*S45 – DROY Power Rankings - CaptainDMG - 12-09-2023

Anyone can write media, but it is far more difficult to write *interesting* media that people are actually going to read and enjoy. The mark of a good author is giving something for the audience to ruminate on or give them something the evokes an emotion/response. Yes, I write media to earn ISFL bucks, but I also enjoy trying to give “value added” to a community in which I am involved with. Admittedly, I do not have any form of social media whatsoever. Which I suppose the ISFL Discord/league page qualifies as that for me now, but it is still different in my opinion. All the users have something in common (the ISFL) and there are agreed upon rules that everyone is supposed to follow. As in, I could post something seemingly inane or write a subjectively terrible piece of media, and I would not get “completely” slandered… lest someone get punished.

So as I write this week 7 edition, it comes on the back of yet another “S44 Draftee Punishment”. Now, I have no idea what happened nor does it truly “affect” me, but I do see the trickle-down effect. I cannot remember which user said it, nor do I remember it entirely, but someone essentially said that S44 is not here for long but they are here for a good time. Ultimately, users can be “keyboard warriors” and write/post things just because… full stop. For whatever reason someone hits send/enter/post, it could boil down to something as simple as “just because”. It gives me the vibes of Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory, “No one knows what it means but it’s provocative.”

I have learned in my brief time here that there is a spectrum of ages and walks of life and time zones and residencies in the league. I have also learned that people are here for a good time, if not, then they go “IA”. In addition to the power rankings for this installation, I went on a mission to see what interesting things users posted on their player’s Wiki. Come to find out, some players do not have a Wiki. When I reached out those users without a Wiki, I got a few similar responses between them all. The gist is that creating a Wiki is a little too involved for them and they are just here for fun. I 100% respect that and get that. With that being said, I think we need to all take a page from those users and just have fun while keeping it classy.

As a reminder, if you missed how the DROY Power Ranking score is calculated, see the first installment of this series here (https://forums.sim-football.com/showthread.php?tid=48722)

Week 7 Stats: 4 Tck, 1 PD
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Paul_Dosza

Wiki Factoid: Growing up in Australia, Dosza played rugby and cricket; not American Football. In fact, his football career did not really take off until his senior year of college since he spent his first three years studying culinary arts in Zhejiang University (China) before playing at Ohio State University.

#2. FS – Scott Junior – NOLA (@JoeSteel): 76.0pts [no movement]
Week 7 Stats: 4 Tck, +Win
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Scott_Junior

Wiki Factoid: Junior’s passion for music led him to Bethune-Cookman University which has an annual undergraduate enrollment of less than 3,000 students, but is where former All-Pro cornerback Rashean Mathis set the FCS interception record with 14.

#3. DT – Carter Goad – BAL (@caleb.grim): 59.0pts [no movement]
Week 7 Stats: 3 Tck
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Carter_Goad

#5. CB – Trent Thigpen – AUS (@GrimmCrackers): 55.0pts [+6 spots]
Week 7 Stats: 5 Tck, 2 PD
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Trent_Thigpen

Wiki Factoid: Thigpen was a two-way football player in high school and during his senior year amassed 699 receiving yards on offense while racking up 69 tackles, 6 fumble recoveries, and 9 forced fumbles on defense. He also notably set the Wisconsin high school shot putting record with a throw over 69ft.

#7. DT – Ronald McDonald – SJS (@okestboomer): 54.0pts [-3 spots]
Week 7 Stats: +Win
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Ronald_Mcdonald

Wiki Factoid: McDonald has been reincarnated at least 12 times.

#7. LB – Thor Dangerson – YKW (@homercrates): 54.0pts [-1 spot]
Week 7 Stats: 2 Tck, 2 PD
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Thor_Dangerson

Wiki Factoid: Born in Sweden and sold to a necromancer, Dangerson honed his skills as part of Thusla Doom’s army. However, his raw skills and lack of formal training led him to being drafted in the 6th round of the S43 DSFL Draft by the Portland Pythons. Except, something clicked that year, and Dangerson helped the Pythons win the Ultimini that year en route to him being a first round pick in the S44 ISFL Draft.

#7. CB – Bell Peepo – COL (@Ephenssta): 54.0pts [+2 spots]
Week 7 Stats: 3 Tck, 1 PD, +Win
No Wiki, but Ephenssta shared a cool story about his player.

Player Interview Factoid: Bell Peepo was originally Bell Pepper but due to contract clauses from @aeonsjenni he made an official name change to match his favorite snack; bell peppers.

#10. LB – Gaius Gleel – BER (@Crodyman): 50.0pts [-4 spots]
Week 7 Stats: 2 Tck
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Gaius_Gleel

Wiki Factoid: Gleel won the league MVP of Bennington College’s intramural ultimate frisbee team, but his college debt led him to seek fortune in the ISFL after he graduated.

No Wiki Found

#13. DT – Emerson Bigguns – YKW (@CaptainDMG): 40.0pts [+2 spots]
Week 7 Stats: 3 Tck, 1 Sck
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Emerson_Bigguns

Wiki Factoid: His N.I.L. deal with Hooters allowed him to use his soon-to-be finance degree to creatively launch an educational program called “Bigguns Buddies” wherein athletes who maintained a 3.8 GPA or higher could bring their report card in once a semester for a free basket of wings and fries.

#15. FS – Luke Hunter – YKW (@TubaDeus): 38.5pts [-1 spot]
Week 7 Stats: 3 Tck, 1 PD
https://wiki.sim-football.com/view/Luke_Hunter

Wiki Factoid: Luke Hunter is the younger brother of Cam Hunter. This is notable since Luke followed his brother to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and then eventually to the same ISFL team, the Yellowknife Wraiths. Some would call it nepotism others would call it a strong bloodline.

You are correct. Sorry for the typo. It was, however, already calculated in your power ranking.
(4 tck x 1.5 = 6 +Win = 8pts for Week 7 added to 68pts from Weeks 1-6 = 76pts)
