at the 3 yard line that allowed us to immediately score again in such a close game. Without this play who knows how the game really shapes up but one thing is evident. Cook is a difference maker and he will continue to be a difference maker!

Week 5 - 7 game balls!!!

The Luchadores went up against Minnesota in week 5 and played their hearts out winning 29-14. All around a great performance but I only have two game balls to give.

Offensive game ball goes to Benji Aguilera who torched the Minnesota defense for 128 yards on 5 catches with a touchdown to boot. Benji has been torching defenses all season and we decided its time show him some respect.

Our defensive game ball goes to none other than Synystyr Gates who has been lockdown this whole season and teams are beginning to fear him. Gates had 2 Ints this game as well as 2 PDs which is helping him emerge as a front runner for a defensive mvp??? Gates will continue to shine as the best corner in the dsfl.

Week 6 rolled around and well we got simmed ladies and gentlemen. The sim finally caught up to us in a 30-31 matchup against the Buccaneers that ended in some of us bankrupt but alas as usual some luchadores stepped it up.

On the offensive side Eli Prince got 6 catches with 79 yards totaled and 2 TDs trying his best to keep the luchadores in the game. Prince had scored to give us the lead after the half but unfortunately the sim gods did not want us to keep that lead nonetheless Prince had a great game!

On the defensive side of the ball we go to our rookie Honey Humphries who has been dominating at safety. Who had some crucial tackles saving a couple TD scores by the buccaneers which allowed us to keep this game close. On top of all of that he got to the QB this week and sat him down!

After Week 6 the sim gods still were not done with us in a rough battle against our toughest rivals this season the Coyotes where we struggled a lot but Luchadores do as Luchadores does and two more players shined!

I shouted out to other receivers this week, so lets add a third which is Garret Cheetahman who had 4 catches for 30+ yards. While this may not be the best stat line. Cheetahman had some crucial catches that allowed us to continue getting first downs

On the defensive side of the ball in this game we swap over to Ryan Knock who has been a legend right alongside Gates in D-juana. Knock put up 11 tackles, 1 tfl and 1 sack. We arent done yet though as the man managed to put up a forced fumble as well. Knock had a great day against the Coyotes and will be out to finish the job come our next game against them.

Lets get into the game balls of this week with us starting with TIJ vs Dallas in a nailbiting 17-17 tie.

Our Offensive Game Ball goes to National Treasure! Who immediately came onto this team and made an impact catching all four of his targets for 38 yards and a touchdown. National Treasure also had a pancake for the team. Treasures touchdown came when we were down 3-17 which allowed us to push back into a spot where we could win this game!

Our defensive game ball goes to Dino Nuggets! Who was lockdown this game with 5 tackles and 3 PDs. Who had two pass breakups that made sure the Birddogs had to punt it and stopped their offense from chugging along. Nuggets had a hell of a game and we expect to see him to continue to dominate.

In Tijuana fashion we took care of Norfolk in a 26-12! We have two game balls to give out this game once again!

For Offense Gurley had a hell of a game rushing for 101 yards total with 2 TDs! He was averaging over 5 yards a carry and was dominating the Norfolk rush defense. Gurley also tallied three receptions making him a dual threat that the Seawolves always had to worry about.

For defense we have Synystyr Gates, who has been dominating offense after offense and is probably one of the best players in the DSFL. Gates accumulated 6 tackles, 2 PDs and 1 FF/FR. He has been a turnover machine this year whether it is forced fumbles or interceptions our local DMVP. D-Juana could not do it without him.

Against the Royals Tijuana took the victory in a close 34-31 game but as usual the Luchadores pulled it out!

For our offensive game ball lets give some respect to our kicker for nailing a 50 yard FG this game. With the game being so close every point mattered and having a kicker with that kind of leg is something we can not overlook quite frankly! Wing Wang has been automatic this season and is proving himself to be the best kicker there is!

For our defensive game ball its the other half of our lockdown CB duo, its Dino Nuggets who tallied 7 tackles, 1 PD and 1 FF/FR. Nuggets fumble came when London was at the goal line and managed to make sure that they could not score. If that is not lockdown I dont know what is! This guy is elite! If it were not for that play this game goes vastly different.

Week 11: Tijuana V Portland (16-24)

A brutal loss for the Luchadores but nonetheless some of our Luchadores rose to the occassion!

Offensive Player of the game goes to Kyle Crane who had a stellar game on both sides. Crane rushed for 46 yards and then caught five of his six targets for forty yards. He was a dual threat that the Pythons constantly had to worry about and was a key part in this Tijuana Offense.

Defensive Player of the game goes to Iman Outlaw who in his first game tallied 11 tackles which is amazing for a waiver pickup and I am personally very proud! Outlaw also recovered one fumble helping solidify a turnover for us. This guy was a menace on the field and will continue to dominate into the playoffs!

Week 12: Tijuana V Minnesota (21-26)

Another close loss for the Luchadores but alas we continue on!

Offensive Game Ball for this week goes to Gucci Gurley who tallied 3 touchdowns all coming in the fourth quarter! Gurley ran for 47 yards and two touchdowns, then also had four catches on six targets for 64 yards and a TD added on. This was a monstrous game for Gurley and we are proud to see our RBs consistently showing up!

Defensive Game Ball for this week goes to Dino Nuggets with 3 tackles, 1 FF, 2 PDs and 1 int! This man was a monster on the field and is a core part of D-Juana. Paired alongside Gates, Nuggets has not shyed away from making receivers fear him. Soon all will know the name Dino Nuggets!

Week 13: Tijuana V Bondi Beach (27-7)

The Luchadores take revenge back on the Buccaneers after an early season loss to them with a 27 to 7 win!

I am going to do two defensive game balls for this game since I want to do two offensive ones for the last game!

For these two game balls I am going to give them to the duo that has been silently dominating the league! Demarius Cook and Honey Humphries! Demarius Cook put up 3 tackles which may not seem like a lot but got after the ball especially well with 2 PDs and an INT! Pan over to Humphries who was a lockdown monster with 3 more PDs of his own! These two have been lockdown all season and they deserve some more recognition so congrats to you both on a great season!

Week 14: Tijuana V Kansas City (14-24)

The last game of the regular season and up against our toughest opponents! These game balls will be going to two offensive stars!

First off its Lloyd Bannings who has been absolutely dominant and we could not be in this position without him! Despite Bannings not putting up the most yards we have ever seen, he provided the consistency we need with a 75% accuracy and no interceptions. He wasn't letting this pass defense get the better of him as he threw for close to 200 yards and a touchdown! Bannings even went and found the endzone on a 2 point conversion in the third quarter.

Second off, we have someone who had a legendary year and some may call it historic, Wing Wang who broke the Current Luhcadores record for most FGs made in a season now beating the record with one more and tying the league record of 30! Wang had a heck of a last game as well nailing a 40 yarder and then the 52 yarder to tie the record. A Luchadore legend through and through!
