*My first really good season in 30 seasons - JuOSu - 08-24-2023

Maybe the title is a slightl exaggeration. I have certainly had solid seasons in that time span. But I never really won any big awards and I have not really made a big push for it either. But this season has gone well. Very well even. Though last night was a little bit of a letdown, it is still an incredible season that I am very happy with and I ultimately think that it is the best season I have had since S13, so 30 seasons ago!

In S13, I entered my last season of my first player career. As a linebacker, I was very solid, with lots of tackles and not much else. Many championships but also not the best career at that point. But then I somehow ended up having a killer last season. I must not have had more than 400 TPE and I would have probably played out of position which must have helped. I ended up with 88 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 1 fumble forced, 1 fumble recovered, two interceptions and a league high 31 passes deflected, as well as a touchdown. Out of nowhere I tied to win MVP that year and that was enough of a push to get my very solid career into the Hall of Fame category.

I don't think my season this year is quite on that level, I am in no way believing I can win MVP. But I do lead the league in tackles at 87 (and before last game I was on pace to break the single season tackle record). I have 7 tackles for loss and 10 sacks, both in the top ten in the league. I think this at least should mean I am in the conversation for a pro bowl appearance and maybe, just maybe even a small bid for the defender of the year award. I also saw that I was top 15 for all players in fantasy scoring which is kind of absurd and crazy.

What was cool to see was also how this compared to my other seasons. I already broke my single season sack record and we have only played 9 games. I am close to 100 tackles already. I hope to get some more tackles for loss too since that is the career record that I most care about.

All in all, I am really happy on an individual level and hopefully I can finish off the season strongly. Sadly, the team has gotten very very unlucky and has lost some very close games in a heartbreaking fashion which somehow might mean that we could lose the playoffs, which would honestly be such a shock with how talented our team is. I hope we can go on a win streak now and still push to make the playoffs this year and then like I said, winning an award of some kind would just be a super amazing feeling after what felt like 30 seasons of mostly mediocrity in this league with my players since that random MVP award with Julian O'Sullivan
