*Waiver Watch Season 3 (1/3) - White Cornerback - 09-21-2017

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]I bet you thought this series was over with the removal of the NSFL waiver wire due to the addition of the DSFL? Well think again, while it's true that we wont be able to cover any current NSFL players, we can scout and report on the DSFL waiver wire stars. 13 players consisting of mainly older veterans sprinkled with a few upcoming NSFL prospects completes our list. The DSFL is a fantastic opportunity for both older players who have been plagued with injuries thus stunting their development and upcoming rookies who are still getting to grips with the league. Now it's time for the waiver watch.

Haruki Ishigawa - Linebacker (Chicago Blues) S4 PROSPECT
Ishigawa looks to slot in the final position of the Blues linebacking core alongside wily Bert Macklin and Matt Edilio. The most recent DSFL claim hails from Tokyo, Japan but played most of his college career at West Virginia. A standout both academically and athletically, Ishigawa focused his training specifically on the linebacker role. Having requested to be removed from his offensive position (running back) in his senior year at Virginia, Ishigawa is no doubt an early favorite for next years #1 pick. A coverage linebacker who has so far developed well and is active in the community? Could we see a possible second coming of Kevin Cushing? While we wait for the self hit pieces to be published, we'll let you scout his football abilities.

Mac Donald - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S2 VETERAN
Mac Donald has landed himself a starting job for the Coyotes of the DSFL. With Ifedemi securing the other defensive end spot, both players are of identical quality. While Canadian born Mac Donald does not excel in any specific aspect, he does not lack tremendously in any either. Mac Donald is by no means a flash player but both NSFL and DSFL GM's have chimed in about his exorbitant lifestyle outside of the league. TMZ earlier reported that Mac Donald has spent his entire S3 wage on land in the Yukon Territory. A horticulture lover first and foremost, a below average football player second.

Sal Ifedemi - Defensive End (Kansas City Coyotes) S3 VETERAN
Both waiver players picked up by the Coyotes were in a desperate position of need, defensive end. Ifedemi is classified as a speed rusher who utilizes his swim move as opposed to a bull rush technique. While conditioning isn't a factor here like it is for many DSFL prospects, Ifedemi really doesn't have anything to set himself apart from the crowd. In fact if you were watching a DSFL game , you couldn't separate him from the walk-ons.

Ryan Jensen - Running Back (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
The only running back on Norfolk's roster, Jensen will hope to impress NSFL & DSFL GM's alike with a decent showing in Season 3. The DSFL is in its inaugural season, but Jensen is heading into his third. The former Alabama alumni is a very raw prospect, a jack of all trades or so to speak but master of none. All purpose backs in the NSFL are often overlooked but many critics have claimed that Jensens inability to improve in his opening three seasons may indicate a poor work ethic and low ceiling.

Josh Davidson - Tight End (Norfolk SeaWolves) S1 VETERAN
The former Cornhusker, Davidson has snagged a starting role in the DSFL. Hoping to hook up with standout prospect Christian Adams throughout the season to possibly make a debut in an upcoming NSFL season. When you analyze Davidson's skill set, it's not exactly breathtaking. But what does standout is his sheer size in the tight end role, standing at 6'5, 255lbs, Davidson will likely be employed out wide to create a mismatch with any cornerback covering him or as a big third and short target.

James Warner - Linebacker(San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
After being claimed off the waiver wire by the Norfolk SeaWolves, Warner found himself trade to the San Antonio Marshals. #47 joins a weak linebacker core, only populated with fellow NSFL reject Barrick Acolyte. Florida State athlete Warner is predominately a speed rusher and would fit into any defensive scheme that blitzes often. Warner unfortunately doesn't have a lot else going for him, not particularly strong out of the linebackers class, not a great football IQ and surprisingly out of shape for a NSFL athlete.

Jughead Jones - Offensive Lineman (San Antonio Marshals) S3 VETERAN
Believe it or not this is the second time that Jones has appeared on our waiver watch series. Regardless the 6'5 320lbs brute has found his way to Texas via the DSFL. The first waiver player this year will fill the third of five slots on the offensive line for the Marshals. Likely to start in either the C or RT position due to his obvious ability in run blocking situations, Jones could be a consistent player in the DSFL and his career harbors a chance of never surpassing the DSFL.

Barrick Acolyte - Linebacker (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Acolyte's NSFL career didn't get off to the greatest start, after being one of the few players to go undrafted in the Inaugural NSFL Draft, Acolyte then went unclaimed on the waiver wire. Hoping to re-ignite his football career in the DSFL, Barrick will wear #51 on the Marshals. Possessing a common skillset for linebackers in this league, an absence of one that is. The Chicago boy will be hoping to impress NSFL teams looking for a position to plug.

Sean Strong - Wide Receiver (San Antonio Marshals) S1 VETERAN
Sean strong becomes the second wide receiver on the San Antonio Marshals roster behind #1 option John Baker. Strong who is the second Chicago native on the squad alongside the aforementioned Acolyte will have no problem receiving snaps in the DSFL. Likely the most agile wide receiver in the DSFL, Strong possesses no other redeemable qualities. A career in the DSFL awaits him.

Memphis Bloomfield - Defensive Tackle (Tijuana Luchadores) S1 VETERAN
The first Tijuana waivers claim of the franchise was headlined by Memphis Bloomfield. The relatively unknown season 1 veteran hasn't had much luck in the NSFL and is now trying his hand at the DSFL alongside arguably the strongest team in the DSFL. The third defensive tackle on the Luchadores roster behind starters Smith and Nasher, Bloomfield will likely be rotated at defensive end with Amir alongside Big Bot.

Joey Langdon - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S2 VETERAN
Joey Langdon is the second kicker/punter on the Luchadores roster. Much of the season will be spent duking it out with fellow special teamer Brent Lane to decide who gets the starting role. Alternatively front office could decide to split the roles evenly between the two and focus Langdon's development strictly on his kicking duties. Canadian born Langdon has decent kicking power and accuracy on the majority of his kicks but hasn't excelled in building on those base attributes in his time in the NSFL. The DSFL will make or break his football career with many seeing him as already denying a more valuable player a possible DSFL roster spot.

Brent Lane - Kicker/Punter (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
One of the few actual "waiver" players if you may. Lane who will hit the S4 NSFL Draft later this year was picked up by the Luchadores. As already mentioned, many scouts have him as the likely winner of the special teams battle in Tijuana. If former Kansas State prospect Lane develops throughout the S3 season then there's no reason he couldn't get a starting kicking job in the NSFL in the future. Many look down on special teamers but kickers & punters are people too. Often the difference between a road loss or a home win, kickers are game changers in the NSFL.

Den Bavis - Linebacker (Tijuana Luchadores) S4 PROSPECT
The NSFL as of late has seen an influx of college linebackers declaring for the draft and this tradition doesn't look likely to change with Bavis. Bavis hopes to make an immediate impact in the DSFL with the Luchadores by joining Mcringleberry and Mills on the line. A pure power rusher, Bavis lacks in everything that isn't strength and tackling. Bavis looks set to have a high ceiling but just how long until he reaches the NSFL is unknown.
