*DSFL Player of the Week Awards - Assistant to the POR GM - 01-21-2024

Week 12:
North Offensive Player of the Week: RB LON Aaron Ford 21 rushes 155 yards 3 touchdowns, 2 receptions 20 yards
Aaron Ford finds himself as a player of the week for the 2nd time in his young career, however unlike last time he wins it as a RB instead of as a WR. Ford had over 150 rushing yards on only 21 rushes, putting up 7.4 yards a carry which is otherworldly efficiency for that many carries. He also found the end zone 3 times for the Royals including a 46 yard touchdown which was key to London pulling away for the win. He stayed true to the receiver in him managing 20 yards in the receiving game

North Defensive Player of the Week: S KCC Lyle Taylor 7 tackles 1 INT 1 TD
In a thrilling affair against the Buccaneers, Taylor nearly managed to lead Kansas City to a win. He forced Thor to throw an interception which is great in itself considering he’s second to last in interceptions thrown. He also managed to take the INT to the house for a 22 yard pick 6 which brought KCC back into what was turning into a blowout and held Thor to a 39.6 passer rating which made the BBB offense stagnant and gave the Yotes offense tons of chances to win this game

North Special Teamer of the Week: K/P MINN Eye-Hardly Knower 2/2 XP 1/1 FG 7 punts 357 yards 61 long 4 inside 20
The Grey Ducks absolutely got decimated in this one but it wasn’t Knowers fault. He made all his kicks and was great at punting with an average of 51 yards per punt and 4/7 of his punts forcing Tijuana to start inside their 20

South Offensive Player of the Week: RB BBB Dru Freduci 26 rushes 159 yards 1 TD, 2 receptions 37 yards
Freduci finds himself as a player of the week for the 2nd week in a row, but this time for his elite rushing performance. He had a day similar to Ford’s, with lots of yards with great efficiency and finding the endzone for a crucial 30 yard TD. Bondi’s passing game was absolutely dreadful in this one but they managed to get it done due to Freduci’s great performance

South Defensive Player of the Week: CB DAL Gajeel Redfox 7 tackles 2 INT 1 TD
Dallas only won this game by 3 points and it was absolutely due to Redfox. He first off had a TD that was needed for Dallas to win, but he also had a key interception in the red zone to stop Portland from getting an early lead

South Special Teamer of the Week: K/P TIJ Jack Sloth 4/4 XP 3/3 FG 4 punts 182 yards
Call him Mr. Reliable because that’s what he is, nothing too special, just what’s expected of Sloth at this point

Week 13:
North Offensive Player of the Week: RB MINN Willie Swaggert 10 rushes 72 yards, 7 receptions 84 yards 1 TD
In a rough week for the North offensively, Swaggert managed to be the best out of the bunch. He had over 150 yards, a lot of which came in the passing game, over 7 yards per carry and a TD. Although Minnesota lost it certainly wasn’t this guys fault

North Defensive Player of the Week: LB POR Xavier Buckley 11 tackles 3 TFLs 2 sacks
Buckley single handedly destroyed London's offense, getting both the quarterback and the running back. Aaron Ford only averaged 1.9 yards a carry and London's passing game was stagnant for the most part. Buckley’s constant pressure and destruction of London's run game held them to only 13 points on the day.

North Special Teamer of the Week: K/P KCC Hearty Harry 3/3 XP 6 punts 261 yards 2 inside 20
Harry made all his kicks, he’s the only one who can say that in the North this week. He wasn’t great, he was just less bad than everyone else

South Offensive Player of the Week: QB TIJ C.J Breezy Jr. 20/22 237 yards 6 TDs 151.1 rating
This might be the best performance of the season. He completed over 90% of his passes for over 10 yards an attempt. He also had 6 touchdowns on 22 attempts somehow. Immaculate game for an immaculate player on an immaculate team.

South Defensive Player of the Week: LB DAL Joey Battle 8 tackles 3 TFLs 1 sack 1 FR 1 PD
Like Buckley, Battle commanded this game from the linebacker position. He recovered the only turnover of this game and crushed KCCs rushing attack which is extremely important to their success.

South Special Teamer of the Week: K/P DAL Air Bud 6/6 XP 2/2 FG 4 punts 185 yards 2 inside 20
Bud went 8/8 on kicks in this one, and had a good punting game

Week 14:
North Offensive Player of the Week: RB POR Scorch Von Turbo 25 rushes 136 yards
In a win and in situation, Von Turbo delivered for Portland. He was efficient and while he didn’t get into the endzone, the wide receiver that did was a bot and according to @thewhovian I can’t put bots. Big game for a big player in a big win

North Defensive Player of the Week: CB MINN Micah Dixon 9 tackles 2 FF 1 PD
In a win and in situation, Dixon balled defensively for Minnesota forcing two turnovers and doing well in passing defense. Great day for Dixon but sadly it wasn’t enough to get it done

North Special Teamer of the Week: K/P POR Cameron Gold 1/2 XP 4/4 FG 1/1 FG 50+ 3 punts 155 yards 1 inside 20
Gold may have missed an extra point, but he made up for it with his field goals. Portland only won by 2 so all they were all crucial, including the clutch 53 yarder he hit which was a career high for him

South Offensive Player of the Week: QB BBB Thor Bollrsveifla 23/32 208 yards 2 TDs 9 rushes 26 yards
In a performance which kicked the Grey Ducks out of the playoffs, Thor had a solid day making no mistakes and throwing 2 TDs in a tight win. While Dan Sevin had 3 TDs I’m giving it to Thor cause this game was actually close.

South Defensive Player of the Week: S TIJ Sebastian Lovecraft 2 tackles 3 PDs 2 INTs 1 TD
While Lovecraft didn’t get many tackles, he also did allow many completions when it was thrown near him or he just caught it himself. He even took one to the house

South Special Teamer of the Week: K/P DAL Air Bud 3/3 XP 2/2 FG 4 punts 169 yards 1 inside 20
Air Bud, which I just learned is a movie with dogs in it, had a good day making all of his kicks

Conference Championship:
North Offensive Player of the Week: RB POR Scorch Von Turbo 22 rushes 115 yards 1 TD
Von Turbo dominated in a poor offensive day for both teams, he had over 100 yards on over 5 yards a carry. He also scored Portland’s only touchdown of the game, and was unstoppable even in the loss

North Defensive Player of the Week: CB KCC Terry Keller 6 tackles 1 PD 1 INT
Keller’s interception won this game for Kansas City. Portland had the ball, down 3 before Keller's pick. The pick gave Kansas City the ball in good field position to get a game-icing touchdown.

North Special Teamer of the Week: K/P KCC Hearty Harry 2/2 XP 2/2 FG 1/1 FG 50+ 4 punts 201 yards
Harry made all his kicks including a 53 yard which was crucial to Kansas City’s victory

South Offensive Player of the Week: RB TIJ Kit Fisto 10 rushes 48 yards 2 TDs, 8 receptions 109 yards 2 TDs
Fisto had over 150 yards from scrimmage, most of it coming in the air, and a whopping 4 touchdowns. Those touchdowns alone would have been enough to give Tijuana a ticket to the Ultimini. Exquisite performance from Fisto

South Defensive Player of the Week: CB TIJ Tyrell Ramsey 6 tackles 4 PD 1 INT
Dallas’s offense couldn’t get going in this one, in large part to Ramseys disruption of  their passing attack. He had 4 passes defended and an interception in this key match up

South Special Teamer: K/P TIJ Jack Sloth 5/5 XP 2/2 FG 1 punt 31 yards
For the first time ever we have a clean sweep by a team, it shouldn’t be that surprising considering there were only 2 teams playing in each division and Tijuana crushed Dallas. As usual Sloth was reliable going 7/7 on kicks.

Ultimini:
North Offensive Player of the Week: QB KCC Lenard McRobinson 6/23 58 yards 1 INT, 13 rushes 53 yards 1 TD
It’s not much of a surprise that no one on KCC had a great day, considering that they got destroyed by Tijuana. McRobinson had an abysmal day passing but he managed to score Kansas City’s only offensive TD on the ground.

North Defensive Player of the Week: S KCC Lyle Taylor 8 tackles 1 PD 1 INT 1 TD
Taylor scored a defensive touchdown for Kansas City and led a defensive unit which held C.G Breezy to a 77.7 rating.

North Special Teamer of the Week: K/P KCC Hearty Harry 1/2 XP 1/1 FG 8 punts 358 yards 63 long 1 inside 20
Harry played okay and punted okay. I mean he was the only kicker in the north this week

South Offensive Player of the Week: WR TIJ Andre Benn 6 receptions 76 yards 2 TDs
Ben had a good amount of yards and touchdowns, his two touchdowns were the first scores of the game which gave Tijuana a 14-0 lead and allowed to cruise through the rest of the game

South Defensive Player of the Week: CB TIJ Tyrell Ramsey 1 tackle 1 PD 1 INT
Ramsey had a key pick that put Tijuana in position to score their second TD of the game. He didn’t do much else but at that point the game was finished already

South Special Teamer of the Week: Jack Sloth 5/5 XP 6 punts 281 yards 3 inside 20
Sloth did what Sloth does and hit all his kicks and punted well
